This is my favorite restaurant in Denver. The prices are reasonable, the staff is attentive and the specials are awesome! If you manage to have enough room for dessert (which I rarely do) the desserts are always fresh and delicious.

My husband and I went to the neighborhood restaurant 730 South for New Years Eve and had a fantastic experience! We made reservations, which is a good idea because they were packed! When we got there we were greeted by the hostess, she had a table waiting for us so we were seated promptly. Our server was a cute, younger gal who was very attentive without being annoying. I had a lot of questions about the menu and she answered every one of them and was able to switch my side dishes to anything I wanted. The food was incredible. My husband ordered the Prime rib, (which was one of their 8 specials for the night) and said it was perfect! Cooked exactly how he wanted it and had a generous portion of some sort of gratin potatoes that were delicious. I ordered the Bacon wrapped scallops (highly recommend), also cooked perfectly and again I got to choose any side, not just the ones listed with the dish. For dessert, were ordered the featured Peach cobbler a la mode, which was to die for! Definitely homemade and fresh, we got ours with a side of caramel to add to the ice cream.
They were really busy with several large parties, but our food still came out in what I thought was pretty fast considering it was so busy. And my husband and I agreed that for what we got, the food was reasonably priced, plus you can print out a coupon from their website.
Overall we had a absolutely wonderful night, and we will DEFINITELY be going back!

I went to 730 South on November 29th for brunch with my inlaws and newborn son. The hostess was very friendly and and accomodating to us. By far the best part of the visit. The food was adequate, nothing to write home about.

We'll be back, mainly beacuse of the close proximity to our home and the friendly staff.

I eat out pretty much every meal. 730 is one of the best places in town. Great service, great food, great happy hour. What more can you ask for? The owner, Larry, is always out talking with the guests and it really makes you feel at home. I can always count on 730, whether I'm on a date or just in for a beer and a burger. When my parents are in town they insist we go for the eggs benedict (no lie..best in town!). I highly recommend it if you like a relaxed atmosphere with a personal touch.

My husband and I eat at Seven 30 frequently and we love it. We tend to sit in the bar and always have great service. The staff is always friendly and accomadating to my gluten free diet. The staff and owner are very attentive and make us feel at home. Over the weekend our family was in town and we came in for dinner. We sat in the dining room, which we rarely do, and it was a great experience. My father is hard of hearing and our waiter was so patient and exceptionally kind. We had three courses that were nicely timed and delicious. My parents can be quite the resturant connoisseurs having owned a resturant and they too loved it. In fact they wanted to dine there the next morning for brunch, had they not been leaving to go back to New York. Aside from our frequent visits for dinner we also love their happy hour, best in town!

We tried a Saturday brunch at Seven 30 South to celebrate some family birthdays. The omelettes, eggs benedict, etc. that we ordered were fine--nothing extraordinary, but fine for brunch fare. I personally appreciated that they had a Gluten Free menu. However, in all of our interactions with the hostess, she was terse, sullen, and unprofessional. First, no one was at the hostess podium when we arrived, so a man in the bar area greeted us and started to seat us. The hostess arrived as he was getting our menus, and stood there sullenly without a greeting while he took us to our table. They had arranged a table with eight chairs for our party of seven, four on each side of three tables placed together. This was fine, but as we were getting settled we noticed that one of us would be left hanging out on one end with an empty chair across from them, so we thought it would be better to remove one of the tables and place a chair at the head. I approached the unsmiling hostess and asked her in a friendly manner if that would be ok. She just stood there with a "why the hell would you want to do that?" expression. As I tried to explain why, and she just continued to glare. Thankfully, our waitress overheard and knew what I meant. She immediately took care of our request. Next, the hostess helped deliver our plates, but my Gluten Free order came out with a croissant on top of the food. I said that I had ordered Gluten Free, to which she pursed her lips and put the plate back on the tray. My dad started to explain that I would need a new plate since even a crumb would make me sick, and she snapped, "I understand." Our waitress came to the table a moment later and did the professional thing: apologized for the mix up and told us a new plate would be out shortly. There were a few more minor interactions in which the hostess continued to act put off and annoyed. That really soured our experience. Even with our nice waitress and the OK brunch fare, I am not eager to return or recommend Seven 30 South. Perhaps if you get a different hostess you'll have a better experience.

Seven 30 South is a excellent restaurant! The menu is so diverse I can get something different every time and I have never been disappointed. From daily fish or meat specials, pastas, large salads, sandwiches, burgers, they have it all. The Brunch on Saturday and Sunday is one of the best in town. They also have a great Happy Hour. Brian and Mel are two of the best bartenders around. They are always friendly and helpful to everyone. This place is great for all ages. They accommodate families with small children, people on dates, or just hanging out with friends. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant, it is highly recommended!

The title says it all for the crying kids in the bar. Is it even legal to have kids in a bar area? Crying infants are not the way to relax with a drink after work.............. Bartenders show preference and new customers are last to be served. This is an OLDER CROWD(50+) of regulars and the bartenders cater to them vs welcoming new customers.

My boyfriend and I came here about 2 weeks ago. We were looking for something casual, but nice. After reading the reviews and checking out the menu (not to mention that their web site had a coupon for $20 off of a bottle of wine...) we decided that it would be a good place to go. When we first walked in there was no one at the hostess stand. One gal, who I suppose was the hostess, kept running around all crazy. When the wait staff would approach her she would snap at them and say she didn't have any menus, etc. Then one couple came to the stand and she said that she didn't have their reservation and there was nothing she could do about the wait. I'm not in hospitality, but I think she should have apologized and said she would seat them as soon as possible...However, once we were seated things were fine. The bread and dipping sauce was very yummy. The wine was good (and just about free!) Both our dinners were fine, nothing amazing, but good. Our server was attentive, pleasant and polite. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. I feel like I would have a better opinion if it hadn't been tainted by the hostess's attitude towards the people around her. It's definitely worth checking out though if you want just want a casual, nice, neighborhood place to relax.

I had high expectations for this restaurant after checking out all the reviews. I am a vegetarian, and unfortunately there were not many vegetarian-friendly items on the menu. So I decided to choose the tomato basil soup, which I normally love and it's usually hard to do wrong. But this was by far the WORST tomato basil soup I've ever had, and I am not a picky eater. It tasted like watered-down tomato paste from a can. If you want good tomato basil soup, get the bisque at Safeway instead. On the positive sides, though, the atmosphere was nice, service was good, and for desert we got the chocolate toffee mousse, which was rich, creamy, and delicious.

This is a nice local restaurant on University in Bonnie Brae. They have a very large menu with a variety of prices from burgers to steaks. We had brunch there not too long ago. The frittata was very good and the breakfast burrito with a chipotle holandaisewas worth going back for.

Prices range from a $8 burger to a $23 steak, so there was something for everyone on the menu. I ended up getting the fish and chips, which was delicious. They let me switch out the coleslaw and french fries for cottage cheese and white rice. Service was extremely fast and friendly. I'll definitely eat here again the next time I make it out to Denver. Well worth the price.

My grandma took me here for the first time today and I loved it! It's a cross between the Cherry Creek Grille and the Wash Park Grille, only brighter and more casual...kind of a lunch version of two of my favorite restaurants. I loved the exposed brick and the dark wood. The bread and pesto dip was absolutely divine, as was the chicken burrito I ordered. I bumped into some old friends on the way out, which was a lovely surprise and made me feel right at home. They told me that it was one of their favorite lunch restaurants. I give it a few months until this place becomes one of the most popular neighborhood hangouts in the Wash Park area. I'm so glad my grandma discovered it!

I went to Seven 30 South for my first time last month and have been back several times since. The parking at first was hard but then I saw you could park on the street right behind the restaurant. Once inside it feels like your home, very comfortable, brick walls hardwood floors. They have a huge menu and I have tried many things. The hamburger is very juicy and I love the sweet potato fries. This is not a fancy restaurant. It is what I call a grab a bite to eat place. You know you will always have a good meal at a good price. I had the enchiladas that the other reviewer had and loved them. The weekend brunch is awsome as is the happy hour. I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual meal.

I can never figure out what to order at this warm & inviting local restaurant. I beg my fellow diners to order different things so I can spoil my taste buds with all of the melt in my mouth tidbits. I use my selling techniques to convince each person that they have to try the eggplant, the burger, fish & chips, chicken pot-pie and lobster quesadillas....mmmmmmmm.....the service has always been impecable and the prices are very reasonable. The portions are enough for leftovers and usually they taste as good if not better that the first time. I won't share the veal schnitzel with anyone! Lately I have budgeted valuable belly space for the Chocolate Kahlua Toffee Mousse cake or the White Chocolate Bread pudding. Hurry up and GO GO GO!

My friends & I needed a place to celebrate a Birthday Brunch and we stumble upon 730 South. It has been years since we've been there and were pleasantly surprise by how wonderful it was. I had the breakfast burrito with a chipotle holandaise, nice touch. my friends had the Pesto Omelete, the Salmon Benedict, and Club Sandwich. We were all very impressed with the food and great service.

The only thing that I didn't like very much was my potatoes. It was cold and not very fresh at 11:30am

Enjoyed it , great value, and we would go back.

I dined at 730 South five nights ago with 8 other girlfriends, due to a recommendation. I must say the service and food were excellent. I was scepticle at first beacause usually places that have a large menu ( no specific cusine) don't do that great of a job because they try to please everyone. But all of my girlfriends had different entrees and each one was great. I was very impressed with the quality of my Trout. The server was very attentive and never let or drinks get empty. One of my friends went there yesterday for lunch and said, "again it was a great experience." The only down fall is the parking lot, but I was told to just park on the street. We will all be back.

I went to 730 South Restaurant the other day at a coworkers recommendation and I found that this spot was everything that I was looking for. The food was outstanding, the ambiance warm and comfortable, and the staff friendly and attentive. I travel a lot, so finding somewhere that makes me feel at home and welcome is huge for me. I recommend the killer shrimp, any of the steaks or pastas, and a martini or their feature wine selections. If you eat out more than 1 time a week, give this place a try. Cheers.

Cheers.

Pros: Great neighborhood spot

Cons: There is only one in Denver

I came here on a Saturday night. We had reservations which I would recommend, although if you don't mind eating in the bar area, there was still seating available there. I ordered the soup of the day to start with, which was lobster bisque. Very delicious although a tad bit salty for my tastes. For my entree I ordered the salmon, which was absolutely fantastic. Service was only average--our waiter disappeared for lengths of time and I probably could have fit another beverage into my meal if he had only come by often enough. Also, adding soup to an entree is a reduced price from ordering soup separately, but he had initially tried to charge all of us full price for our add-on soups. He did fix all of our bills without delay. The food here makes up for the average service. Parking can be tough in the lot for the restaurant; there is parking available at the Library on the corner of the street if needed.

I am shocked by any bad reviews of this place. I eat brunch there every Sunday and if you don't like the hollandaise, you don't know what hollandaise is. It is definetly homemade and doesn't have mayo in it. They are packed for brunch every week with most people ordering eggs benedict. That other reviewer needs to get a clue. I have also been there for dinner and have never been dissapointed. There is not another restaurant in town that can offer this much variety and value. Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

I have just moved here and decided to try this place. Don't bother? Service STINKS!!! Waited for ever for our server to even come by our table, server messed up our order and blamed it on us. Food below average and bland. We complained because 2 out of the 4 meals we ordered were cold. Nobody seemed to care. Manager hanging out in bar oblivious to concerns of patrons. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!

After reading all the reviews on this place I thought for sure it would be worth it. We just moved here from out of town and we are big eggs benedict fans always trying out new places. We saw this listed as "The best eggs benedict in Denver" HA! Yea right. Did the staff choose this title themselves? The hollandaise sauce here was disgusting. It was made with mayonaise and just tasted like mayo and butter mixed. no seasoning or real flavor. The staff was rude upon entry. No greeting, no smile and our waiter seemed like a robot.

The overall vibe at this place was just strange. I definitely would not return here.

I brought some business associates here for dinner and we all agreed that this place exceeded our expectations. We started with some great calamari,, very tender. I had a filet mignon that was cooked perfectely. My associates thought the bread and dip was superb. I have been herre for brunch many times and the eggs benedict is some of the best in the country. My server Ellington anticipated our needs and did not intrude on our meeting. I would recommend this gem for any occasion.

I've been here many times and I'm shocked at the bad reviews I've read. I love this restaurant, not because it's the absolute BEST food I've had or the service is the absolute BEST, but everything is good. I've never had a dish, I haven't been pleased with. They have a good menu with a variety of tasty dishes. The price is affordable and I can always find something that sounds good. The staff is friendly, attentive, and I've never had BAD service. The eggs bennedict on the brunch menu is the absolute best I've had in town, and I've tried it at many restaurants around town - at least 10-15 breakfast places, so that says something in itself. And the desserts, I think I've tried most on the menu are good choices as well. I'll keep coming here for years to come.

My husband and I tried out Seven 30 South during restaurant week. The service was so/so and so was the food. It felt like an Applebee's minus the flair. Our drinks were pretty slow coming and in general the ambience and people lacked personality. The rigatoni was something like I threw together in college with frozen peas and all. The bread pudding was pretty bad and the portion was so massive, I felt like it was a bad batch they were trying to get rid of. It wasn't such a horrible experience that I thought I got sick, but there's plenty of other restaurants in Denver... try somewhere else.

They have amazing happy hour specials and its a great place for a date night! Can't say enough good things about this place. This quaint little spot on So. University is a great "date night" spot for Mr & Mrs Food Snob. Last visit, the tomato basil soup, crab and lobster wontons and the lightly breaded and pan seared Talapia was just right. This place is an easy stop for a quiet, romantic, light, neighborhood meal with your best friend. The deserts are always good, but..... and they probably wont like my telling this, but .... the ice cream across the street is very nice after dinner.

I have been eating at this cozy neighborhood bistro for years and have never had anything but great food and service. There is always plenty of on street parking in the neighborhood, The prices are great and the portions are big. Bonnie Brae is lucky to have this non-chain gem in the neighborhood. You can eat here for any occasion, business, date or family.

I came here on a Sunday morning for brunch with my boyfriend. Well we were seated promptly, but that's where all the good things ended. Our waiter was a complete idiot, and after waiting for 15 minutes for drinks, we were heated. The owner was walking around talking to every table, but skipped over ours. I think he knew that we were upset, but he didn't seem to care. It took 20 minutes to get our bill, and we wanted to walk out without paying because it wasn't even worth 2 cents. Our waiter did not get tipped, and I put my words in with the owner before we left. Go at your own risk if you want nasty food along with horrible service

Great place for parents to come with or without the kids and have a friendly, quiet (really!), classy meal in a pleasant atmosphere for a reasonable price. Very Bonnie Brae but not too much of Wash Park.

Food is "ok" but has improved since their newest chef a couple of years back. The Bar is great for an evening drink while the kids are still with the sitter.

Enjoy it. It's classy and not pretentious.

Its hard to find small, family owned, non-chain restaurants in Denver, but this is one of them. They have great brunch, and try cosmo night on Wendesdays. This is a great happy hour place that no one seems to know about.
