Tuscany has been named one of four Denver establishments to receive the Distinguished Restaurants of North America, known as DiRoNA for 2006. The Tuscany has been a long standing dining icon in Denver delivering outstanding Italian cuisine with fresh ingredients from best regions of Italy. Featured signature dishes include, a savory Prosciutto Fig Gorgonzola Tart and Butter Nut Squash Risotto with Roasted Pears and Pancetta. A grand fireplace, cozy oversized chairs and attentive service and an impressive wine list, with hand picked selections from private vineyards in Italy complete the experience.

In Short
Neutral beige tones dominate the semi-elegant dining room, which is brought to life by the occasional Italian countryside-themed painting, pen-and-ink drawings and an attractive central fireplace. Round tables and tasteful booths provide copious amounts of elbow room and space for quiet conversations. The Tuscan fare here is characterized by fresh ingredients. Mouthwatering ceppo pasta (tubular noodles without ribs) mixed with roasted chicken, caramelized onions, Gorgonzola and spinach is worth a return visit.

The Inside Scoop

  1. Save Money - Enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drink specials at their happy hour (Mon-Fri 4:30pm-6pm).
  2. Know Before You Go - Linger over a drink. A large Italian fresco facing the mirror-backed bar adds authentic touches to the comfortably elegant lounge.
  3. Look Good - This is the perfect spot for South Colorado Boulevard business people who are seeking an upscale restaurant for wheeling and dealing.

Not the greatest Italian Restaurants around. The service is horrible! It takes them 40 minutes to get the drinks out to the table. You tell me, How long does it take to get a drink out on the table? I be thirsty. My friend told me about this place, so I went and tried it out and she was right. I would not recommend it.

Ratings_icons Excellent place for atmosphere, well presented food, and quality taste

Because this restaurants address is in a questionable part of town, I was convinced they had mocked up photos on their web site. However, I was extremely suprised to find this fancy hotel in the midst of not so fancy housing (colorado and mississippi). Tuscany was very tasteful in its atmosphere. Quaint without being country and fine dinning enough to feel spoiled but not sutffy.
The food was very original. Each course was presented well. The soup was absolutely delicious. As was the beef fillet. It melted in my mouth. The desert was so so. I had the tropical custard, which was alittle to close to a jello cup dressed up for fine dinning. The Kalua cake had a good flavor but was very crusty and seemed over cooked. However, they made up for it by going the extra mile and made us an authentic Mojito.Even though it wasn't on the menu.
If you are looking for just the normal American hotel fair then don't bother paying for it here go across the street. But if you are looking for a Top Chef or Food Network experience this is a good place to start.

Pros: Atmosphere and unique food choices

Cons: small portions and so so desserts

I went to the Tuscany Restaurant last night on a whim and had actually looked at the aforementioned reviews thinking this would be a great date place. Well, the atmosphere was up to the standards, so if you are looking for just a place to have a drink with nice decor and great service, then you've found the place. The food on the other hand is a different story. The bread that is delivered at the beginning of the meal was unedible. The entrees were almost up to par. I'm really hoping that i caught this restaurant on an off night.

Ratings_icons Exceedingly Poor Service

chappell6018

Took family for a special Valentines dinner. Kids ages 5 and 8. Welcoming was very cordial and very nice atmosphere. Food was good, but not worth the exorbitant price for the holiday meal. Unfortunately, at the time of the reservation, they made no mention of the high price of the meal per person. Service was very poor. Took almost 2 hours to get our meal. The kids fell asleep and did not eat because of the very long wait, a big waste of time and money. Sent an e-mail to management, but they did not respond. The lack of response also indicates the poor service that they provide in general. I would not go back even if they offered a free meal.

Pros: Food good but not worth the price.

Cons: Service exceedingly poor both by wait staff and managment.

Ratings_icons Best Italian Kept Secret in Denver

lpollack

Everyone I had ever talked to about Tuscany and the T-bar said this place is only for special occations....Boy are they wrong. This resturant has the best food I have ever tasted in Dever and I have lived here for over 20yrs. Who new, I would go there for any reason, but mostly for the great service, beautiful room and outstand food. This is not your typical tomato sauce and pasta Italian restaurant, it is a dining experience of all regions of Italy. The wine list has a vast selection and is priced reasonably....They do have the big boys on the list if you are a consieur. They other thing I was told by others is that it is pricey...I beg to differ that the prices were in line if not more reasonable then the great eaterys in Cherry Creek that do not offer free Valet Parking!!! I also went there the other night after work and enjoyed there great happy hour with live entertainment and great drink specials! I would suggest Tuscany and or T-Bar to anyone especially if you have not been there in years!

Pros: Free Valet Parking, Being in a hotel there were people in Jeans and also Suits and all were treated the same

Cons: The dining room is intamite and fills up quickly

Ratings_icons Lovely dinner -

t_girl_dining

As far as a hotel restaurant, I would recommend Tuscany. The menu offered a great selection of unique-sounding and curiosity-rousing entres - I chose the elk, which was delicious! Lean, cooked medium in a tasty sauce with potatoes and buk choy(?). For dessert I had the plum and goat cheese tart, which was yummy but could of had more of the blood-orange sauce to moisten it up a bit more. The service was polite and prompt, food great - and overall recommended.

Pros: Convenient to guests, Menu selection, Pleasant ambience

Cons: Far from city center

I recently dined at the Tuscany Restaurant and had one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in quite some time. The food is exceptional and creative yet not as expensive as I thought that it would be. The tapas menu is "fun" and interactive - great for a group or a couple. I just kept wanting to order more! The service was impressive but not overbearing - very warm and friendly. The complimentary valet parking was another huge plus. Can't wait to go back....

Pros: Classy, Exceptional, Attentive

Ratings_icons Best Sunday Brunch - No more

theairdog

They have the best Sunday Brunch in Denver IMHO. Lox, oysters on the half-shell, huge cocktail shrimp, and caviar just start off Brunch. 5 or 6 specialty dishes compliment. Belgian waffles and omelettes made your way.

Champagne or Mimosas included.

Save room for dessert.

UPDATE: They no longer serve their Sunday Brunch 01/2007

Had a great meal at Tuscany. Service is almost non existent but the food was awsome. Get the cheese soup and the tuna, wonderful! Server needed some help, they didn't know anything about the wine menu. We'll be back but hope the service is better.

Pros: Food, Food again!, Comfy

Cons: Service, a bit stuffy, No caprese salad!

Ratings_icons Your average hotel restaurant

jstraitiff

After reading the great reviews here on citysearch my wife and I decided to try out tuscany. We were staying at the Loews hotel and thougt that it would not only be convenient but also highly rated. Well it ranks pretty high for a hotel restaurant but as far as fine dining goes it is only medicore. The service was prompt but the waiter didn't even know the wine list. The food was tasty but the ambiance was dreadful. One loudmouthed fellow patron dressed in flip-flops and shorts and only wanted water comes to mind quite frequently. We will not be going back.

Ratings_icons Finally...

A new chef who can make Tuscany the restaurant it should be. I enjoyed the Fourth Story when he worked there and and excited to have him back in my neck of the woods. Loved the Osso Buco (although it was a bit to much) and my wife, the filet. Looking forward to seeing this restaurant full.
And hoping the waitstaff won't be too busy for me next time.

Pros: Chef, Food, Ambience

Cons: Abrupt waiters

The food at the Tuscany is so awesome and delicious. It has a wonderful warm, romantic atmoshere. The food melted in my mouth and the dessert were wonderful. It is pricey; the service is great but food is well worth the price!
