Ten Thousand Villages is a refreshing, exciting store that I wished I had discovered sooner! What an international wonderland. The items you'll find at 10,000 are unique and diverse. They carry items that were hand made by artists and crafters in third world countries. The goal of 10,000 is to pay artists a fair fee for their goods in order to help them advance their own lives in their own countries. They are able to pay the artists fair to high prices and then sell them to us at prices that we consider to be low. It is a win-win situation. My favorite items are handmade cards. They run from $1-$4 and are beautiful. You'll find pottery, woven goods, home decor, clothing, hand bags, toys, wooden pieces, kitchen supplies, and much, much , more at TEN THOUSAND VILLAGES!

PROS: Unique gifts at a low price.
CONS: Sort of hidden in Old Town, not a lot of advertising.
