Shlomo's no longer is the restaurant at the Aspen Golf Club but has been replaced by the Red Mountain Grill. However, many of the menu items, particularly the matzoh ball soup, remain.
We ate lunch there recently. My husband was delighted with his soy-glazed grilled tuna sandwich that came with cole slaw and vegetables. My Greek salad wasn't quite as successful. The dressing was served on, not on the side, and the tomatoes were left out. "Light on the feta" didn't translate very well and it came loaded with the cheese. Still, I'd return and just order something different.
I like shlomos because they do most of the food from scratch and its great quality. I know when i go there i can get a fresh burger cooked the way i like it, or homedade salad or matzoball soup. If it was located in downtown aspen i think it would be one of the busiest restaurants in aspen. Although its worth the drive, sometimes i take the bike path also. I would recomend the french dip with coleslaw, best in the valley!
Shlomos is a wonderful eatery with a great view of the golf coarse and the most pleasant deck in Aspen. I have visited Shlomo's many times over the past few years and was never disappointed. The food & service are great, not to mention very affordable. Lots of bang for your buck. Shlomos is the best deal in town in my opinion.
