I cannot imagine having a cat without Dr. Jill!

by Heather W.

I have known Dr. Jill now for a span of almost twenty years and five cats. I cannot begin to tell you how lucky I consider myself to have her. If only I could find a vet for my dog that I felt even half as good about! Two of my cats have had serious medical issues and Cheshire Cat was always there when I needed them. I have always been able to get an appointment when one was needed and I always get a follow up call if there are any concerns with my cats. They have always been accommodating in allowing me to spend time with my pets who have had surgery. Most importantly, the staff treats my cats like they are just as important to them as they are to me. I have been through the death of two of my cats with Dr. Jill. The experience that she and her staff provided me with during those moments were alone worth every bill I have paid. I cannot imagine having a cat without Dr. Jill and her staff. Thanks from Heidi, Boo, Emily, Neptune and Tiki!!

Best vet for felines

by Julie S.

Cheshire Cat Hospital is one of the best for Felines! I have been bringing my two Siamese cats to Cheshire for over 10 years. They are pricey, I will admit but the care we receive is always excellent and thorough. Any medical services, animal or human are very expensive these days.
My experience w/them has always been excellent.
I must admit I was I was quite shocked to read some of the negative reviews. Dr Jill Starcevich and Dr Susan Stadler are probably the most thorough vets w/regard to cats that I have encountered. They have always treated me and my kitties w/ the utmost respect, professionalism and true concern for the health and well being of my cats. Any busy office is going to have days when the staff may seem overwhelmed or extra busy. I think one must take a look at the overall treatment, experience, expertise and reputation, as well as the outcome of the services, before making a critical statement. I also have dogs and take them to a local vet, they are very good, but even my own medical doctor or dentist do not call to follow up on our progress. The staff at Cheshire has always called to follow up or check on my kitties after any type of procedure. Dr Jill is very busy but always has taken the time to call or explain to me exactly what is gong on and what our options are. Thank you for your caring attitude and excellent care.

I would recommend them highly!

I would never take a cat anywhere else than Cheshire.

by Autumn T.

I have been taking my cats to Cheshire Cat Hospital for 15 years and have never received anything but top notch service. This is not your ordinary run of the mill vet's office. It is cats only so your animal does not have to be afraid of dogs disturbing it and Dr. Jill is always training and up to date on all of the latest research to help you and your feline. The staff is caring and compassionate and your animals even get sent a yearly Christmas card filled with catnip. I would never take an animal anywhere else. I have been to many vets over the years and never had as great as an experience as I have at Cheshire. They even call to check up on your animal after any procedure.

Cheshire Cat Hospital is The Only Place to Bring Your Felines

by Stephen N.

I have been taking my cat to Cheshire for 8 years, and Dr. Jill is totally credited for saving her life. In addition, in the past few months I've had to have an annual checkup and teeth cleaning done on my girl. I've had the pleasure at these times of meeting Dr. Susan Stadler who is as exceptional as Dr. Jill. The two make an awesome team who I have the utmost confidence in. I would not trust my girl to anyone else. Add to these two great doctors, a caring and professional staff, and this cat hospital has to be at the top of every cat owner's list.

Cheshire Cat Hospital is the only place I'll go!

by Amanda S.

Cheshire has always taken great care of my cats. They always do a follow up call and ask how my cat is by name and ask if I have any questions or new concerns. If I leave a message for the vet, sometimes the return call has been after hours. I feel that they truly care about each one of my cats, and every Christmas I get a card in the mail addressed to the cats, filled with catnip! They love tearing open the envelope! Cheshire has the knowledge and experience I need in a vet. I know my cats have the best ongoing health care possible.

Cheshire Cat Hospital is SIMPLY THE BEST

by vincent s.

We could write 20,000 words about the caring and professional staff at Cheshire Cat. Because they specialize in only cats, makes them the best. From normal check-ups to possibly serious ailments, you can be assured your getting the finest care possible. Dr. Jill is even stronger now with the addition of Dr. Sue and we always come away with lots of facts and information about our felines. They like the clinic so much that we have difficulties packing them up to go home. Years ago we were seeing a vet that diagnosed our kitty with diabetes and as he rushed off to see a sick puppy, stated that we probably had at most, another year with the little guy. About that time Dr. Jill opened her practice and we immediately liked her quiet and cat comfy environment. We also liked that she was not a clock watcher and spent as much time as needed with our felines. Our diabetic kitty ? a good dozen years with an abundant knowledge of the disease and we were instructed on how to take the readings and reported back to CCH for adjustments. Over the years Dr. Jill has had many competent doctors to help her growing business. We wouldn't go anywhere else. She loves our cats as much as we do and her staff does check-up calls after an office visit. An outstanding, caring and delightful woman is Dr. Jill and she is an asset to the community.

Excellent Cat Care

by Lisa G.

I have taken my cats to Cheshire Cat Hospital for more than 10 years. I appreciate Dr. Jill and her staff for their deep expertise on cats and the little touches that make the cat more comfortable - like feeders outside the window so the kitties have birds to watch while being weighed and examined.

The address here says Broomfield but they're really in Westminster, northeast of 92nd/Wadsworth.

I'm always a little startled at the bill, but health care is expensive no matter how small the patient. They give free new-kitten exams, which is nice - both my new kitties were shelter cats with various issues and critters on board. I recommend Cheshire Cat all the time to friends with felines.

Cheshire Cat Hospital is fantastic!

by Linda M.

I have known Jill for almost 20 years and have taken my pets to see her before there even was a Cheshire Cat Clinic and I will continue to do so as long as Jill is around. You will not find a more caring or knowledgeable vet. She cares for each and every cat as though it were her own. Yes, Cheshire is busy -- it's because they're good. Jill's integrity is above reproach. I have to wonder if there is more to some of these comments than what we're being told.

Crash and Niles - Biggest Fans!

by Ann O.

For 33 years I have been fortunate to have at least one cat in my life. If only I had known Dr Jill for as long would I trust that my friends had always received the best care possible. Dr Jill saved my closest friend Niles over a year ago from a "perfect storm" scenario of illnesses. There is no way he would have made it through the night if Cheshire Cat Hospital wouldn't have opened their doors to me. Niles is perfectly content and purring on my lap right now and will probably out live my kitten (Niles is 15). I will confess, I am their biggest fan. Dr Jill doesn't just hear what you are saying about your cat and what is wrong - she listens to each and every word to capture the full picture and alleviate the problem. Just the littlest statement can affect the outcome and she will capture that and run with it. This is not her job but her passion. That is reflected by the care and respect your friend receives as well as through the way she works and supports you. I truly have never worked with such a wonderful team as I have at Cheshire Cat Hospital. Rest assured, your friend will be well cared for! Sincerely, Ann Otterson

Cheshire Cat Hospital is HORRIBLE

by Michele R.

I am glad some have been so lucky as to have a wonderful experience at this horrible establishment. However, I have not been so lucky. I found there lack of sincerity and professionalism to be appalling.I took my kitten there for a sneezing issue, where she was sneezing blood, they did not seemed very concerned about this. They gave us medication, but did not explain anything about what could be causing this. Just here are the meds, deal with it. Furthermore, it was not even the doctor, who associate who is a joke, who came in to explain the medication. It was the tech. Not paying for tech, paying for the doctor. Oh by the way, waited 45 minutes for the doctor to even show up.I took my kitten to have a declaw as well. Sorry sometimes declawing needs to be done or face having more cats in a shelter. Anyway, 3 days later she had an infection. Funny thing, I did everything I was told to do, and she still came down with an infection. I took her in, she received shots and a bandage rewrap. We were sent on our way. Oh did I mention, another office visit was charged. I voiced my irritation with this, they said well the cat caused the infection, not us. Um, ever heard of a post op period do not charge for an office visit. How am I supposed to know you did not cause the infection.
Ridiculous.I called to speak with Dr. Jill. Oh shocker she is not available, or never returned my call. I think she should focus on her staff and her associate, or her little business might begin to falter.

Cheshire Cat Hospital is just fine, thanks

by Charles M.

I have been taking my cats to see Jill for over 15 years and would recommend her highly. They do get busy but they alway seem to have time for me. I have never waited more than 15-20 minutes.

And, for Mr 'ALL CAPS COMPLAINER' he should:

A) learn to spell
B) never declaw a cat in the first place!

Cheshire Cat Hospital is a neat little hospital!

by anonymous a.

I love this hospital. i have taken my cats there for several years. never with a problem. if there was even a slight concern they were there in person and by phone. the staff seem to know their stuff, and i believe all have several years Vet experience under their belts. i have even adopted one of the cats they had there, they declawed her and spayed her for a decent price i thought. and every time i take her in they still treat her like they used to, like family. they may have their off days but what business don't? its an all cat hospital, and quite a charming little place too!! lots of trees and birds outside, and even some bunnies to look at too!! they even take the time to put bird feeders all over their neat landscaping. A+ in my book. ill take all my cats there for as long as i have them.

believe me, i have gone to several Vet hospitals in my arvada area, and im very anal about my pets, they are my life, and i usually dont write reviews cause who really reads them. cheshire cat hospital makes sure my babies are well taken care of!! the least i can do is to tell others about my experiences.

Cheshire Cat Hospital is TERRIBLE!!

by CB B.

WE TOOK OUR KITTEN IN TO BE DE-CLAWED & NEUTERED RECENTLY AND WERE SHOCKED WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE DE-CLAWING. THEY BASICALLY BUTCHERED HIS PAWS. THEY CUT HALF HIS PADS OFF AND USED GLUE INSTEAD OF LASER(WHICH WAS NEVER MENTIONED AS AN OPTION).HIS PAWS WERE BLEEDING WITHIN 2 DAYS, SO WE TOOK HIM BACK AND WERE TOLD IT WOULD COST ADDITIONAL MONEY TO FIX WHAT THEY BOTCHED! THE POOR KITTEN HAD SUFFERED ENOUGH!! THE BILLING MANAGER WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH,AND HER ATTITUDE WAS REALLY BAD! wE HAVE SINCE TAKEN OUR KITTEN TO A CARING VET TO GET EVERYTHING HEALED & OUR HOPING FOR NO INFECTION.WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT OTHER KITTENS GETTING BUTCHERED IN THE SAME WAY,SO WE ARE ALERTING PEOPLE OF THIS PROBLEM!

Cheshire Cat Hospital is good, but too busy

by Jennifer B.

I really liked this place at first. They are top notch when it comes to cats and know their stuff. That being said, they lost my cat's file (after going there for several years) and did not seem very concerned about it. Also, even though I would have an appointment, there was a minimum wait time of 45 minutes to an hour. This is not acceptable to me. They take on too many clients and can't adequately serve them all. Good vets, but they are just too busy to be effective.

Didn't wow me, didn't fail me.

by Shawn C.

Well, I kept my appointment with Cheshire after reading all of the reviews here, because it seemed to be split between people who LOVED the place and people who HATED it.

I went in very cautious, and left without developing much of an opinion. The staff were all very courteous, they were all very enamored with my kitten. The doctor, who never introduced herself, but I assumed that it was Jill, made sure to check the prices of the procedures that she did so that I wasn't blindsided. They talked to me like a new kitty mother, which I am, but didn't talk down to me.

So, I haven't really developed an opinion, one way or the other, but they haven't scared me off yet.

Long time client perspective

by Mary Y.

This is a wonderful veterinary clinic, but like any business, it can have problems. On the plus side, the owner, Dr. Jill, is without a doubt, the best vet I've ever met. She's treated my cats for over 10 years, and has done a wonderful job. She's a gifted surgeon. There is no doubt in my mind that this is a group of people who truly care about cats.

On the minus side, the clinic is often very busy, and they don't seem to be able to keep a second vet for long. Getting in touch with Dr. Jill can sometimes be challenging. Treatment can be pricey, but I've seen bigger bills other places for far less treatment.

If you want excellent care for your feline companions, I recommend this clinic.

Rude, Lacking customer service

by K M.

I was new there and thought it was going to be a good experience but my red flag should have been when i was not even able to talk to the doctor. THe 'manager' who i unfortuantly had to speak with often, who i guess was a nurse too?? was the most uncaring person i have met, and seemed to be bothered everytime on the phone or in person. Will look elsewhere

Awful Feline service, you have been warned.....

by Sylvia R.

After having my appointment rescheduled 2 times due to the vet's own personal schedule conflicts, I finally had my cat seen there and I was very dismayed at the treatment that was given. The bill was outrageous and I could never seem to get a hold of the doctor regarding ongoing concerns for my cat. I have since moved on to a better vet clinic that I can actually have faith in to care for my pet's wellbeing.

Change in my cat's view of Vets

by Mary C.

My cats were treated very well... They were both comfortable, which is different from how they act in most vet offices. It was a very comfortable environment. Dr. Jill is very caring about all animals, especially cats. She is extremely knowledgeable and explained more to me than I have ever understood from any other vet.

10 stars!

Would Not Use Again

by Anonymous

I would not recommend anyone use Cheshire Cat Hospital. In my opinion they are incompetent, and are too busy to provide effective follow up care. phone calls are not returned in a timely manner, or not at all.

After using them for my sick cat for one week (And spending $500 in vet bills), they could not diagnose the reason for his illness. My cat finally got so ill he could not stand, so I brought him to another vet (On a Sunday since they are closed on Sunday) who diagnosed the probable cause in a few minutes. However by this time the cat was too far gone, started having massive seizures, and was put to sleep.

Luck Cat

by diane m.

I had the good fortune of meeting Dr. Jill who cared for my cat in her final days.My other vet ran blood test but did not treat my cat for the results he found. Dr Jill immediately treated her for several infections and a thyroid problem which gave her quality of life to the end. Dr. Jill euthanized my cat in my home and knew all the right things to do. She was a great comfort to both me and my cat. She is very caring and at the same time realistic. I recommend her and her staff for their knowledge and caring ways.

BE CAREFUL

by Abe F.

This company set me up on a payment arrangement after my cat needed an expensive treatment. One year later they tried to sneak $150 out of my account out of nowhere. I caught it the same day and they said it was an error in a matter of seconds. They never checked the computer against a piece of paper with my debit card information on it. The computer was updated, the paper was not. No phone call, nothing, just took money from me a year after the visit. They did a good job with the kitty, but watch your account closely if you set up a payment arrangement.

Purrfect Place For Puddytats

by Torrey S.

My husband and I have been taking our feline companions to Cheshire for many years. The staff at Cheshire is always helpful, caring, professional, and available.

A few years ago, I had to have my 18 year-old kitty put down and the staff's truly caring and gentle demeanor made it a much less painful experience than I had anticipated.

Several weeks afterward, I received a card in the mail from Cheshire with a heartfelt wish and a paw print of my dear kitty. It was a very thoughtful and above-and-beyond gesture on their part. Every year I receive a Christmas card from them filled with fresh catnip (my current kitty, Cosmo, looks forward to his Christmas card from them every year).

I am a medical professional (human medicine...nurse practitioner) and I know a few of my colleagues who could benefit from this staff on how to treat patients (whether 2-legged or more...patients are patients).

Were it up to me, I'd give them 10 stars.

I'm moving out of state, and wish I could teleport back here when I need them.

Worth the Trip

by Anonymous

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Cheshire Cat Hospital. The staff is always courteous and very helpful. They are very sympathetic and helpful in making decisions regarding the care of your pet. I live about 30 minutes from this location and pass many other veterinary clinics on my way but Cheshire is well worth the trip.
