With all due respect to the unhappy customer, I would like to state a couple things in my defense.

The customer who posted the review above did not drop off her systems, she had a friend drop them off in his name with his contact details. When he dropped off the laptops he did not know what was wrong with either of them and was unable to contact the lady on the phone. The only detail he did mention is that there are pictures on one of them that she may want recovered. The work order was for a general diagnostic with a note about recovering pictures off one if possible. I had no other information. I informed the gentleman it would be $49 per laptop for the diagnostics with a possible extra charge if a flash drive is necessary. $49 x2 plus the $30 flash drive and tax is how the bill ended up at $133.

I performed a diagnostic on the laptop with the pictures, and determined the cost to repair would??ve exceeded the value of the laptop, so went ahead and recovered the pictures from the hard drive to a flash drive. I do not recall anything being mentioned regarding music, and had no notes on the work order to recover music.

The other unit, that she mentioned she picked up the next day, was running very slow when I booted it up. I found and removed conflicting anti-virus software which was causing the bulk of the slowdown issues, and then performed a general tune up. The only hardware issue I found in my examination was the optical drive was failing, which I noted on the paperwork. With no other details available, I assumed the software conflict was the reason it was dropped off for service and considered the work finished.

The lady called me the day after picking up the laptop, very upset, indicating that the laptop was experiencing the same issues it was having when it was dropped off, describing a loud grinding noise coming from inside and that it was still running slow. I did not hear a grinding noise while I was working on it, and it was the first I had heard of the problem, so I asked if she could bring it back in to demonstrate the noise for me, so I could troubleshoot it. She declined and stated she would come write this review instead.

With similar situations in the past, where an issue had not been described when the system was dropped off, but was reported to us at the time of pickup or within the days following, I normally will troubleshoot and attempt to fix at no extra charge, which I would??ve done in this case as well, had the customer brought it back in.

I took two broken computers into this place for repair. Turns out one was unable to be repaired so Shaun said he could transfer my pictures and music to a flash drive for $33.00. I agreed. When I went to pick up the flash drive the other computer wasn't ready but I paid the entire bill of $133.43. I was disappointed when I got home to find that he didn't transfer any of the music I had saved to the flash drive, only the pictures. I didn't say anything because I was just grateful to have the pictures. However, when I picked up the other computer the next day, it was EXACTLY the same as when I dropped it off! I called and he said he didn't charge me for any repairs, only "diagnostics." Yet strangely enough, he never once mentioned that the computer was messed up. If it wasn't able to be fixed, why not tell me? Where's the diagnosis? I was very disappointed with the customer service and lack of communication and will never use this shop again.
