Aurora Animal Hospital

I was a technician @ Aurora Animal Hospital a few years back. I did leave for personal reasons-had a baby & could not focus on anything else from then on. I was in the field for 10 years & came from a hostile environment to Dr. Cogswell. Dr. Sharyn Esposito joined the practice a few months after I was hired. The negative reviews that I've read are completely false. Both of these Doctors are more than just your vet-they are women with feelings towards your beloved pet. If you think money is what they are after, it's false. My 8 year old baby dog died @ the clinic in my arms. Everyone was there for me-every heroic measure was taken to help bring my baby back. Although it failed, in my eyes the people in that clinic did not. Yes it costs money-this is money being used to help your beloved pets. You should hope all vets in practice have the same compassionate for the animals that walk through their door. It helps to give a positive look when these are the women who are trying to give your pet life! & I wasn't paid to say this!!! I will never forget how hard they fought for mine & I'm sure they do the same day in & day out for yours!Jenn W.

In Sept. 2007 my Husband got a great job offer overseas in the U.K. One of the problems we ran into was getting pets overseas. Its a LOT of work. We have been patients of Dr. Cogswell for years and have 3 dogs and 2 cats. I researched all the steps involved in moving pets overseas, and worked with Dr.C and staff on getting all the needed paperwork, shots, tests etc. Believe me when I say that coordinating 5 animals is not easy. The staff was/is so accomodating and helpful. During the process of getting our animals prepped for the trip, one of our kitties got sick. Dr. C diagnosed her with Diabetes. It was touch and go, she got sick so fast. After having to spend a few days at the clinic she was able to come home. Charity (big hugs) showed me how to give her daily insulin injections and how to best manage her food and illness. They did spoil my kitty so much we started calling her Princess Flufferpuff. My kitty is doing so well its amazing!!!
Dr. C and staff did such an awesome job with everything, it was nice to know it was one thing less to worry about. Currently we are all living in the UK, and all 5 pets are happy and healthy. Thank you all again for doing such a great job, I will never forget it. And a special thank you to Charity, I still wish I could of brought you with us. LOL.

We take our Boston Terrier and cat to Dr. Cogswell's office and love Aurora Animal Hospital. She does a wonderful job, the staff is great, and we love the practice. The doctors there are very good as listening and solving problems, and at suggesting the least costly and least invasive types of care. The experience we have at Aurora Animal Hospital is especially wonderful, since we left our other veterinary who is now part of a local chain, and just didn't feel like we got the same level of service.

Dr. Cogswell and her staff has been wonderful to our dog! Our puppy came down with the parvovirus and they have been nothing but loving to our dog and caring to us throughout the entire ordeal. The Vet assistant, Charity, has taken on our puppy as if he were her own and has shown us the care and attention we, and he both need. I could not disagree more with the previous review that they attempt to elongate the treatment, rather, Dr. Cogswell has made every effort to ensure the treatment is both expedient and detailed. We had to transfer our dog to a 24 hour care facility for Sunday and were counting down the minutes until we could return him to Dr. Cogswell. I highly recommend this genuine and knowledgable staff to any animal owner/lover in Aurora or the surrounding area.

I disagree with the previous responses. I have two dogs that I take to Dr. Cogswell and have for 5 years, when I tell them "let's go visit the girls", they get extremely excited, even as to getting their leash. My golden, needless to say (high maintenance) has continuous health issues so my visits are often. Dr. Cogswell always tries to find the least expensive treatments while maintaining the health of the golden. Often I receive discounts.I recently lost one of my animals and the entire clinic was in tears, I received cards and flowers.I truly feel they honestly care about my animals, they treat them as if they were part of their family. Who could ask for more... I would not take them anywhere else.. I have several friends who now go there as well and always have a pleasant experience.

My wife and I honestly feel that Dr. Cogswell and her staff go out of their way to lengthen therapy and treatment and feign a lack of intercommunication as a means to attain higher financial goals. We no longer bring our dogs here. We waited too long to post this and for that we are sorry. But after seeing people with similar problems we could no longer remain silent.

I went to write a review saying how much I like Aurora Animal Hospital and I saw that two negative reviews are posted. I could not DISAGREE more with those reviews as my experience has been consistenly exceptional. I've always received excellent care for my animals, helpful advice for me as a pet parent and everyone there is just really great to work with. I highly recommend Aurora Animal Hospital!!

My experience was for a free exam for a rescue puppy that was coughing. I received the free exam & paid for the antibiotics. They called to ask me if the cough was better. I said no & the puppy was lethargic. I was told to wait a couple days, but I might need a stronger antibiotic. When I called to get the stronger antibiotic, the doctor was out. I was told I needed to come back in & pay for $46 for an office visit plus pay for stronger drugs. When I responded that the doctor had said I could get stronger antibiotics, I was told to wait for her to call me back. The message she left on my machine said that she needed to see the puppy because it could have gained a lot of weight in a week. I felt the whole idea was to get as much money for a free office visit that they could.
I did take my puppy & pay for another office visit, but it was definitely NOT at the Aurora Animal Hospital. I will never go back to their clinic.

although I will not return to aurora animal we have reached a compromise with Dr. Cogswell and I will say that for her part she did communicate with us as much as possible to resolve our issues.

Aurora Animal Hospital has all the expertise of a large clinic but offers the intimate caring of a small personalized clinic. The doctors actually get to know your animal. My dogs truly get excited when we go in for a visit! They run to the doctor like she is an old friend. My cats love the little carpets the doctor uses to make them feel warm and secure on the exam table. The care is first class and the personal commitment of the staff makes it the ONLY choice for veterinary care in the region.

I've moved around a lot for work over the years and can honestly tell you that this is the best vet I've ever been to. The doctor and the nurses are very professional, very thorough, REALLY know their stuff and are super nice to deal with. They're just great at what they do and you can tell how much they love their jobs and caring for animals. I looked around before making my first appointment with Aurora Animal Hospital and can also say that their prices are fair and competitive -- particularly given the quality and level of service!

I highly recommend this clinic for several reasons. First, they do their best to get you in the very same day you call and once there, they get you into an exam room promptly. The vets there are extremely thorough. They ask the right questions about what symptoms you are seeing. They also take the time to fully examine your pet and provide understandable explanations of what they are seeing and what needs to be done to make your pet well. They show a sincere compassion for the animals brought to their clinic and they provide professional service! Fees are reasonable and they will provide you with costs ahead of time if requested.
