Margaritas are NOT the same

by Steve L.

Margaritas are NOT the same - they changed the recipe and are not nearly as good. The must not be putting Everclear in the mix anymore. Sure miss the old Margaritas!!

Great Margaritas & Fast Service

by Shannon A. | insider Insider | Rank: 27,152

I have had excellent experiences every time I've eaten at the Rio. Their queso is so delicious and the veggie enchiladas were wonderful. And be sure to try the margaritas - tasty and strong. They'll cut you off after a couple!

I've been with friends & family, but I've also hosted a couple of holiday parties there with great success. They are quick to bring the drinks and the food is always out fast and hot.

For our group events, we enjoyed the private room upstairs and had several servers at our disposal for the entire time. There was plenty of food and everyone really enjoyed the location.

Giant Margatitas

by JM J. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,233

My girlfreind and I met one of her freinds here for drinks and appetizers. Appetizers were the usual chips and salsa, quacemole, and nachoes, but the drinks were something special. We each had one of their giant margs and they were all that we needed. Great party place.

Let's Get the Party Started!

by Angela R. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 603

This is probably the dinner party spot in all of Denver. I like the food, but really, everyone goes to the Rio Grande for the Margaritas! They are killer. I like the upstairs and the party atmosphere for a social get together.

Best Margaritas For Your $

by Jolene G.

I love the Rio Margaritas, they are definitely the best bang for your buck. Unlike many restaurants were you pay $8-$10 for a weak drink, at the Rio you definitely get a great drink for the price. They are not kidding around with the 3 Marg limit! The food i will admit is just ok, I do recommend the burrito and you like spicy food go for the hot green chili it is awesome!

Good Choice for Mexican Food!

by Anonymous

My family and I decided to try out Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant. We were well pleased with the facility both inside and out. The service was fast and friendly the first time we went there. The second time we went the service was a little bit slower, but still good. The food was also really good. My husband is part Mexican, he knows good Mexican food when he tastes it, the fact that we went back a second time, says it all. So, if your looking for a nice Mexican Restaurant to dine at in the area so far I have found I like this one the best!

Lots of hype

by ZachOnSkis

Not sure where to start since it's all so horrible. Service, food and even their famous drink is bad bad bad!!

When I went with friends the doors were left open and a lot of flies had checked in for the season and were attacking all the of sticky tables and furniture. I know flies come in without an invitation... but if the staff and management actually cared and cleaned up it would probably not be a fly colony.

When we tried to change tables our server was MIA. Food runners just dropped off the drinks and food and ran off (probably scared of the flies attacking them). Maybe they want you to be so drunk you don't notice how bad it is. The whole experience was not pleasant. We would have done better at a fast food joint and paid less.

In this economy there are better places to spend your hard earned $$!

Pros: Good PR since it's a chain

Cons: Bad everything

The best Margaritas!

by davenan

My favorite Margaritas hands down! On the rocks is best. Quite sweet but balanced with almost the perfect amount of sour. And that strength. I crashed my bicycle after three (and jello shooters down the street) but it was worth it, dammit. The food is good, not very memorable but they contrast well with the Margartias. I recommend going to the 3 Margarita limit, then switch to Carta Blanca. The downside (there has to be a downside)? You will never love another kind of Margarita again.

Pros: Margaritas, Chips, Margritas

Cons: Crowded, Hard to get a drink

a good choice

by bmvasque

I have come to this restaurant twice already and both times had good service and the food was great. I especially love salsa tuesdays where a professional salsa dancer gives free lessons upstairs and then it's dancing on your own. It's a fun place to go and just hang out and drink Margaritas

Awesome place

by eduardo1

Now that they've been open a few months everything is really great. The food is terrific and really well priced, and you can't beat their margs - easily the best in the state! Thank god for a fun place to go out drinking in the Park Meadows area.
