I couldn't be happier with my experience at this cafe. The chef has created wonderful blends of flavor and texture, and is very willing to have a discussion or make a modification if requested. After a business lunch, I returned the same night for dinner to try something else unique and enticing on the menu. Just the right amount of food, nice blend of spices, wonderful wine pairings, and a pleasant atmosphere. A nice surprise, given a few reviews preceding mine. I would say it was absolutely cute, fabulous and artsy. Give it a try!

I have always frequented this cute place for friendly service, unique atmosphere and fabulous, artsy dishes yet ????? none appear to be important anymore? Grumbling service, frigid nonchalance and sloppy food execution. Other patrons seem to express the same as of late:, not an isolated incidence. NO thanks!

The food was horrible. they squeeze their ceaser salad in a glass and it was gross with a disgusting whole egg in it . 10.00 dollars and it tasted like Marie's salad dressing too. The 23 dollar kobe? burger was well down and was worse than McDonalds. Acrually McDonalds would have been better. No server our poor hostess ran around and the food was cold. No bathrroom had to go out of the restaurant and go tKona Coffee next door.
Skip this bistro is was terrible and very pricey.and I love to eat at great restaurants. I should have gone next door to 240 Union but the previous reviews were good. Hey previous reviewers are we eating at the smae bistro or what?

We ventured here for dinner on a recommendation from friends. They were so right. This little bistro is small, quaint and very charming. It was pretty full, but the attention from our server was great. The chef changes the menu every couple of days and the approach is very fresh and seasonal. I had the duck, which was absolutely delightful, and the other people people tried a lobster risotto dish along with a flat bread of the night. Our appetizers were great and the prices are very reasonable for what Bisque has to offer. The wine list is somewhat small compared to a steak house, but quite affordable with nice selections. The Malbec I had was nice and surprisingly, our server was pretty well informed about the list. This is our top choice for dinner on the west side of town going forward. By the way, the reviews and some people I chatted with say they have a killer Sunday brunch. Well, were going back next Sunday. If this place can execute dinner that blew us away, brunch should be great!!

I've been here twice for weekend brunch and been pleased both times. The best entree was the mushroom and cheese omelet. The flavor was wonderful and the lavender honey, bread and salad were nice accompaniments. Service is very good.

I have been here only two times but both times the food was awesome! The service was good and the food was perfect. I highly reccomend the croque madame. My boyfriend and I both ordered one so we wouldn't have to share! I've also had the steak salad from their menu which is also amazing, fabulous dressing. We can't wait to go back and try more of their bruch/breakfast items!

I haven't reviewed a restaurant on here before, but this restaurant inspired me to. The food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding. I visited this restaurant last yea while in the area on business and had a good experience, but this time, it was incredible. I've eaten at a number of prestigious restaurants in the San Francisco area and would put this restaurant in the same league but at half the price. I will definitely come back the next time I am in the Denver area. My only hope is that once this restaurant attracts the crowd it deserves I'll still be able to get in!

About three months ago, we came a lunch group to Cafe Bisque. Since then, they have just won me over with wonderful coffee, breakfast and lunches. Thursday was our first time for dinner and our food was spectacular. Love the decor, food, and the wine list is very nice. The server did a great job also. In this little space, it seems that the staff waltzes around. It gets packed for lunch, but try dinner, it's really a fabulous alternative to the chains and 240 restaurant next door, just much more intimate.

We have visited Cafe Bisque several times over the years and have always been impressed with the breakfasts and lunches. This year, I saw on Channel seven news that the restaurant was voted Best Brunch in Denver, again. Well, we finally tried them for dinner on Friday and truly had a wonderful experience. The Lobster Cobb salad is their specialty, and in the summer it's pretty amazing. I would put it at the top of my list. My husband had the pork chop with some type of spicy sauce and he loved it also. Our server was very astute about the wine list and recommended a nice pairing. Our friends tried a pasta and a risotto dish. The comment was finally a restaurant that knows what a risotto texture should be like. Dessert was completely amazing. The white chocolate banana cream pie was shared by all of us. It is heavenly. We are going back next week for the Early supper, two entrees and a bottle of wine for $30, what a deal! This restaurant is just a small jewel out on the west side.

Cafe Bisque reminds me so much of what its like to eat a REAL meal. One that has been made with love and precision. I could actually see the chef putting the final touches on my plate before it was brought to me! It was as if I was in someones very own kitchen and they were making dinner just for me! The food was great as well, I got the Penne Bolognese which apparantly was adapted from a recipe belonging to the chefs wife.. how special is that? :) Our server was excellent, very knowledgeable of the wine list and was able to tell me what would compliment my dinner. I will definately be returning to try breakfast and lunch!

How this place stays open i'll never understand. The food is way way over priced. The service is always horrible. Quality of food is questionable. There is nothing good to say about this place unless it's the relief you feel when you get to leave.

A GEM!! This has long been my favorite restaurant.. fresh food, imaginatively presented. Great (and affordable) wine list. Everything changes with the seasons.
My husband and I made reservations for the Tuesday Tapas. You won't believe what you are served for $15. I've spent more at Jason's Deli (nearby) for a sandwich and drink or the Village Inn (on 6th) for a mediocre lunch. For $15 each, each we enjoyed four courses of tapas, three of which are paired with wines that enhance each dish and are crafted to present a balanced meal... quesadilla, fritters with slaw, mini barbecoa tostadas, finished off with sauteed peach slices drenched lavender honey... you can't do this at home. It's a light meal, appropriate for a week night, but special with the wines. We splurged on another glass of wine to celebrate the first Elberta peach I've seen in decades.
We're promised new combinations each Tuesday, but we won't need to wait that long. There are bottomless mimosas on Saturdays for $10, including frittata (bacon or vegetarian).
Even if you order from the menu (I've probably been a half dozen times over the past year), you won't be disappointed. You can make it an event and have a leisurely meal, except at lunch time when service matches the limited lunch hours most of us have. The indoor patio gives a change of atmosphere year-round. Don't miss the Kobe Beef burger or the fabulous breakfasts. The fries aren't fast food, but flavorful as well as crispy. Salads are made filling, composed with flavorful cheeses and the freshest fruits and vegetables; you won't find these at your local grocer.
A better choice than the chains nearby, and comparable to 240 Union (next door) in creativity and presentation. Convenient to the Federal Center and Cold Spring RTD hub. ENJOY!!

If you are on the west side of town looking for a great breakfast but are sick of the low end diners then check out the Cafe Bisque. They have a great brunch that is sure to please.

To whom it may concern,

Take my advise, since your looking at this website, save your money and don't eat at Cafe Bisque. The servers are not knowledgeable and not even nice. The food was mediocre, I feel like I can whip the same meal up at home and at least be in a comfortable environment and pay alot less. My food came out cold and over salted (at least they use salt), and when I said I didn't enjoy lunch, the server took my plate, charged my card twice and finished off by gossiping about me only a couplefeet away....about how I had no palate....When I turned around to look at them gossiping I saw it was the server and the Chef talking! By the way, I learned his name is Alex. Why does Denver stand by it's sorry restuarants, we need to expect more and not support restaurants the bring this industry down. Denver's food scene is slowing coming around, not near NYC or San Fran, but lets support places that at least show they know what they're doing.

After eating at Cafe Bisque for a second disappointing time, I will not be going back! Below average food for the price and even worse service! Our waiter was very rude to my husband and after dropping a tray full of dishes directly behind us did not even apologize or check to see if we had been splashed with any debris. I am amazed Cafe Bisque has stayed in business as long as it has. Our incompetent waiter also managed to charge our credit card twice!

After reading some reviews...I was very hesitant to try this restaurant. BUT, I always like to try new places and give the benefit of the doubt.
Unfortunately, Cafe Bisque doesn't deserve much attention.
I must say, all of the reviewers were correct. The wait was way too long given the service and food we received.
We dared not order bread for fear of being charged and getting stale bread. (I've never heard of being charged for bread)
And yes, there is a very fine restaurant just a few steps away....with free bread, delightful service, great food...and nice ambiance.

After the hype I was very excited to eat at this restaurant. It took 15 minutes to get our drink orders to us, another 15 minutes for our waiter to take our order, and we were there an hour and 20 minutes before we got our food. The food was ok, but not good enough to justify the wait. Make sure this restaurant is empty if you decide to eat here.

I'm lucky enough to work close to Cafe Bisque, so I can eat there frequently. However, there are a couple of things that prevent me from doing so. The food at Cafe Bisque is terrific; I've never known anyone with me to get something they didn't like. The plating is beautiful. That having been said, there are a couple of problems. One is the wait time if they are busy. There are a lot of business people who go to this restaurant, and we need to get in and out in a timely fashion. The last time I took people there for lunch, we did not have to wait more than a minute to be seated. But it took more that 20 minutes for a waitress to take our order, and another 25 to get our food. We were starved, so we asked for some bread to nibble on, and like another reviewer, were stunned to be billed for stale bread. I like eating in the atrium, and have never had a problem with it being too cold. However, both the main room and the atrium have fairly uncomfortable metal chairs. And this is a pretty pricey restaurant. They seem to forget they are just down the sidewalk from 240 Union, which is in my opinion one of the top 5 restaurants in the metro area. Given the fact 240 has better atmosphere, better service and the food is actually less expensive for a lot of things, (and their wonderful bread is free!), Cafe Bisque needs to make a bit of extra effort to compete. The food alone won't keep people coming back if they don't have a good experience otherwise. But by all means, try it. Some days, everything is just perfect!

We were quite surprised to see we were charged $3.50 for four slices of bread. We requested bread with our salad and pasta and were not told that we would BE CHARGED for the four small pieces of bread. We thought salad naturally came with bread! Wow!
To make matters worse, the chef/owner came out to our table and argued with us about the charge.
It did not matter that we were regulars of the restaurant or that we did not agree with the charge.
There are too many other restaurants out there to for a chef/owner to be arguing with a guest over $3.50 FOR BREAD!
Besides that....we had to wait nearly 25 minutes for a table that was promised to us in "five minutes."

After having lunch at Bisque ten or so times, we were eagerly looking forward to dinner. We got seated in the open arcade area outside the restaurant which was cold and when we asked for the heater, all of the bright lights also came on. Our waitress recommended the chef's special which turned out to be one of the worst meals we have ever had. A mix of sawdusty tasting turnips, cherries, and?? Thanks goodness the wine was okay.

What a teriffic little breakfast & lunch place! I started with the Butternut Squash & Pear Bisque with a drizzle of balsamic. It had slight sweetness that was pleasant to dip my crusty bread into. My lunch entree was the Duck Sausage pizza that also had carmelized onions, goat cheese, basil leaves and shredded duck. Very tasty. My lunch date had the Duck Panini sandwich on herbed foccacia. The side of blue cheese potato it came with was excellent. Everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked good. Give it a try!

I've read the reviews and recommended it to a friend for dinner, then realized it was a breakfast lunch place, so we went for lunch. It was delicious! It's a shame this place isn't open for dinner but understandably the owner-chef wants a life outside of the business. I would highly recommend it.

We wish this place was closer to us, because we loved it. They have the best french press coffee. We had the lobster club that came with huge side of fresh greens and the kobe burger that came with the side of cabbage salad. We can't wait to go back and try the breakfast items. The server was very friendly and the owner seemed like anice guy and asked every body if they liked every thing. I wish we had more places like this in denver area.
