Drinks good. Service not good for me. My friend and I went in tonight at 1:10 am. I was ignored by the female bartender. We were finally servered by another bartender. Literally five minutes after we get served the female bartender comes by and tells us that she needs to take our drinks. Upon asking her why (super nicely) she says last call. I need your drinks, Aware that it's only 1:30 am I explain that I've taken only a couple sips from my glass and ask if she could come around in a few minutes to do this. She insists on having our glasses now. She tells me that when the lights go off, it's last call. I say, I wasn't aware that lights had gone off, there was notification and that it's not that big of a deal, may I at least enjoy part of the drink I just paid for? (i mean come on, are you kinding me? I'm totally sober and just want to enjoy this drink) I felt totally harassed by her. She walks away at that moment and this is pretty shocking....but the next thing I know the guy bartender is running towards me. She had gone over to him and talked with him. I literally see this big man coming at me full speed. So I hear him telling about the drink. I walk around the pool table trying to get away from this raging guy. He's chasing me in an effort to get the drink from me and I'm thinking (This is crazy and totally uncalled for) He jumps on top of the pool table and karate chops the beer out of my hand. I cannot believe I had to a part of such a threatening and outrageous event. I did nothing wrong. It's really sad that one bad barender (or one that decides for some random reason that she's not going to like you) can ruin an entire night. In the end, all I can say is I forgive you for being so wrong tonight. You treated my with such disrespect. I'm calling you out because you chose to bully and mistreat a new and promising customer.

Pros: good music

Cons: questionable bartenders/staff

.

I came here on a Saturday night before a concert at the Ogden. This is a great place to stop before a show. Dulcinea's drinks are inexpensive; much cheaper than at the Ogden. The couches were an interesting idea but they kind of look gross and remind me of couches that would sit outside a college fraternity house all year. Unfortunately I couldn't stay long enough to see a band perform.

Un-aesthetically pleasing, I say. The floorplan doesn't allow for much mingling, as the bar and sofas are set up like a bowling alley. The music, however, was great! Not many places I've been in Denver have that sort of crowd-pleasing jazz right up your face like that. Nothing terribly original, but a good deviation from the normal sports bar or trendy hot-spot.

Pros: good prices, stiff drinks, cute staff

Cons: unfriendly staff, minimal walkspace, not for conversations

is that at a certain point, upon reaching a critical mass it'll catch on and everyone will start doing it! That's what the monkey is about and that's what'll happen. This place is happening! Comfortable, INCREDIBLE music, and a great staff..... from those that continue to bring you all the same. Thanks Bianchi bros.....AND Jim!!!

If you are looking for a place to hang out with friends and listen to great music, you've found it. This is not your average East Colfax bar...the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, similar to hanging out at a friends house only with great live jazz. Highly recommend wed/sat nights when the Jessica Goodwin group is playing!
