This is really good place to eat with a nice atomosphere. I love their vegie burger, "yummy". I think the only draw back is the slezzy guys there. Men that are to old and need to be home with there wives.

Price is a little higher than normal, but it's worth.
Took an Waldorf Salad. I love it.

I couldn't believe some of the reviews I read about my favorite restaurant. I LOVE this place! I have been going to this restaurant regularly, since they opened. The food is yummy, the atmosphere is cozy, there is fabulous energy in the room, you can have private conversations in the comfy booths, and the service is excellent. And the staff seems to work very hard to maintain consistency and good customer service. Really happy they let you carry out again.

CCG was one of our favorite places in Denver. In fact it was the first place we ate at when we moved to Denver. Back then (2002) it was a fun place, with really good food and very nice wait staff. I have no idea what happenend but the food has become worse than really bad diner food, the wait staff thinks that they are doing us a favor and the reservation policy is truly absurd.

The Macho salad, which was terrific for its flavor and presentation, has gotten appreciably smaller, the chicken is so tough you'd think it was from last year and the figs seem stale. The steak is equally tough--you could saddle it and ride off into the sunset. We can't figure out what happened to the food except they are cutting corners on quality.

The wait staff is obnoxious 20 somethings who think they have class. I had to disabuse them of this but they could not hold a candle to the worst wait staff in NYC. They don't have a clue about the food, they argue when you want to send a dish back because it is unpalatable and the haven't a clue how to behave in a service industry type job.

It is such a shame that CCG has gone down hill and that the staff seems to have no interest in making this restaurant all that they say it is cracked up to be.

Been here a couple of times. The service is horrible, the wine list is overpriced and predicable and the food is blah. It is an experience of $30,000 a year millionaires, and super uptight biddies, and 50 yr. old divorcees. Really at least the food should be good, but my salad came with rotted lettuce, which I was told was burned by frost, not rotten. The fact that the waiter wanted to argue about brown slimy lettuce told me all I needed to know about the attitude of this place. with so many other great places to go in Cherry Creek, avoid this place...

I eat lunch at the Grill a few times a month. My colleagues and I have never been disappointed. We have multiple choices in Cherry Creek, all good, like North, Houstons, Ollies, etc, but we always go back to the Cherry Creek Grill. I liked lunch there so much I took my wife to dinner and she agreed that this was the best kept secret in Denver.

Wait staff is extremely rude!! they literally make you feel as if you should be serving them! I was there last night with my out of town Uncle who is lets say is...of the hippie generation. You would not imaging the looks he received from the wait staff, as if we couldn't afford their horrible food. They charged us $30 bucks each for their center cut steak....this steak was BURNT, had NO flavor, and was very hard to cut into and chew. Not to mention the very TINY portion of mashed potatoes. THEN they have the nerve to print how much your tip should be if you choose to tip 15%- 17% or 20%- PLEASE! they didn't deserve 5%- So after spending 130$ to feed three people, we all left STILL HUNGRY! NEVER EVER GO HERE AND LETS HOPE THEY SOON PERISH IN THIS ECONOMY!

Visually very appealing. The crust is bubbly and crispy and just barely oozing over the edges. The whole thing perfectly golden brown. The skillet it comes in reminds of good home cooking, as if mom just pulled it from the oven with her mitt

Flavor-wise, the crust was terrific, and the inside was pretty decent as well. It was southwestern-style, with green chilis and peppers mixed into the batter, which was just fine with me. But where was the side of butter to slather on each portion? According to the server, it??s all in the bread, and they don??t generally serve it with a side of butter. That??s a real shame, since after requesting a side of it, the butter really brought out the best in the cornbread.

I have been going to CCG for several years. I had one amazing meal there years ago which has prompted many returns. However, the last several times I have eaten there I have left angry and unsatisfied. The staff is always rude. For instance, I have returned a Bloody Mary that was bland and undrinkable, only to argue with the bar tender who didn't want to give me a beer instead. I have returned a salad that was prepared incorrectly without any apology from the wait- staff. I have had a $22.00 piece of Salmon that was unpalatable. I have been refused a to-go-order. Tonight my husband and I ordered the Macho Salads. The salads were incredibly small, the chicken sparse and full of gristle. We asked for bread and they said they would bring us some Ciabatta. However, we were served two pieces of dry sourdough toast. The total meal was $80.00 for two salads (one minus the chicken), an artichoke, and two drinks. We have finally learned our lesson and will never return.

There are a handful of things on the menu that I find that I crave (listed under Pros). There are a lot of things I don't like. Generally, the greeting at the door is cool to downright rude (hint - go in the middle of the afternoon to avoid seating issues.) You're going to get your meal their way not yours (want fries with that French Dip - nope we don't do those anymore - how about some chips out of a bag?) Prices have gone through the roof. Lunch for two - shared articoke, one salmon, one French Dip, one shared dessert and two drinks $100.

The service here is exceptional and the food very good. I had a prime rib au jus sandwich that was tender and came with a rich broth and a creamy horseradish sauce. They offer interesting sides with their sandwiches. My companion enjoyed her enchiladas. It's higher priced fare but nice for a special lunch.

I am a former employee of CCG's sister restaurant. It is not the GM's fault that you can't make reservations for a party more than 4, you can't push tables together, you can't order a drink without the bartender taking a picture of your license, you can't get substitutions, or that you can't get a waiter who won't lay down a snarky comment to get you to buy something. For example, I had a waiter who asked the table next to me "do you have a sweet-tooth we can remedy for you tonight? maybe a cherry crumble?" I could feel it coming, he walked over to us and said the exact thing word for word, I know he's doing that to every single customer that comes in, because he was trained to. CCG is part of a company that asks for constant consistency from every employee, and woe unto the customer or employee that wants something more personalized, creative, or fun. Every single rule was created to weasle more money from customers instead of actually serving people what they want. Its like they think customers are priveleged to get a seat there. I decided to truly test how deep the corporate mentallity is at CCG by ordering an old standby for me - the special. 'The special' is referring of course to the variety of overcooked fish CCG puts on bread and calls a fish sandwich. Needless to say, it was dry (because it was overcooked), and actually quite fishy (probably frozen). Now I understand in Colorado they have to fly the fish in or drive it by truck, but in this day and age for $15 a sandwich I better get something that was swimming less than 30 hours ago. Furthermore, there were no fixins (cabbage, tomato, pickle, remoulade, anything), compounding the dryness problem. Maybe my standards are too high, but a special better be pretty special. With a golden opportunity to make something creative, delicious, and yes - special, CCG will consistenly drop the ball. However, the enchiladas were pretty good, like they always are, and the salad was decent, as always.

My mother and I were in the area for a local festival and after a hot day decided to stop in to have a drink on the patio. We told the hostess we wanted a drink and that we'd like to sit outside. Our waiter came and took our drink order and said he'd be back for our food order. We explained that we probably wouldn't be eating and he told us we couldn't sit on the patio. We then said that since the patio was half empty and the hostess had seated us, we didn't understand the problem. He didn't say a word and walked off.

The manager came out a few minutes later and instead of explaining they should have seated us inside as the patio was for dinner, he told us we would have to move as they wouldn't serve us outside unless we were eating. No apology. We then explained that we would not be staying for a drink nor would we be returning. He shrugged his shoulders and walked off. I have eaten here many times in the past and I never will again.

The atmosphere is really nice and I have always found the crowd interesting and friendly. The food is always very good -- the steak and enchiladas and the skillet cornbread are favorites. Patio seating on warm evenings provides good CC atmosphere. Service is very good when CCG is not too crowded. Street parking can be tough on weekends, but there is a parking lot behind the building that has a fair number of spaces. Recommend going during the week if you don't want a long wait. Sure, it's a little pretentious and pricey, but it is a nice treat.

What's happened to the Grill? The Macho salad is now the Nene' salad! Meaning baby salad. The once best burger is as small as a burger at a diner. The Filet, once the best item on the menu for flavor, was
changed some time ago. Over all, I'm very disappointed that the establishment is cutting corners. Well, they
lost me and the hundreds of out of town guests I have sent over for a meal. I plan to go back in June, I'll let everyone know if they have improved, for now if you want a great burger, go to Ted's Montana Grill, you'll
love the menu and best in service.

This is decent restaurant. But one thing is (this is a pet peeve for me when I visit here) that the staff feed your ribd bones or steak bones to random dogs. Honestly, it is a great restaurant, but the feeding of an individuals rid/steak bones to a dog is personally, just plain nasty. But their food is the best. Ever. Just don't even think about the whole bone thing when you are there. But really, you should go there. It's great.

Ok, so here it is as honest as I can spell it out: The food here is pretty good. HOWEVER, it is not worth the wait, the service, and most definitely not the price!!! You can get all of those things and a better tasting meal at Panera Bread...and I don't even really like Panera, but I'm pretty sure you've been their to compare. I sent back my food cause my mashed potatoes were cold, how does that even happen with microwaves!?! The best part about this place was the bar and that is strictly for all the Cougars and their bait. Don't waste your money it's way too expensive for the food.

I have gone to the Cherry Creek Grill for years...even when it was Bandara. I have never had a bad experience, but do think that the service has declined. I don't understand their reservation rule, which allows you to make reservations for parties of 4 or LESS...just seems a bit backwards to me. It is always very crowded and I believe it's because people go back and know what to expect. The service is great. My favorites are the grilled artichoke, their rotisseree chicken, and may absolute favorite is the macho salad. I never knew a salad could have so many great flavors. The macho is the most talked about salad and for good reason! I do agree that the pricing is a bit high and I would love to see some new items on the menu. Overall, this place is great and is an instituation for a reason.

My friends and I went to CCG the other night...and waited a decent amount of time in order to be presented with a very limited, overpriced menu. For a 100 dollars spent, you would expect a fine dining experience but NO!!! Instead the duo dip fro $9 was 2 cold dips with nothing to rave about, a $17 french dip that was decent but not worth the money and my boyfriend got a $14 Chicken sandwich with potato chips. For that money , you would expect something special. All in all, we would have been better off going to the Cherry Cricket. Yeah, the atmosphere is nice but thats about it! Just save yourself the time and money and go someplace else! I do not see what all the buzz is about and if you really look at all the reviews you wouldn't go!!

The food is amazing, the wait staff is prompt and attendant. However, their seating policies and rules are rigid and obnoxious. For example, it's impossible to eat at CCG if you don't know exactly how many people will be showing up (e.g. a group lunch) because they won't seat you until your entire party has arrived. And there's no "late seating." The staff actually told a member of our party who arrived late that she had to wait in line and get her own table if she wanted to order food. She requested a to-go order, and they refused. It's too bad - because the food is excellent.

All I wanted was takeout. Is that asking SOOOOO MUCH? "We only do takeout from 3 to 5 pm." Then why even do it at all?

I'm sure these whiny cocks@ckers have a reason for only doing takeout between 3 and 5 pm. It probably goes something like this: "Why should we go to extra efforts for our customers? They're lucky when we don't expectorate in their food."

Dear CCG, When you decide to institute takeout, just make a post here and I'll retract this nastygram. In the meantime, I do think all the rest of the people here who say you don't care about your customers are probably right.

i dont know what everyone is talking about- they always did carry out for me. The only complaint I have is the wait... it is SO long. I lived right around the block so I frequented this restaurant quite a bit. The cornbread and macho salad are the BEST!!!!! I went there on a Friday night and had to wait 2 hours in the bar - but it isn't bad because there are always interesting people to chat with. Try it! The cornbread alone is worth it

Overall, the food is very good here.

However, you have to put up with an oboxious staff full of pretentious 20-30 something lowlifes who seem like they all have coccaine addictions and think they are cool because they work in a trendy restaurant. Also, this place is part of some big Texas corporate chain called "Houston's." So, it's really just a glorified Outback Steakhouse. All in all, the food is good and consistent. However, I only go here when taking clients to lunch or when my girlfriend's stuffy, republican parents are in town because that's the kind of people this place caters to.

Overall, I'd rather eat somewhere with more character.

Cons: lacks character, staff is pretentious

I don't know what kind of attitude you people that had such an unwelcoming experience walked in with, but as long as you're friendly, every employee that we have run into is courteous also!
We just got back and had incredible food as well as service. We will return often.

we were greeted very politely & were sat down quickly in a nice booth (6 people)
Heather was our server and was excellent!!!
drinks were prompt & refilled immediately
the Beef BBQ ribs & Macho Salad, as always, were wonderful

It seems a few vociferous complainers try to give CCG a bad name, we have been going there for the last 6 years and love the food, and don't take the naysayers seriously

Being from the midwest - with HIGH expectations of casual dining - this place fits the bill. If your expectations are high or if you have a chip on your shoulder (as some reviewers seem to have had), this place isn't for you. Yeah, if you go at peak times... you'll be waiting... because the food and service are that good!

I've always had great service here... if the place is full... request dining at the bar. My 82yo Mom always enjoys dining at CC Grill and I'll best most would agree with her.

The food is moderately prices and consistently on-the-mark!

Yes drinks and sandwich at bar, but no serious dinning. Service and drinks good at bar. Probably a good cool bar for a Cherry Creek want-a-be to hang. I recently hosted my Sister and husband's trip to Colorado. The service and attitude at CCG was terrible. They do not seem to care for return business. My sister and her husband, are well traveled and have dinned at some of the finest restaurants in the world, they agreed with my opinion. I wonder why Houston's pays for such bad management. My brother-in-law was told by the manager, that he could not substitute a side, that came with an enchelada. A 16$ enchelada. The kicker is that this was the only dish that there were no subs. I said. that it is just an enchelada, a mexican enchelada. I asked the waitress if they were still owned by Houstons. She said no, I corrected her and she said something like. well I know everything. Well traveled people do not like being talked down to, by a 21 year old or a manager who needs serious training in a real restaurant. It seems, that the want-a-be crowd , is big enough to support their business anyway, and have seriously overshadowed serious dinners. Houstons needs some new management, with a change of attitude.

I had heard this was "the place to be and be seen in cherry creek", so I checked it out. The first time I went there it was a mad house. I went to the bar area to meet friends for a drink. It was so crowded, that it literally took about 15-20 minutes, just to get a drink. All of my friends were very put off by the rudeness of the bartender (as well as the "bitchy" patrons) and we left. I had some friends come into town who wanted to grab a bite after shopping. They were looking for fare that the cherry creek grill portends to have. I dropped them off at the front while I looked for parking. When I arrived - maybe 5-10 minutes later, they were angry. They tried putting their name on the waiting list, however the rude hostess told them that all parties needed to be present, even BEFORE she would put our name on the list. Subsequently, 4 other dining parties came in and got their names in before ours. Well after 1.5 hours, we got seated. The waitress actually was very polite. One of the ladies wanted to order the rotisserie chicken salad and inquired if this was white or dark meat. She was informed it was dark meat and asked whether she could substitute white meat instead. NO was the only answer - even after letting them know that we would pay the extra money if required. Overall, the meal was a disaster. I'm not sure who the GM of the restaurant is, but he should be relieve of his duties. I think, bar-none, this is the worst dining place in Denver. The food was terrible, the wait was horrendous and the management and staff were very rude. Hopefully a franchise like Houston's will open up in cherry creek, putting this place out of business.

One word - I will say it 3 times to make my point ARROGANCE ARROGANCE ARROGANCE - The way this restaurant treats the customers is totally inexcusable! I have given them more second chances than any other restaurant that I have ever visited. Don't bother trying to get seated until your whole party is there - don't bother trying to get food to go - don't bother asking to vary any ingredients - DON'T BOTHER GOING THERE! As a matter of principle I will never step foot in the door again! I realize they are very busy and must not need me as their customer - must be nice, probably won't last forever. I will celebrate the day their arrogance and lack of customer service catches up with them! GOOD RIDANCE JERKS!!!!!!
