Atmosphere is great. Especially if it is nice out and you sit out on the patio. The service is excellent and the food is really, really good. Salads and pizza are delicious!!

Yia Yia's has been one of our favorite restaurants for years, but the last few months we have gone, we have particularly enjoyed the offerings provided by the new chef. One pre-planned party we attended was an off-the-menu, multiple course event that was customized for the guest of honor. The food was spectacular, and many commented about the outstanding wine pairings for each of the varied courses.

We look forward to our next visit to Yia Yia's as the service was great, along with terrific food and pleasant ambiance.

Pros: Superb Chef, Great Menu, Wonderful Service, Reasonable Price

.

We had a phenomenal brunch at Yia Yias this past weekend. The weather was fantastic so we were able to enjoy Yia Yia's beautiful lakeside patio. The buffet is plentiful and so yummy with everything from an omelet station to beef, turkey, crablegs and shrimp. There is a wonderful array of sweets as well and a Bloody Mary/Mimosa area set up. The waitstaff was terrific - Christian was just the best, and our whole experience was a real pleasure. We'll definitely be back and suggest you give it a try for a special Sunday morning treat! You'll be glad you did!

Pros: Beautiful Setting - Wonderful Brunch!

Cons: May have a wait for the patio without reservation

We always have a great experience at Ya Ya's and recommend it highly to everyone interested in wonderful food, a friendly waitstaff, knowledgable sommelier Jason and a terrific atmosphere. The addition of new Chef Aaron has taken a good menu over the top with new entrees, cocktail hour specials and wonderful pairings that leave you wanting MORE - but you're too full!

A warm and friendly atmosphere is enhanced in the summer by a wonderful water side patio that allows you to enjoy our terrific CO weather and a great meal at the same time. Spread the word - it's a great place and you wont' be sorry you made a night of it at Ya Ya's!

We've been to Yia Yia's a number of times over the past month or so and it's likely to say I won't go back. Twice we got bad wine recommendations from the "wine specialist" or whatever. The food is overpriced and the selection is lacking. Service is rude. The desserts are nice though - but this place isn't worth it just for that.

Pros: Good desserts and lattes

We visit this restaurant often and have always come away satisfied and pleased. The food has been excellent and our wait staff helpful and enjoyable.
We were here last week.

The Double Pork Chops are the best in Denver...

When we want a special evening, Yia Yia's is about our first choice.

Pros: Excellent Food

.

My food was terrible and overpriced. The server made some terrible wine recommendation, and the manager Scott was argumentative when I tried to send it back.

They used to have certified Sommeliers (2 of them), and now they have none. They now have an old wine rep serving as the sommelier, or more appropriately- wine steward.

I used to enjoy all of the wonderful wine recommendations- great values no matter how much you spent. Now they try to upsell you into some expensive wine that you never wanted.

Boooo! I will never go back again.

Pros: Absoultely nothing

Cons: Everything

.

I recently dined at Yia Yia's and discovered that the owners had fired all managers and sommeliers. Some snooty, arrogant new manager named Scott was simply terrible. I have been enjoying the same old faces for the past year, but no longer. The server knew nothing about the menu, wines, nor proper etiquette.

And this new "sommelier", or more appropriately "wine steward" has no experience or certification. I can't believe the downturn this once-great restaurant has made.

I will never return, and make sure my friends don't either!

I love the food and dining atmosphere at this restaurant. They have a good blend of high class entrees and still down to earth enough that you can understand the ingredients on the menu. The dining area is loud but that makes it fun for a night out with you friends.

We rented out one of the private rooms to hold a Bridal Shower for a good friend. Not only did they allow us to decorate but the deal on the food was fantastic. They were attentive but let us go at our own speed as we were so busy chatting, opening presents, etc we didn't do things in a rushed fashion.

The best mussels I have had in years!

For a casual upscale restaurant, Yia Yia's has the most fantastic wine list in town! They feature an entire page dedicated to "Grower Champagnes", which I have never seen before. Their wine prices are incredible, not your standard 300% restaurant markup. After dining at Flemmings, I paid $185 for the same bottle of wine (same vintage even) that Yia Yia's was only charging $115 for! For a wine lover, this list is heaven. I saw at least a dozen bottles offered on their list that are next to impossible to buy anywhere. Their by the glass selection is wonderful as well.

The food is great too, and they don't skimp on the portions! I highly reccomend the pork tenderloin. They also have a beautiful patio overlooking a pond with fountain. To my surprise, there were giant Koi swimming around in the pond.

Diners must check out the happy hour as well, $5 appetizers like pizzas and mussels. They also have some great $6 wines by the glass for happy hour.

Service was incredible, as the entire staff was well versed in the menu selections as well as wine selections. I will definitely be returning frequently. As far as dining in the Tech Center goes, this place is top notch!

We went to Yia Yia?s for an early mother?s day lunch for my mother in law. We chose Saturday for a late lunch, and asked to sit on the patio. The weather was great, the breeze off the pond made it comfortable and our waiter was a wonderful server! We decided to go with just appetizers and deserts. He suggested doing the combo to save a couple bucks and also kept us from ordering too much food, which I really appreciated!
We started with the crab cakes ? great taste, sauce had a nice kick, also the gnocchi which I would suggest a pass on (I know everyone loves it, but I found it a little lacking), and the calamari was superb! Nummie! We added on a humus too- and dang wasn?t that yummy! I?d suggest to start off with extra grilled pita from the get go ? you?ll need it!
We ended with a fabulous desert ? a brownie with chocolate sauce wrapped and baked in filo dough with more sauce and vanilla ice cream! OMG! We split it between the 3 of us ? what a way to end a meal!

My husband and I both enjoy fine dining which can get pretty expensive. We were in town for a conference and found Yia Yia's through a google search. Man am I glad I did! It was an all around awesome dining experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly, from the valet to the waiter and everyone in between. Not to mention the food! It was absolutely mouth watering, If you are planning to visit Yia Yia's you absolutely MUST try the Gnocchi appetizer, it is to die for! The entire meal was delicious and the prices were awesome, especially for us who live in a ski resort and would have easily paid double at a local restaurant for the same meal. Thank you to the staff at Yia Yia's Denver for an awesome night :)

I have lived and worked in DTC for over 10 years and have been to Yia Yia's at least a couple of times every month for those 10 years. Our company has lunches there or I meet friends there for lunch. Our family enjoys dinners there from just the 2 of us to a huge group. And when we have guests in from out of town - they know that's where we're going. We've celebrated special family events there or sometimes just stop in for 'tini's and to split an entree at the bar. Everytime - consistent - period. That is high praise. Even though there are lots of good restaurants in Denver, there is something to be said about always knowing your favorite one is a) still in business, b) still has great service and c) won't ever disppoint with food or wine. Having said all of that... we actually made it to their Sunday brunch for the first time this last weekend. Wow! Crab legs, peel and eat shrimp, oysters, and mussles - oh my! Plus all the usuals; lox and bagels, omelets, salads, benedicts, and desserts whipped up by Yia Yia's very creative dessert chef. Do not leave without having the bread pudding.

We had a party of six for dinner on a Friday night. The food was fabulous. The waiter was even better--we couldn't have asked for better customer service. He gave recommendations for both food and drink and he remembered all of our names throughout the evening. We were also pleasantly surprised when one of us commented that we had thought the salad we ordered came with an extra ingredient (which was actually an ingredient on one of the other salads on the menu)--the waiter actually brought out a little side bowl of that extra ingredient without us asking him to. Talk about great customer service!

I shouldn't like a chain restaurant in the 'burbs as much as I like this one, but I do. The staff here outshines just about every other restaurant in Denver. The food is very good. And, I can't say enough about Yia Yia's happy hour specials -- totally awesome. But, I hate to advertise it too much, as I'd like to continue to get a seat in the bar when I go! I wrote off this place years ago, but, after trying it again recently, find myself coming back with friends time and time again. Oddly enough, I don't even live or work in the DTC area. In my opinion, Yia Yia's is one of Denver's best-kept secrets.

Upper management and the front of the house staff need some definite hospitality trainning. Too many excuses what they can't do for their guests, and very unaccomodating for smaller parties that don't want the private room.

While Oetting may be a James Beard winner, you'd never know it from the food. Both lunch and dinner lacked simple salt and pepper.
A carb risotto with a tomato nage was screaming for flavour, and unfortunately the crab tasted more of the can than the shellfish it came from.

Top pastry toque Kim Heideman is out on maternity leave, lets hope she gets back soon.

A great place for a stellar dessert, but not my first pick for a luncheon or dinner.

Yia Yia's must have the top chef working lunches rather than dinners, due to the DTC location. Dinner is forgettable and pricey. Lunch is memorable, delectable, creative, fun (and pricey). This is a great place to bring people to celebrate or impress. Food is creative, service is excellent every time, atmosphere is elegant and glamorous. Booths are comfortable, quiet and private.

In Short
The restaurant's arching stone entrance is matched inside by large stone pillars and wrought-iron chandeliers. Diners come especially to sit in the patio area that overlooks ponds and has a view of the mountains.…
