When I walked into this place with my relatives (locals) I immediately thought of Laura Ingalls Wilder in Little House on the Prairie. How wrong was I to judge a book by its cover! When my sister went to grab a number for us, we hung around the store and the Americana Barn. The kids got a real kick out of taking pictures with the brass Thomas Jefferson in front. Our table seated 8. At promptly 6 o' clock, my nephew, who is an avid diner at WFF, ran off to ride the "Pig slide" as he called it. Apparently, it is only open the first 15 minut4es of the hour, and my nephew worships it. As soon as we sat down at our long country style table, we were greeted by a nice lady wearing an checkered apron. She handed us menus and took our drink orders. My niece and nephew, who always come to WFF brought their report cards with straight As on them. The server immediately smiled and congratulated them. She stamped them with a smiley face and told my sister that they would get free kids meals! Those kids meals included potatoes, fried chicken, a drink, a sundae, and unlimited sides. (Unlimited sides come with the meal!) After we had placed our order, our waitress whipped out a bowl of fresh beets, homemade coleslaw, bean salad and decadent corn fritters. Everything was excellent. The coleslaw was the best I had ever had! Crunchy, crisp, and sour! The beets, were sweet and firm. The bean salad was different but still delicious. The corn fritters were so good, I filled up on them right as the chicken came! The chicken came on a steaming platter topped with an American flag as an added effect. The chicken is specially cooked in a steam cooker, and then friend to a crunchy crisp so it isn't oily at all! The potatoes were buttery and fluffy. My sister says that this place is like a Casa Bonita, but with actually food. Overall, the experience was great, and the kids loved it- very family friendly!

Pros: Best fried chicken and coleslaw I've ever had! Great service

Cons: reservations for people with large groups only. (20+)

This restaurant is situated on acres of farmland right here in Denver. Great place to bring the family for homestyle food, like fried chicken, (a signature dish), corn fritters, bean salad and coleslaw, but also for the extra attractions. I'm talking about the petting zoo with goats, donkeys, and other farm animals, the playground, the pond with fish that you can feed and of course the barn. There is also a country store and bakery on site in case you want to do some shopping while the kids play. I love the corn fritters --yum!.

This place is fun for the entire family. We brought Grandma here for her birthday and the entire family enjoyed it. There is a petting zoo and fun little shops that have all kinds of neat things to buy. A big hit for the kids was the tree house and feeding the big fish in the pond.I always eat the chicken and it is excellent so I don't know much about the other entrees.

I would say the food is very good and it's worth the trip. They also have a nice farm grounds with petting zoo. The service was friendly as well.

That said, I'm not sure what's up with the "people bags" they don't have any cardboard or styrofoam boxes, they just tell you to put everything in a plastic bag. I brought it home to my husband and he opened the bag and was disturbed a little by the layout. So anyhow, I'm not big on family style, i couldn't even eat the first serving....i would pay $1 extra for a nice cardboard box. thanks

White Fence Farm is one of the BEST family restaurants in the Denver area. Family-owned & operated, their food is served family-style, so no one will leave hungry. They feature unique starters -- corn fritters, bean salad, cole slaw, creamy cottage cheese, even beets -- which are fresh & you can tell that all their items are homemade with their special family recipes. They are famous for their fried chicken, but the shrimp and fish are also tasty. There is a petting zoo with goats, donkeys, sheep and other farm critters; there is a play area; there is a barn with an indoor slide and live bands playing at night; there are country stores & a country bakery featuring fudge & pies; carriage rides are also available on certain nights. Plan on spending time enjoying all the Wilson Family has to offer!! They do fill up on weekends during the dinner rush, but there is so much to see, the wait time flies by. Servers are always friendly & attentive. The restaurant has different rooms to dine in with different themes, and it is always clean and comfortable. White Fence Farm is a MUST when you have company visiting from out of town!! And, their kid-friendly atmosphere will have families going back for a fun night out. This place cannot be beat for both the food quality and the atmosphere!

Cons: A bit pricey, but because food is served family-style, they will bring seconds of side dishes!

This is an excellent place to bring the family. I went there with my Mom,Dad,Brother,Uncle and Aunt. The service there was fast and the people were friendly. Our server was a young lady named Danielle and the hostes was friendly young lady by the name of Chelsea. The both looked like they were pros at their job working fast and effectively for the customers. There was a Bus boy named Sal who I perticularly liked, he was young but he had great respect for me and my family calling us mam and sir and willing to get us more things. White Fence Farm hires many people who are nice and come to an every need. I would honestly say that this place has good food and incredible people (especially the bus boys) and is suitible for all ages. I encourage you to go here on a week day because weekends get really busy.

We went here when brother came in town with his kids. What a great idea that was. The food was delicious, and not over priced. The kids got to run around and play while the food was being prepared. Plenty of parking, and the desserts were out of this world. The cobbler was as good as it gets. Not a first date kind of place, but would take the family here anytime.

We have eaten at White Fence Farm many times over the years and have never had a problem. Of course personnel change over time but I would say this is definitely worth the visit, especially with a family or group of friends. And be sure to take the kids in the summer!

Our friend wanted to take us to dinner here because she said that the food was AWESOME! We got our table and a very nice young lady named Genny took our order, about half way through our dinner my friend got up so that she could go to the restroom. A few minutes later a bus boy named Jeremy found some money right where my friend had walked, so our server asked us if we had dropped it. I said well my friend just left for the restroom and she might have dropped it. When my friend returned they asked her if the money was hers, at first she was not sure but then she checked her pocket and found that the money had fallen out. So they gave her the $25.00. We thought that this was the end of all of this, but just then the bus boy JEREMY walked up and asked if the situation had been resolved and we said yes. He then said well are you really sure that it?s your money and we said yes. He was extremely rude. A few minutes later I notice a server named Terri talking to a well dressed female manager about us in a loud voice. She was about 10 feet away talking very loud saying " Well we found 5 (1's) a 50 and a 20 and she didn't even know if it was hers. I then became angry and went to the front desk to ask for a manager. They called MIKE the head manager and OWNER! I explained to him and he said let me see what I can do. Well he did nothing but disappear for a long while and then as we were leaving after paying a $44.00 bill, he walked up and said well I talked to my Asst. Manager ( the well dressed lady) and she said that they we talking about something else that happened in Black Hawk. He offered no fix what so ever and didn't even seem to care! I am a General Manager for a Restaurant and would NEVER think that this is OK!!!

THE OWNER DID NOT CARE ABOUT ANY OF THIS! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!

I am a 24 year old US Army Veteran of Iraq and I have eaten in many different Countries and I have never been treated this way EVER!!!!

Overall dining experience was just average.... Our server was not attentive to details at all. We ordered Fried Chicken & Turkey Breast famiy style dinner for our family (there are 3 adults and a child). The server advised us that we would be charged $7.95 for 3rd adult who share the two order of the family style dinner. In addition, children will be charged $3.95 as well for sharing the family style dinner. This place charges for every petty thing!

15 mins after submitting our order, the server came back and told us they were out of turkey breast. We didn't understand why that wasn't advised to us sooner. Also, at the end of our meal, we asked the server about the free dessert special that we heard over a radio. We made a selection, but when we received the bill, the server failed to take it out from our tab. We had to go to the cashier and have someone else rebated it.

Overall experience was just OK.... it has great atmosphere and nice gift shops.... the place promotes a warm and friendly family dining place, but we didn't feel that at all. On our way out, we met the owner (Mike) who didn't even greet and asked how our visit was. He just simply nooded his head to us and walked away.

I think this place is great for tourist, but as a local, it would be a one time dining experience for me.

My family and I have been to "White Fence Farm" several times and I must say, every time we have been there it has been a joyful experence.
The food is excellent, the "family members" are all warm and friendly, the shops are too cute, the "farm-critters" area is really nice and you can pet and feed them, and it feels like you stepped back in time without having to leave town.
Anytime you have someone comming from out of town or just want to go yourself, do me a favor and go, you will not be sorry, and you will have enough chicken to take home with you!
I highly recommend the bean salad, cole slaw, and the mashed potatoes. Don't forget "Granny's Fudge"!

I had heard people rave for years about how good White Fence Farm is. I'd have to say the chicken is good, but nothing to write home about. Someone else had the pork chops which they said were fantastic. Corn fritters were really good, Cottage cheese was good. Mashed potatoes and gravy were okay but nothing to write home about either. This place is good for the one-time experience, but I probably wouldn't go back.

Took a friend and her husband for her birthday. It's decorated like a Kansas old folks home, the waitstaff is dressed like the cast of Hee Haw, unattended children are poking at animals trapped in cages outside (the "petting zoo") and the food is terrible. Kidney beans floating in ranch dressing is a side dish? The chicken dinner was a big plate of extra greasy, fried chicken skin, slimy in some places, with very little meat. I paid extra for a birthday cake which they also ruined. The icing was crunchy because granulated sugar was used instead of powdered- DUH- and the cake was dry and flavorless. The only thing worth eating here are the outstanding corn fritters. Everything is overpriced for what you are served or altogether inedible. Taking KFC to a park would be a much better plan for your wallet, stomach and family.

This is a great family restaurant. It also has a petting area of farm animals, a bridge over a river to feed fish, a pig chute slide, a play area and a really neat store with old time candies and things. Their is even a horse drawn buggy to take a ride on. The food is all good, but the fried chicken is the absolute best. It is always clean and service is excellent. Highly recommend this place!

This family fun restaurant was amazing! I highly recommended the family style dinning, the chicken especially is delicious! Not only the food but the staff are very polite and courteous and were quite friendly. The atmosphere was a great family area, the big barn is a great place for the children to run around and play, while the parents can sit and enjoy a coffee. The grounds are very well kept, and a good place for the children to run around and have fun! The carriage rides at night were fun, a nice place for a couple to go and get a ride around the area. The petting area is also a really good idea, children love to feed and pet the animals

Chicken fresh (manager explained process) and salads always there. We loved the beet salad, so the server made sure we had big bowls until dinner came then brought the small ones.

Service by all was friendly and courteous. My wife says the broiled whitefish is always good. I've never tried the steaks, although I think that going to a chicken place for steak is like going to a sushi restaraunt for a burger.

The only issue I have is that their iced tea tastes terrible (and always has!)

For me, White Fence Farm is an excellent place to visit with family and friends. Throughout my life I have seen changes there that include a tree house, more seating, and of course the large barn full of shopping and entertainment. For kids it's an excellent place to get rewarded for good grades by being treated to dessert, or maybe just to play with the animals and slide down the 2 story slide. For adults it's a great place to relax and enjoy what i consider great cooking. With all that it's no wonder that reservations are a smart move on holidays or if there's a large group. All in all, White Fence Farm is the best place to go if what you want is some good ol' country traditions.
