I had been going to my same hairstylist for 5 years, but this last haircut was the last straw and I wanted to go someplace else, where the stylist would actually listen to me and would seem interested in my hair! I found Grand by recommendation of a person who's haircut I admired. It is pretty rare in Denver to see someone with good hair, so I decided to give Grand a try. Nothing bad happened- my stylist was sweet and I got the color I wanted. The price is also reasonable. At the same time, there wasn't really an exciting vibe and I didn't feel like a rock star when I left. It just seemed so...quiet and sort of low-key. I think the main thing I am uncomfortable with is that I am deep down an Aveda person. The products they use at Grand are filled with chemicals and additives. I'm sure that goes for the color, too. I'm not sure whether I'll go back to Grand or not. I'm just not convinced that it's anything truly above average. UPDATE: I never went back. I've found a new hairstylist, out of state, who I love. But I will say this: not only was Grand sort of boring, but the haircut I received was apparently uneven in the back. UGH!

I have been a client of Amys for a couple of years now and she is by far the best colorist to ever work on my hair! I am a stylist as well so sometimes I can be hard to please but she has never let me down . She has taken my hair from light to dark and then back again and also gives a great haircut. Amy even traveled to Mexico with us to do my hair for my wedding !! She is very easy to talk with and always gives you her honest opinion . I highly recommend Amy Carr for color , cut or a style ...

I had been seeing my local colorist for alomost three years and decided I needed a change and Amy Carr was just what my hair needed. She is awesome at her job. I felt that she really listened to what I wanted. I have been dyeing my hair for over 10 years and this is absolutley the best color result I have ever gotten. My cut was equally amazing. Amy was fun and down to earth and styled my hair very cute as well. I will reccomend her to anyone and everyone she is just great!!

So, I left the salon industry to teach high school, my true passion. After leaving Chicago and the comfort of working in an amazing salon with talented stylists, I have had terrible luck finding someone in Denver who cuts and colors with quality. I've tried multiple people, all with disappointing results at best...results I had to fix on my own at worst. Not any longer! I am happy to say Jessica G. at Grand salon has earned my business...and my respect. She listened as I expressed my frustration, collaborated with me to achieve a better color, delivered the exact hair cut I desired, and spent non-rushed time paying attention to me (a luxury in the hair business)...all in all, she was about perfect. From a non-practicing, but stylist-at-heart's perspective, I recommend her without reserve. She works wonders! Add that to an airy and lighted salon from a wall of windows, a team of stylists who all seemed more than competent with their own clients, competitive prices, and great product lines...what more could a girl ask for?
Well...perhaps waiving that ticket on my car (since Grand has only street parking available). The only downfall, but not enough to keep me away! Go see Jessica G. at Grand today!

I went to Jessica Garduno for the first time to get some fun, dramatic highlights. I have been going to the same person since high school, so it was a big risk. But Jessica did such a fabulous job! I explained what I wanted and she understood right away and was so sweet and professional and I LOVE the way it looks! Exactly what I wanted (different shades of blonde on top in nice chunks instead of streaks, and my natural, darker blonde on the b. She even gave me some free samples. And it was only $70! I will definitely go back. :)

Awful experience. Did not give me what I asked for at all. Still had to pay for the cut and the color.

Don't believe the negativity on here about Jessie G! I moved here from San Francisco three years ago and had the most difficult time finding a stylist who would listen to me and give me what I asked for. Seriously, you wouldn't think it would be that hard but from Aveda, to Luxe to many salons, a good stylist is so hard to come by. I read the review of Jessica Garduno in 5280 and decided to give her a try. I have since been back three times and EVERY time, she does exactly what I ask for better than I could have imagined! he first time, I asked for red with blonde highlights and it turend out so cute. The haircut she gave me was also perfect. The last two times, I have gone red. I love it. And with the way Jessica does my hair and whatever she uses, the Reds don't seem to fade like they do when I get red at other salons. Jessica is pleasant, funny and at the TOP of her profession.

The rest of the staff at The Grand Salon are friendly, warm and very accomodating. I will keep going back for more!

I have been a client of the Grand Salon for several years...even before it was called the Grand Salon. Shelley(the owner) and her staff are among the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. The salon is cheery, warm and bright. There is a perpetually changing art exhibit on the walls featuring local artists and photographers. Clients are doted on in all imaginable ways. Oh yeah, they do good things to your hair too!

These women know hair!! They are not afraid to tell you if something will not work for you, they know which cut will suit your style, and they know which products will work best for your hair type! The space is amazing! The atmosphere cozy and hip! And the customer service is phenomenal, from the moment you walk in the door! I HIGHLY recommend booking an appointment with ANY of the stylists at Grand Salon... you will not be disappointed.

From the front desk to the stylist chair, these ladies got it goin on. I am new to town and was reffered by a gal from work and was sooooo anxious about finding a new stylist. Jessica Brace cracked me up the whole time I was in her chair... Catherine gave great directions, parking advice a glass of wine and a my hair has never looked better!

I know the stylists at this salon all have the highest education. It sounds like you spend a lot of time shopping for stylists in denver. This may be the reason for your what sounds like another color correction. Yeah what fun for jessica. Maby you should try to stick with someone for awhile as to correct your underline hair pigments. When clients change stylists often there is no previous record of what your hais has been thru. So no promise as what will happen when someone new colors your hair again. and again, and again...
No I do not work here, but Why don't you try the owner?

Jessica BRACE is a fabulous stylist!!!! She and the other stylists, Shelley, Andi, Rebecca (to name a few) are always more than happy to make you look perfect! Every time I have entered Grand Salon I feel welcomed, relaxed and refreshed! The building is charming, the ambience is soothing; definitely the trendy place to be! I have always left the salon with perfect highlights and style! Thanks, Jessica B and everyone else for fabulous service!!!! Definitely worth the money!

I am not the type of person to write reviews but I had an absoultely horrible color job at the Grand Salon. I went to see Jessica Garduno because of the hype on Citysearch and in 5280. I had been going to the same person (who I love) for years but thoght Jessica could give a fresh perspective. I was nervous but came well equipped with photos. The end result was an absolute horror. I had asked for a warm brown with soft blone highlights. I ended up with a pinky purpley disaster with muddy, ugly highlights. My mom actually cried when she saw my hair. I hate to say anything bad -- I truly do and I realize that mistakes happen but this was the most absurd, damaged looking mess that I had ever seen or had. It took $1000.00 dollars and 3 different processes to fix my hair. The girl who fixed it said she had never seen anything like it. So, buyer beware!!!

AAAAAAARGH! Whenever I listen to the so-called "best of the best" chatter (i.e. Best of Wesword or 5280 Best of) I get burned. I went to the Grand Salon and found it hard to find but oh well. The worst of the worst was what happened to my hair by Jessica G. Yuck! It was greenish brown. She also cut it short and uneven. She was really nice tho so I feel bad but think twice before going. She is not as good as they say.

I went intot this salon bc of the great reviews on CitySearch, but now I am sure they wrote them all themselves. They were extremely friendly and prompt, but my God what a horrendous haircut - by the ower of the salon no less! I took a picture in and came out looking like I had gone to supercuts - my hair looked nothing like the picture - instead it was just a triangle. I haven't had a triangle haircut since 7th grade. I also asked her to to keep my length but ended up losing at least 5 inches. While she and everyone else was really nice, the haircut SUCKED - literally the worst haircut I have had since middle school (I am almost 30).

I relocated here from the SF Bay area in December and was apprehensive to try a new salon. After reading the reviews online about the Grand Salon, Jessica G in particular, I decided to give it a try...and I'm glad I did! There is easy access to the salon from I-25 and I have been lucky enough to find parking without difficulty. The staff is friendly and professional. Jessica G has done a fantastic job on my hair with color and highlights. I have seen her three times now and Jessica always makes me feel like I am her only client, taking the time not to seem rushed. I have referred several co-workers to her, which was easy...they liked the results! I would definitely recommend the salon and Jessica. The art on display at the salon is an added bonus. Oh, and don't forget to check out the massage chair! It's wonderful!

I recently moved from bay area and was looking for a new hair dresses. Based on the reviews here I chose to go to the Grand Salon and saw Jessica G. Jessica was awesome: very social, mellow and I loved her style. I was very impressed with the way she did my highlights: the colors she picked were great, she colored very close to the roots, and it looked very natural. I must say that this place has a not-so-conservative edge, which I love. So if you are up for a quality color with a twist, I would highly recommend this place!

Having been in Denver for the past 7 years, I have experienced a mix of the Denver/Boulder Salons. Grand Salon has been a terrific place for me! I have been able to rely on their talent to consult me through any style I have chosen. I have walked in before, chosen a completely different style (dramatic transition to say the least) and been overwhelmed when leaving that I had chosen something so incorrect for me. Within just a day the shock disappeared as I realized the cut works, and even more is amazing! My dull is now dazzling, and would not have been if I hadn't been able to work with the stylist who would illustrate the high points and low points of the style. Even more, they will customize what we all "think" will be great on our own heads to actually make it work!

Atmosphere is welcoming and trendy, with a continual rotation of the gallery of artwork. Their welcoming demeanor and ontime schedule (best I have seen for any salon) accomodates what I seek as any 28 professional would. Their selection of products and services deserves a gold star without needing a golden spoon to receive.

Based on all the other reviews of Grand Salon, I decided to give it a try. I walked out of there with probably the worst haircut in my life. I'm a senior manager in an office environment and my hair stylist decided I needed to look like a GQ model. If you prefer a conservative hair style, this place could prove disastrous. The biggest problem I have now is that she cut my hair so short there's nothing left for repairs. I'll just have to walk around my office looking like a street urchin for the next three weeks. At that point, I can assure you that I won't be returning to Grand Salon to try and get my hair looking halfway decent again.

Grand Salon is the culmination of experience, service and style. There is a reason Grand is made up of Denver's top stylists. We have known many of the stylists from their days at other Lodo Salons. Grand is the birth of their vision and it shows. The staff is always friendly and professional. They are always on the cutting edge (pun intended) of product, fashion and style. Not to mention the salon features gallery artwork- further showing their commitment to Downtown and the city they love. I'm not one for a foofy haircut - but I won't trust my head to just anyone. There is only 1 salon in Denver - Grand!

Been a customer of The Oxford, Luxe, Crush and Grand and I feel that Grand is the most customer service oriented salon. All the staff is friendly, professional and very knowledgeable.

These stylists are super accommodating, helpful with ideas and more than willing to go the extra mile for you. They are experienced and definitely know what they are doing. Grand is a comfortable environment and the staff is very pleasant. If you want a new style, just a trim, Grand is the place to go.

I've been going to the same stylist at Grand for a number of years and continue to refer my friends and family to the salon. They are super accommodating, helpful with ideas (if you want their advice) and more than willing to go the extra mile for you. Grand is a comfortable environment and the staff is very pleasant. If you want a new style, just a trim, Grand is the place to go!
