.

We have had a gas leak in our apartment for awhile now (not sure how long, the odor is not that noticeable until the leak gets bigger). We did not know it was there until Friday night (08-15-08) because there was a strong odor of gas. We called maintenance and one guy came out and looked at our water heater. He did not know how to look for a gas leak and had been working at QR for six months. He said we should call the gas company instead. We did and they arrived at around 11:30 p.m. that night. The gas company person replaced a pipe connected to the water heater that had three holes in it. However, we still had a gas leak in the back of the water heater where he could not get to. That would require taking out the whole water heater to fix it. The maintenance person said he put in our work order to let the office know what happened. It is now Tuesday (08-19-08) and we went into the office to see if he reported our gas leak. The head office people did not know what we were talking about. The office said they would send out another maintenance person (08-19-08) to completely take out our water heater and fix the gas leak that is in back of the water heater and clean up the dust around it (carbon monoxide danger). The maintenance person said he would only be a half an hour and he would be there to fix it. It is now closing time at the office here (5 p.m.) CO time and no one has showed up to fix our gas leak. How long do I have to live with this gas leak before we blow up? The maintenance person just came by at 5:05 p.m. (08-19-08) and said he would be by first thing in the morning to fix the leak. I thought this was a serious issue that needed to be fixed immediately or am I wrong? This is not the only problem we have had with this place, the neighbors are awful and party on the weekends and sometimes during the week days till 3 a.m. and they let their kids run up and down the stairs and scream their heads off and they slide down the banister railing all day long when they are outside during the day. I have reported that 3 times to the office over the summer with no success. This is one apartment I do not recommend if you like your privacy, peace and quiet, and don't feel like blowing up because of an unfixed gas leak.
