As long as you are an adult walking into the store you might get treated with some respect. But as a teen some near 20 years ago you got treated like a thief. I saw recently that not much has changed. As long as you are shopping for R.C. or other big ticket items you will be overwhelmed with help. But, if you are just looking for scale model items, well, just figure it out on your own!

Great staff who are willing to take the time to educate customers. Great selection of fun stuff. It's not the cheapest place in town, but if you're looking for big discounts you can go take your chances at MalWart where the salespeople have never used any of the products. If you're looking for good, local service the Hobby Hut is the place to go.

I have had to go to Hobby Hut numerous times over the last couple of months. Not knowing much about anything to start off now I know tons about RC boats, planes, helicopters, and rockets all because of the staff. They didn't try to sell me the most expensive stuff but gave me and my son all our options for his budget and skill level and had tons of info. When something came defective from the company they replaced it immediately without fuss. On another occasion they stopped me from buying a part I really didn't need. And when my son broke a part on his plane they asked how it broke and told me how to prevent it from happening again. When my young son buys something they double check to make sure he knows what he is getting. Every time I walk in they immidately greet me and come to me- without being over bearing. Plus everything they sell they also sell the parts for. I always get the feeling that they want their customers to be happy and get the most enjoyment possible out of their merchandise not just make the most money possible.

I am admittedly not a hobby guy. More of a scrapbooking, purse shopping, gal. I get confused when I walk into the Hobby Hut! There's so much to see! It makes me want to become a hobby enthusiast. The last time I went in looking for a mailman in H scale as a gift for my grandfather and it took the staff (who was very helpful) about 2 seconds to find it. Wonderful!

Everything retail priced. Discounted items basically junk. Unfreindly, pompous, and arrogant staff. Model railroad products old and faded. Dusty inventory. RC stuff ok.
PROS: Location.
CONS: Lots.

This place is loaded with models of every kind. They also carry a great line of kites. It's a wonderful place to find balsa wood in any depth or size. Hobby Hut caries tons of authentic decals, plus a full line of paints which include every color you can imagine. The only draw back is they are grumpy people, not friendly or helpful. I go here as a last resort and only because they have such a good selection.
