DO NOT GO TO THIS SERVICE SHOP!!!!!

I own a 2000 Ford Focus SE. My mother was the original owner of the car. I got the car in 2008 shortly before the birth of my first child. We have both maintained the car really well over the years and it is commonly mistaken for a much younger vehicle both cosmetically and mechanically. Within the first three months, the spring coils broke on the front suspension. I called Barbee's Freeway Ford to price the repair(I believe they told me $765). I ended up having my uncle do the work to save money. A few months later I was at Freeway Ford getting some other work done on the car and was told that the spring coils were a defective part and covered under extended warranty. I could have gotten them fixed for free, but wasn't told that when I called to get the repair quote.I spent $500 for parts that I could have gotten replaced for free. Even still, I chalked it up to miscommunication and decided to continue using them for maintenance and repairs.

Two years later, I brought the car in to get the timing belt and oil changed. The employee at the service counter told me that they could change my oil but not to worry about changing the timing belt because my car had a timing chain and those don't need to be changed. I continued going to Freeway Ford for maintenance and repairs for over a year after that and none of the other service techs ever recommended that I change the timing belt, so I had no reason to question the accuracy of what he said. About two weeks my car broke down because my timing BELT went out! I will quite possibly need a new engine. I have contacted Freeway Ford about this and they have told me that since I don't have written proof of what their employee told me, they will do nothing for me. This is the second time this shop has cost me hundreds of dollars through no fault of my own This time it will probably be over $1000. I am now a single mother of two small kids. I can't afford to put a new engine in my car and Barbee's Freeway Ford refuses to take any responsibility for their negligence.

Beware of this dealership. Their customer service is non-existent. Neither the sales manager nor the service manager would return calls or requests for help after selling me a car with a maintenance problem. Once they have your money, you cease to exist. Definitely would not use these sheisters again!

I would never recommend Barbee's Freeway Ford to anyone. I can't believe people actually fall for their lies. I've been shopping around for a newer car for a while now so when I went into this dealership I had a pretty good idea of where I stood regarding my credit, interest rate, etc. I went there w a specific car and budget set. \r\n\r\nReggie tried SO HARD to talk me into a 2012 Focus after I specifically told him I wanted a 2010 or 2011 Escape. Boy, did he push. He also told me no bank would finance me for a used vehicle and they could only finance me a new vehicle. He made an offer that required a down payment (when other places I searched didn't require a down payment), higher interest rate (3 points higher than other places), and my first payment was due much sooner than other places. Poor Kennedy....she's learning all the wrong ways to sell a car by learning from Reggie.\r\n\r\nI'm NOT just another pretty face. I may be a female, but I KNOW my stuff and I do my homework.\r\n\r\nWhy pay more and hassle w these guys when if you do your research right, you can find way better deals.

Freeway Ford lied to my wife. They lied to her and told her that her brakes were shot, they said only 1 mm of brake pad remaining and they were ""metal on metal"". They told her that if she didn't get the work done NOW that they would get much worse and cause further damage to her car and possibly cause full brake failure.\n\nFreeway Ford didn't know that I had recently gotten the brakes replaced! I took the car back to the original mechanic and he showed me the brake pads and explained to me the wear pattern and at what point they need to be replaced. He showed me that the rear breaks are in like new condition and the front pads were only about 80% worn.\n\nFreeway Ford gives honest mechanics a bad name. I think it is ironic that they always have bible verses on their large sign, I have one for them. Proverbs 11:3

THEY LIE and they don't care what it does to you!\n\nSold us a used vehicle, the sales person and the finance lady both said the loan was approved, I asked if it was for sure approved and safe to sell my vehicle and they both said, ""YES"", so we got rid of our other vehicle to find out they *didn't* get the loan approved. They then assured us it would get approved and for three months tried getting us a loan - all that time hitting our credit and TRASHING it!\n\nAfter having the vehicle for three months, they then demanded we return the car, but now we can't get another loan and we don't have a car for my family. Not to mention, we had over six hundred dollars worth of work done to the body of the vehicle [removing dents] and they won't even reimburse us for that.\n\nNever will we trust Barbee's Freeway Ford again - what a bunch of low-lifes!

Four years ago, I purchased a pickup from these people. After $2500 in repairs, the first week, I had a solid vehicle. Unfortunately, even though they promised to hold the title for me, they mailed it to my house, 1500mi away. Fortunately, I made a subsequent trip home and retrieved my title.\nA mixup in the paperwork, but these things are rare, right? Wrong.\n\nThis time, I purchased an SUV. After 4 trips to their service department the first month, I think I have a reliable vehicle. I still don't have a title. It's been 6 weeks of them telling me that it should be here in a couple of days, and now they tell me that they mailed it to the former owner.\n\nDuring my most recent trip back to the dealership, I talked to another customer who also has not received his title. It has been so long that he had to get replacement temp tags, and those have expired, as well. The dealership, of course, refuses to pay for the extended temp tags.

I tried to purchase a truck and after negotiating terms, price, etc. and drove off in my new truck... I got a call late that evening and they told me I needed a down payment or I had to return the vehicle... After contracts were signed and all the negotiating how can they go back on their deal... The vehicle was on empty so I had to fill the tank full of gas which after returning they told me they would reimburse me for gas but never did... I soon arrived back to the dealership to give them back the vehicle and the sales guy told me they wouldn't reimburse me for the gas... I found out the following day the truck was sold to someone else... Everything that was promised to me was just a lie... Don't trust anyone there and get everything in writing but even then I'd never go back...

These people are the worse I have ever dealt with. After finally getting a deal I could afford... we signed the papers for which I thought was a settled purchase only to find 2 weeks later they said the bank would not approve the rate and our payment was going up. I guess a contract is NOT a contract these days. Now I will return the truck and start my search again. Please have them explain the fine print that is unreadable. Get pre-approved and confirm that with Jeff and Stephanie BEFORE you go to the signing. They work as a team to snake in the hidden costs and details. I will be contacting FORD CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS regarding this matter.

The sales staff seem nice enough, but they lie, are incompetent, and sell lemons. They literally do nothing to their used cars other than clean them before they sell them. Do not buy a car from these folks, you will be disappointed.

We were just there two days ago looking to buy and this was the worst car experience I've had. They were 100% unprofessional, rude and mouthy. They wouldn't even let us TEST DRIVE the vehicle we were interested in until they ran our credit. It was a new truck they had just got in, the guy danced around telling me how much it was until I firmly demanded it. He kept giving us the final price but no break down. No clue on what we were actually paying, which would of been $31,000 for a 2005 Tacoma with 85K miles....wtf?! Because we were hesitant and wanted to take a step back to discuss it, the sales guy got very rude and mouthy to us and tried to push us out the door with a way over priced truck. He also told us we would never get financed anywhere else and that he 'wasn't doing anything wrong'? After we left, not buying the truck, we have received harassing text messages from them calling us schmucks, among other things. VERY INAPPROPRIATE. I have never experienced anything like this, do NOT go near this car lot.Period.

I've purchased 3 cars from this place and have been pleased with our when buying our vehicles and also when servicing our vehicles. They've always been up front with us and have helped us when we needed to find the best deal and vehicle for our family. I'd recommend this place to family and friends as our experiences have never been anything less than outstanding.

Freeway Ford is currently running a campaign they call "2 for 1" implying that you buy one car and get another car free. Two different salesmen explained that if we bought an 07-08 used SUV, we could also choose an 03-04 used car such as a Focus for free... just paying tax and licence on the 2nd (cheaper) vehicle. My husband and I made 3 separate trips to Freeway to test drive vehicles, ask questions, and find 2 cars we wanted. Then came the sit down with the finance guy and an hour into that conversation, AFTER credit approval and appraisal of our trade-in, it is FINALLY explained to us that this is NOT in fact the deal at all. The deal is that you pay FULL PRICE for BOTH vehicles, but they get financed together on one loan. Ridiculous! This is the point where I started laughing, shook my head in disbelief and walked out. What an unbelievable waste of my time and theirs. My advice: STAY AWAY! They will treat you like an idiot, lie about price (check their website price vs. what they tell you in person) and waste your precious time and energy. BORDERLINE FRAUD.

I purchased a new Focus from Freeway Ford recently. I received the utmost courtesy, and the salespeople showed a lot of patience with me, given the fact that I waffled between two cars for so long before making a decision. The price was fair, the deal was great, and the financing was painless and reasonable. They also threw in 10 free oil changes, and a 100,000 mile extended warranty. Aside from the service, I must say that this is the best little car I have ever owned - and I've owned Mustangs, Firebirds and Corvettes! Kudos to Freeway Ford! I'll definitely deal with them again in the future. PS - I sent my brother-in-law over after my purchase, and he bought three vehicles - a used Audi for my niece, a truck for himself, and a new SUV for my sister. They are all as thrilled as I am! :o)

- VERY concerned citizen! FYI - BUYER BEWARE!

Do your research, you will find one terrible story after another going back to at
least 2005 WARNING of this disgusting dealership! How they are still in business
or don't have an indictment or class action suite against them is beyond me!
Help me to get them out of our town! Denver~

Called the dealership about a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with about 17000 miles that they were asking $19994 for. Agreed to come in and take a look which upon reflection was my first mistake. I took a test drive and the vehicle seemed OK, not too much detail work was done but was passable. You could tell it had been vacuumed and washed but not much else. Had parts of the front grill not assembled and left in the back. We sit down to talk about the car and I tell them I want to trade in my 2002 Grand Marquis (blue book value around 3500 to 4500) and that I had $1000 to put down and my credit was not that great (actually it's around 650). I hand over my keys (another mistake as now I'm held hostage) and let them run my credit first thing (yet another mistake). So the sales guy comes back with some song and dance about best values with more money down, etc... and hands me two sets of numbers on a piece of copy paper: $3000 down and $530/month for 48 months and $2000 down and $440/month for 60 months and that includes my car as trade in. When I look at one of the online calculators seems to me that they have just tried to cheat me out of thousands of dollars. They keep coming back with some similar numbers and do the ""sales guy switch"" and make references as to the math not working out for the ""guys in the back"" and yet never show me any real numbers. We finally get to what I'm really willing to pay and that's around $250/month for 60 months with my car and $1000 down and they won't go there. One guy (he must have been the ""manager"" type) tells me that they'll keep my info and if they find something they'll call me which came off completely insincere and then the original sales guy came back with my keys and didn't even say goodbye like I'd wasted THEIR time and I was the customer. So I walk out of the place feeling like the following:\r\n1.) they'd just tried to cheat me\r\n2.) they'd just lied to my face\r\n3.) that I needed a shower to clean off the sleaze

Pros: they seem to do good business, they seem to have good selection

Cons: swarming sales crew, not completely open negotiations, uncomfortable pressure

I puchased a "slightly used" 2003 Ford Expedition Demo car from them and was assured to its excellent condition. Well . . . I was sold a lemon to put it nicely . . . as for their service dept. (which, unfortunately, I've had man dealings with,) I was treated in a very condescending manner to the point I had tears. They were not and have never been helpful. In asking if a current problem was fixed he said I don't know . . . I said what do you mean you don't know, you said that the service had been performed and he (Otis) said mam, we only do what we are paid to do and nothing more . . .apparently checking to see if the service that was performed fixed the problem was outside of the mechanics job description.
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE OR SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!

We payed a little too much for our vehicle here, and they promised us a free emissions inspection that we never received. However, had we done our homework, we would have known how much we wanted to spend.
