I purchased my first BMW in 2003. I immediately took it to one of the other places who tried to sell me a bunch of services I didn't need and that had just been done. I then found Robert and won't go anywhere else. I won't even buy a different car for fear that Robert won't be able to work on it. The man is a saint and has saved me more times than I can count. He takes the word 'emergency' seriously, works himself and his staff to the bone to get it done, charges fairly and accurately, shows me my expired parts, and keeps me laughing the whole time. Anyone who thinks he's been cheated by Robert needs to examine his own integrity because it's certainly not Robert who has the problem.

I have known Robert for over 20 years and worked on all my BMWs over the years. He is the only guy I trust when dealing with all the problems with these cars. He will do what you tell him. If you say get it running and safe and cheap thats what he will do. If you say make if perfect then everything will be fixed and done right. Make sure to clearly tell him what needs to be fixed and he will even use used parts to keep the costs down if you agree to that.

Feel free to trust him and letting you use a loaner is a nice perk!

My husband is on his 2nd BMW and has taken them both there for service. Robert is a friendly and very helpful guy. He is always quick to call and let us know what is wrong, and has NEVER done anything that wasn't needed. I know enough about cars to know when someone is pulling my leg, and he has NEVER been that guy! He has even thrown in some small misc. repairs free of charge. He usually has the car ready the same day I bring it in, and gives me a loaner to drive if I need one. He and his guys check the whole car out every time it goes in. Anyone who had a bad experience with him probably brought it on themselves. This guy is good to the core, and excellent at what he does. I just bought my 1stBMW - from him. I would recommend him to anyone. Fair and honest shop!

Robert is an ace mechanic who has an almost intuitive ability to diagnose cars. He truly likes the Bimmers and air-cooled Porsches on which he works, and is always entertaining talk to. Whenever I go in, people are hanging out, just to see what he's up to. I've had my last three cars serviced there, and Robert has shown a passion for seeing the work done right, and making these vehicles as fun to drive as possible. As for the critical reviews, I suspect people bring their own drama with them.

I'm a shade-tree mechanic, but when I need deeper experience or quick turnaround he's the man. I've been taking my cars to Robert at Bavarian Autohaus since I moved to Denver metro 10 years ago; back then, my 30 year old BMW's rear-end suddenly made really bad sounds on my drive home. A block from a BMW dealer, I pulled in and they diagnosed it as a bad driveshaft (estimate: $1200); I towed it to Robert and he correctly diagnosed and replaced the differential ($400). My family now has three older BMWs (one just back from his shop with a new starter) and several of my neighbors now take their BMWs to his shop.

As another reviewer mentioned, he's helped me troubleshoot on the phone and encouraged me to take on simpler jobs myself. He can be colorful and his shop isn't pretty, but his experience and commitment to the make can't be beat.

It's shocking to hear that people have had such unsavory experiences with Robert. My e46 325i and I were in an accident in late '05. I needed a lot of work done to the front driver side wheel, brake and axel systems... Not only did Robert squeeze my car into his schedule the morning I called, but he also assured me that my car would be completed by the time I got off of work that day, and it was! He even had one of his shop hands drive me to and from work!!!

So perhaps the guy is bi-polar or something because my service couldn't have been more desireable.. and oh yeah... the grand total of my bill after labor was $1400 less than Farmers Insurance had estimated and she ran just like new again.

Robert is the most rude unprofessional individual I've ever dealt with. I took my BMW to Bavarian Autohaus because we had damaged oil return hoses. Robert kept the car for almost a month stating that he was unable to locate new hoses anywhere in the state. Every time I came by to check the progress of the work he had an excuse why he hadn't worked on the car. I took the search on myself and located the hoses off of Sante Fe & Titan rd. which I personally picked up and paid for. I took the hoses to Robert. Another few weeks went by...Finally after a frustrating longer than necessary wait, he finished the car. My balance for the work was $900.00. I protested the fee and he instantly became enraged. He threatened to keep the car, told me that he would only take cash because he didn't accept my kind of money. After throwing a complete tantrum, he verbally assaulted my wife and I, he refused payment of any source except for "Cash". He threatened to keep the vehicle and back charge us a storage fee. I called the police to mediate the matter. The police came out, apparently not the first time and nearly arrested Robert for assault. Here's the real kicker...A week after getting the car back, apparently the hoses were misrouted when installed which caused a fire and more damage. This was a very frustrating and expensive experience.

Pros: Hmmm?

Cons: Customer svc. Professionalism, efficiency, Price

Our BMW 328i had the engine die on us in FEBRUARY. It was towed to Bavarian Autohaus to assess and fix the problem. The owner, Robert, said that he would look for a replacement engine for us and that the repair could cost between $7k and $8k depending on the replacement engine. He told us that he could not find an engine and would start charging us $100/mo for storage until he found one. This is pure fiction about him not finding an engine - do the search yourself and see how quickly you can find a replacement engine. Robert never looked for an engine to repair our vehicle (by his own admission in front of the police officers). We have contacted BMW's customer service department via the internet to find another shop that would be willing to do the work after waiting for months for Robert's shop to give us ANY communication regarding the vehicle. About a week ago (End of SEPTEMBER), he left us a message on voice mail telling us that we needed to "settle our bill" or we would be sent to collections. We have now had to pay for storage of the vehicle without him actually doing any of the work necessary to fix it or looking for an engine. It is now October, and we are going to take our BMW somewhere else at the recommendation of BMW's Customer Satisfaction department. The first 3 months delay was due to Robert's own personal family issues preventing him from working on the vehicle, and the remaining 4 has been his simple neglect to repair the vehicle. The only communication we have received with Bavarian Autohaus in the past 4 months was the voice mail advising us that we needed to pay or face collections. Robert's side of the story is that we never authorized him to do the repair. We had to call the police because he would not accept a $400 cashier's check and insisted on CASH. You know something is wrong when the police officer says "I'm getting really sick of coming here." Civil records are public records. Do your own research before trusting him.
