The bar is amazing. It is long but worth the wait. They also have amazing servers that were not only polite but quick with their orders.

I am not going to waste too much more of my time on the place but my experience was so outrageous I feel like I should warn others.\r
Our party arrived for our 7:30 reservation and waited until 8:15 to get a tiny, wobbly, stained table.

I dined here with a group of friends this last weekend. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant that charges that much. I would rather dine at McDonald's for the rest of my days than give my money to these people ever again.

The high-style restaurant has excellent food, perfectly prepared. The wine list is a veritable phone book of options with under the average prices. The waitstaff was extremely helpful. The maitre d' was a gentleman with myself and everybody on my table.
Venice will be my new spot.

My husband and I went to Venice this weekend. Our server was outstanding and the food was wonderful. I really enjoy when an Italian Restaurant makes all of their pasta fresh unlike some who just use frozen pasta. They have an incredible wine selection and our server was most helpful in helping us select the perfect bottle. Venice is great.

We took our 21 year old daughter and her friend there for her birthday celebration. Two and one half hours later, we were still there, waiting for the check. The service was so slow, we were wondering at times where the food was coming from. The service was unfriendly and the place wasn't really that crowded for a Wednesday night. She wasn't very helpful, barely smiled and didn't try at all to make my daughter's 21st birthday very special. The server was impatient waiting for our order, but then each course took forever to deliver. We have been to Venice many times, but this time was horrible. Go next door to Morton's if you want a memorable evening.

Pros: good food, especially the panna cotta dessert

Cons: service was extremely slow and almost downright rude.

I am not usually one to damn a whole business due to the ineptitude of one person, but in this case it was so bad that I feel more than justified. Add to that the fact that I have been there not once but half a dozen times, and this guy has managed to piss me off each and every time.

Venice's happy hour runs until 7pm, and kicks back up at 9pm. So as long as you are not there between 7 and 9, they have one of the best deals in Denver to offer. They offer Tapas for $4.50, and their tapas are actually small portions of their entrees. You can stuff yourself for $12. The happy hour drink menu is equally generous. Since it is only offered in the bar area, we sat at the bar the first couple of times and tried to talk to the short, dark haired bartender who is always there. Everything was an imposition to him. He seems to hate life, and even 2-3 people is enough tomake him think the world is coming to an end.

The next time we were in, we saw him at the bar so we sat at a table. Little did we know that he was the server! I just thought he hated me when I sat at the bar!

The last straw was when I went in with clients to actually sit in the dining room and enjoy the formal experience. When we got there, in spite of our reservation they told us it would be 10-15 min. No big deal, but one of my clients went to the bar to get drinks while we waited. He came back to report that the bartender had gotten snotty and actually rolled his eyes at him when he dared ask whether he should pay the bar or add the bill to our table. When I looked up at the bar to see who it was, guess who?!?!? The same little troll. This guy needs a vacation or some brain surgery.

Pros: Great Food

Cons: An extremely bad apple ruined the bunch

First off all, I just want to express how hard it was to find a simple, high end pasta meal here in Denver. I think we did it. It was my girlfriends birthday last Friday, and her one request was a simple spaghetti dinner with a good Italian sausage, and a nice bottle of red. After endless review, reviewing, I picked Venice. Part of the decision was based on location, a quick cab ride from the Cap Hill area. Because of last minute plans, we drove instead. We were quite happy to pay a few bucks for valet, as it was a busy and chilly night in Lo-Do. I had requested a romantic table knowing that this actually works once in a great while. We got it. She sat facing the quaintly Christmas lit street, while I had a great view of the massive wine cellar and softly lit wine bar. We were immediately served a warm basket of bread and oil, all made in house, and delicious. After viewing the quite extensive wine list, we received a nice free sample of Merlot but decided on the Raven Wood Zinfandel instead. The menu was also quite extensive, but offered a variety of choices. My girl decided not on the Spaghetti and sausage, but the Risotto con Spinaci e Salsiccia. I love a great olive oil, garlic pasta but could not find just what I was craving on the menu. I am not shy to ask for a special, so I did, and wow they nailed it. Prawns, garlic sauce and two large pieces of fabulous home made sausage. We hoped to spend around an hour during our stay, and thought we had hit it just right. After checking the time, we could not believe we had spent and hour and fifty minutes. How time flies when you are having fun. Thank you Dominique, you could not have been more helpful, and thank you Venice for making our evening a successful one. We will be back, and we have told all of our friends to take a peek.

We had the WORST service and the food was only OK...first the hostess was rude and sat us at a wobbly table. We asked to be moved which seemed to be a HUGE imposition for the staff. The waiter wasn't much better. It was oblivious he thought other tables would tip better so he smoozed them! We were ignored for most of the evening, no 2nd drink requests, no refills on our water or olive oil for our bread...
too bad...he would have gotten a good tip since we work in the hospitalily industry and appreciate good service! There must be other restaurants nearby who deserve my money.

I ate at the Venice Ristorante last night. Good food, but not excellent, good service but not excellent. The setting was fine except the tables for two are so close together you have to compete with other conversations. We had scampi and chicken, nice but certainly not anything memorable. The dessert was chocolate mousse it was outstanding. The service had long delays at the beginning and they served my girlfriend the wrong dish. Which was corrected, but awkward.

I went with 3 of my friends to Venice last Thursday and we had a wonderful time! I had one of the best pastas I've ever eaten in my life - a delicate ribbon pasta with seafood that was amazing. We tried each other's entrees and they were all excellent - I also really loved the veal scaloppine. Our waiter, Mark, helped us pick out a fairly inexpensive wine that went well with everything. And we all drank tap water and didn't feel any pressure to order bottled water or a more expensive wine?! My favorite thing, t hough, was a tour of the wine cellar (not really a cellar).

Our hotel made a reservation for our party so we thought why not. Well why not? First the hostess was about as rude and disorganized as possible. So we wait at the bar till our table was ready and have a drink. The bartender was rude and very uncourteous. When we we get to the table and asked about the specials the server just remarked they are on the menu and just read them... what? I noticed some tables being cateredto as though they were vips. I thought everyone in a restaurant was a vip, but no. We felt like just another number. The dining room wasnt crowded but when ever I asked for something my server was oh yeah I'll be right there. I gueass the custumer isnt right. I dont want to get into specifics but the cold shoulder doesnt work for me. I dont care how good the food was...

I made reservations for saturday night and was seated 30 min. late. I didnt think anything of that so it must be the place to dine. When we sat down our server was very pushy and unattentive. She pushed bottled water on us and when we asked for Denvers finest she just kopted an attitude. Then came the wine sale. When we refused the $300 bottle she reccomended she just shrugged her shoulders and made a snide remark. Now dont get me wrong, I myself work in the hospitalty industry and love when people spend money but in the hard economic times $300 bottles of wine are far and few between. But for a sarcastic, fake baked, and crossed-eyed ignorant server to belittle me on my anniversary is uncalled for. The food onthe other hand was terrific. BUT AGAIN MY SERVER WAS VERY UNATTENTIVE. When I stopped another server and asked for some more water he asked if I was drinking bottled and when I said no he said well I will try to find your server...can nobody fill water if its not in a bottle. Oh yeah whats with the $25 caesar salad that my little princess couldnt make or tell me the price. All and all the food was great but servers made my night a horrible experience.

The waiter we got at the restaurant was the dullest and most miserable waiter in the entire history of waiting. Of course the four eyed wonder freak probably has a miserable life so that probably translates over into his work and it showed. He complained about a 20% tip we gave him and said oh "it's worse than I thought". Who complains about a 20% tip. I thought he would be happy with that because the type of service he provides, he is probably used to a 2% tip all the time.

As for the food itself, it was just average at best. The hostess was very friendly and lovely. They do charge for their water though at $6 a bottle and they just keep refilling your glass and never tell you there is a charge for water.

Overall I'd say don't go to this restaurant unless it's to go knock out that no personality, four eyed, can't add waiter we got. If the owners of this restaurant read this review. One piece of advice if you don't want to go bankrupt. Be more selective of your wait staff and for sure fire that idiot waiter who works Monday nights in the lodo Venice.

When you see reviews like the previous one, you start to worry why people want to write what I believe is not true.
I have been a patron of Venice since their opening.
I think Venice offer a great value fore the quality of fresh food, ambiance, service and location.
The food and service are always top niche. The people working there are great and let' s not forget their incredible happy hour, voted by The Denver Post " The longest in Denver".
I hope Venice will continue to be successful and always busy.

I am unsure of how so many individuals can give this restaurant a high rating; perhaps they ate somewhere else and are mistaken, or they are employees...
We recently ate at Venice Ristorante. While the decor is well done, and the location great, it truly lacked any type of refined service. The waitstaff was pleasant, but not of the caliber you would expect in a nicer establishment. The food was good, but again, not as flavorful as one would expect for the price. We will not eat here again, as there are many more choices in Denver with better food and service for an equivalent price. My recommendation would be to either spend a bit more money for much better food, or spend less money for the same quality.

I set reservations for 5:30pm with my girlfriend for our anniversary. Right from the go our hostess seemed snobby and in a bad mood. Our waiter was the worst I've ever had. He never gave us service or checked up on us and the food took forever! We were in the restraunt for 1 hour before we even got our appetizers! I ordered a beer and when he asked me if I wanted another one, I said "no thank you". and he brought me another one! He wasn't listening to us all night. Not only that, but there are many hidden fees that they sneak in. The food was good, but it ruined what was supposed to be a very special night! DO NOT GO TO Venice Ristorante Italiano UNLESS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A BAD NIGHT!

I took my date at Venice last night.
The staff was great, Danielle took care of us.
She was very friendly and extremely helpful. She suggested our wine and our food.
She had us try the regional menu.
The presentation and the flavors in the food were amazing.
The ambiance did the rest. Ask for a table by the wine cellar.
Mario (I think he was the owner) brought us two glasses of moscato wines complimentary.
It was a very nice touch.
Venice is now my favorite restaurant.

Quality of food not bad, but not great. They forgot to bring all of our sides - the noise level in this restaurant is very high as well, so not conducive to holding discussions.

This is really an outstanding restaurant. The Chef' s table was an amazing experience.
The Chef & proprietor cooked our dinner.
Every dish was extraordinary, it was like a symphony.
The wine paired with the food was perfect (we had 5 different Italian wines, from 5 different region of Italy).
Mario (Maitre d') was very friendly and professional.
This was one of the greatest restaurant experience in my life.
The table setting was amazing and very romantic.
The price was only $60 per person.
Venice is really a gem.

The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and wine. The Antipasto platter satisfied all five of us. Had a variety of different pastas. I had heart-shaped ravioli stuffed with sundried tomatoes and potatoes with a pesto sauce. I've been craving it since we got back home!

I was at Venice last night with a good friend of mine.
We had one of the best dinner ever.
I was skeptical about Venice couple of years ago, but the service and the food are much better now.
The staff now is very well trained (we were impressed).
Try it out, it is worth the price.

Went to venice for dinner on wed. 6/25/08. My guest and I were served a mediocre 3 course meal on dirty plates and given greasy silverware to eat with. The wine was ridiculously over-priced. We asked our server to speak with management and they never came to our table. It appeared that management was to busy to attend to his restaurant or guests needs due to the fact that he was drinking with young women at the bar. After finishing our bottle of wine that was presented to us in a greasy, fingerprinted decanter, my guest and i attempted to end this disappointing experience. We walked out of the establishment and proceeded to walk along the patio of venice. To my disgust, there was the manager, with a much younger twenty-something woman that was now clearly intoxicated. my guest and i proceeded to watch this old man take off her sandal on his establishments patio in public and place her foot into his crotch. MY GUEST AND I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE DISGUSTED. OBSERVING THAT TYPE OF BEHAVIOR MADE ME FEEL VIOLATED I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW THAT YOUNG WOMAN FELT. I WILL NEVER WASTE MY TIME OR MONEY ON SUCH A DISGUSTING RESTAURANT AGAIN. VENICE PROVIDED ME WITH AN EXPERIENCE I CAN ONLY HOPE TO SOON FORGET.....

Myself and a group of convention business associates had a wonderful experience at Venice on Tuesday night. The Restaurant was recommended from a friend who had dined at the restaurant a couple of months ago and received a business card and a tour of the chef's table and wine "adega" from their waiter. If you have the opportunity to go to Italy...please do, otherwise Venice will do just fine. From the starters to the dessert it was just what we were looking for in our celebration of our company's success. Michael, our waiter, was one of the most attentive waiters we have had in many traveled cities. The recommendations of the Antipasto and Formaggi platters to the Housemade gnochi and the wonderful tasting menu from Umbria were perfect for all of us. Michael even customized our service to accomodate our large party and some of who did not want the 6 course tasting menus. We ended the night with Mario, the GM, making us a table side dessert of crepes and berries. What an ending to a perfect evening! We even had the owner, Allesandro, serve us part of our meal at the table with Michael. Go and experience for yourself!

This restaurant is BEAUTIFUL! This was my first visit to Venice. I brought two business colleagues and had heard good things about the restaurant. We were seated promptly at a table in the middle of he restaurant with a nice view of the wine cellar and outside. The wine list is incredible! We were greeted by a brunette server, Desirae. She told u sabout the evening features and recomended the ossobucco, veal, and halibut. I have been to many restaurants where their staff is not properly wine trained, but she was very knowledgeable and gave a great wine presentation. We ordered the Promis. I also recommend this wine. Mario came to our table and talked to us with his accent, making each of us feel welcomed. He also commented that our wine choice was a great wine. The food was delicious!! My clients were impresses, and I will definetly bring more clients there in the future!! This restaurant is truly a gem!

We love Venice in Italy and Venice in Denver.
If you want to be in Venice without flying go to Venice in LODO.
The food was like in Italy or maybe better.
We wait long time for a bottle of wine, but we did not mind, because the restaurant was a show to see.
The music was romantic, our meal was really great and the service was impeccable.
We will go back in two weeks to see if they are consistent.
Jorge, one of the manager, was very gracious and he had an Italian accent.

I have never experenced such attentive service and personal attention by the maitre di.
The menu is extensive as the wine list (I think the bigger wine list in denver).
Our food was delightful, not attitude from the staff.
The manager (Mario) came over the table couple different times, I loved his Italian accent.
My favorite dish was the veal saltimbocca and the gnocchi pesto.
It was worth every penny.
My new favorite place.

This place currently has a lot of knockoffs, starting with the $6.00 fee for valet parking--made even more distasteful when you get the bill, you don't expect this place to be low cost, but it is E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E. That is bad enough, but the food is mediocre at best, especially at their prices. We had a lamb dish, (small, fatty chops), a veal dish, also mediocre, tough and overcooked, very small spinach salads, (spinach is cheap). Short pour drinks, server even warned of this due to whoever was on the bar that night. Bar prices were not "short" however. Service was on and off, with our server disappearing for long periods. When not offered fresh pepper for the salads, I hailed a guy carrying a pepper grinder, he made the "oh for pete's sake, why are you bothering me", as he put out the pepper as asked. Probably will skip this one in the future, there are many places around Denver that are much better and more reasonably priced

I had a fabolous dinner on Jan 31st 2008.
The restaurant was full and still the food and the service were great.
The carpaccio was very fresh and had a great flavor, the cozze were presented in a big bowl,
I think at least e pound of greatly prepared mussels.
The risotto with sausage and my wife scaloppine were very tastfull.
Great wine list and great creme brulee.
Maybe the previous review was from another restaurateur close to this restaurant, and maybe he was
pist seeing Venice Restaurant so busy.
Any time we go Venice is always busy.

We were looking forward to our first time dining experience at Venice on NYE. We booked the reservation when a friend recommended the restaurant - italian food is our favorite so we were even more thrilled.
We ended up being seated by the front door and in a cramped area. Keep in mind it was less than 10 degrees that evening so the draft near the front wasn't exactly comfortable (we were moved one table over in between two smaller tables and we barely fit)
Our waiter didn't explain the menu whatsoever and kept asking if were ready to order. He proceeded to tell us "he had a lot of tables" (basically don't ask questions, I'm "busy" attitude) He didn't smile one time.
After zero help from the waiter we decided on our six course meals. I chose the all seafood ($100) menu and my dining partner chose the end meal with veal shank ($70). All the evening specials came with one bottle of wine.
The salad was fine...then, the meal started to deteriorate quickly. The seafood was extremely "fishy" and the pasta sauce in each dish (for both) was too salty to eat. I explained our disappointment and the waiter shrugged it off....he brought out the dessert and said, "I made this with extra salt". Our dining experience was not a joke and his comment was not acceptable. The meal was the absolute worse we've ever had - ever. The veal was so bad we wouldn't feed it to our dog (very fatty and salty). We overheard other patrons complain. We saw that they were getting attention from managers. They received an apology, but we only received an smart remark. From all the salt we were thirsty - no doubt - but our water glasses were only filled one time. We walked out with cotton-mouth.
We will never go back to Venice. The service was disgustingly rude and the food was the same, disgusting. I feel robbed for having to pay $200 for a meal that was worth much, much less.
The next day we decided to have a better Italian meal at Panzano's. Everything was fresh and service was impeccable!

This restaurant is one of my favorite one.
I go every week, for happy hours or for dinner.
Venice staff is always friendly and professional.
They just add few more dishes to the happy hours.
I think is the best happy hours $3 food and $5 drinks and wine.
If you want they will let you go inside the wine cellar, it is a great experience.
The food is great and consistent.
My favorite server is Desiree.

The restaurant is beatifull. Great music and ambience.
Andrea Bocelli was playing during our dinner.
The gnocchi scarpariello were a melt in your mouth dream.
My risotto with salsiccia was to die, the truffle oil made it perfect.
My husband loved the lamb ossobuco.
The crespelle was a great finish.
Great restaurant.

Went to Venice Ristorante this weekend with a group of 4 ordering apps, wine and entrees. The apps were good (meat and cheese in particular were good) and the extensive winelist had some very good selections. The entrees on the other hand fell far short of our expectations -- they were not horrible just lacked taste and similar to what I would expect in a downscale restaurant. The only person who was somewhat satisfied with their selection had ordered the bone-in steak. The waitress was very nice. I would not choose to return. On a side note, when we tried to valet our car coming in and pick it up afterward, there was a long wait as no attendant was on site.
