Home town great! Classic food all prepared like Mom would have made if she'd known how to cook. If you like corned beef, theirs is thick sliced and make on site. Everything is yummy.

Good food, good service, and good prices that what Jus Cookin offers. They have the best in - season cobblers around, and their other food is delicious. Jus Cookin is one of the best family owned and operated home cooking restaurants in Colorado. The next time you want a home cooked meal with out the work and mess, visit Jus Cookin in the little yellow farmhouse at Simms & 8th Place!

Menu has what you might expect your country grandma to serve on Sunday! Had the "turkey in the slaw" - fresh, hand carved breast with cole slaw all on toasted rye - not the thin slice deli meat.

However the best item on their menu is the fried chicken and fresh peach cobbler (seasonal). Blackberry cobbler was equally good, but the peach was in a class of it's own.

Peach cobbler was made from freshly picked peaches and served with a light glaze, not the usual oversweetened gelatin mixture that is standard elsewhere. Pastry crust is the light and crisp - just sweet enough, not overdone. Peaches are firm and it's nice to see that you can tell they have been peeled by hand, and are generous slices not just bits.

Warmed and topped with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream this is the best dessert I've had in a long time.

The fried chicken is their best seller (I asked) and it's not hard to see why. It's difficult to make fried chicken seem non-greasy, but they have figured it out. Spices are subtle, coating crisp and the meat juicy and tender.

Salad dressings are all made on the premises, the raspberry vinagrette was sweet and tangy although the side salad was a little plain (but what grandma would serve - fresh greens, nothin' fancy).

Rolls are almost a meal in themselves, fresh and hot from the oven and the size of a grapefruit, not the little hardened biscuits you get elsewhere.

Casual atmosphere, friendly waitstaff and good prices. I would have given it five stars however the chicken fried steak was not the best I've ever had (that is reserved for a little place just outside the Ozarks!) although it was pretty darned good.

Oh! One last thing, the mashed potatoes are REAL! Definitely will go back, a nice change from the chain restaurants in the area.

You will not leave here feeling unfulfilled although you will probably want a nap...consider splitting the dessert!
