I LOVE 95th! I have had color and cuts with Beth, the owner and the new graduates which have all been fabulous. I love the Aveda products esp. the makeup, the deep conditioning treatment and facials. Jasmine is AMAZING with facials for dry CO skin and brows.Mani-pedi and makeup applications are a fun treat! The atmosphere is so relaxing and nurturing you do not want to go home! They ply you with tea and aromatherapy and hand massage while you wait for your color to set! They put you back together again! Thanks Ladies!!!:)

I have been going to 95th Street Salon for about 2 years. I think they're quite good. I've always experienced polite customer service from the staff, and very good haircuts and color, mani and waxing. I always leave feeling refreshed and happy....I've also recommended this Spa to other people, and they've not only enjoyed the service there, but have become "regulars." All the products are Aveda, and as such are earth friendly, natural and "green." The tea is lovely, and the complimentary neck warmers are great.

I went into 95th street salon because it was convenient to my home; after driving by for years I decided to stop in. After a consultation with the owner, Beth I booked a protein treatment for my hair, a pedicure and a wax. I also booked a cut and color for a different day. On the day of my wax, pedi and hair treatment I arrived on time and was asked to wait, I was given a thimble full of water in a plastic dixie cup. When I approached the front desk girl to ask how long my appointments were I was told 3 hours and I was shocked since this was not what Beth and I had discussed in my consult! I asked them to go over the treatments with me so I could understand the timing. It was still not as Beth described she had told me they would be able to wrap my hair in the towel and do the pedicure while my hair was being treated. I also questioned the logic of getting a wax after a pedicure as most salons won't do it in that order because the toes get smeared while getting clothing on and off for the wax. They were put off and disgruntled because I questioned them. Perry the girl who would do my pedicure said "well now that we have wasted 10 minutes let's go since I was already set up for you" The owner who came into the room while I was sitting there did not acknowledge me at all, which I thought was odd. The pedicure itself was nice and Perry did a fine job. I would have returned for this. The hair treatment and the wax service were also just fine (though more painful and longer than I am used to at Tapestry.) Today I called confirm my hair appointment for this morning and they did not have my appointment in the books, she said I never made it yet I have a appointment card with the date and time on it. Then the owner, Beth proceeded to chastise me for being late to my first appointment (which I absolutely was not and have the phone records on my phone conversation I had while in the salon to prove it and to have the front desk person lie and say I was is unethical) and said that I was rude to the staff. For the record, I was absolutely kind and courteous in my questioning the time frame/order then proceeded to hold nice conversations about the estheticians trips, family, etc. and left with a smile; to find out in hindsight that they had negative things to say about me is two faced and flabbergasting. A salon should be a place where communication is a two way street so clients feel they are in good hands. If Beth would have checked in on me personally during my visit or asked me about my experience she would have heard that what these young women she has on the floor/front desk have to say is nothing more than an indignant, petulant reaction to my questioning the length/order of services. They should leave their personal feelings to face book and not take it out on the client. I was on time, I was not rude and reporting otherwise is just a lie. For the owner to allow herself to be manipulated by staff at the expense of clients is a shame. They might not know better but Beth should and it will ultimately only hurt her business. Bottom line Super Cuts has better customer service. My instinct in passing up this salon for the last 6 years was correct, learn from my mistake and take your business elsewhere.

While I've never been to Ninety-Fifth Street for spa services, I have been a regular client for hair cuts and color for more than five years. I have seen four different stylists there (Mariah, Barb, Ashley and Beth) depending on appointment availability. Each has been very good, and I have never had anything but a fantastically Aveda-quality haircut or color. The salon is calm and welcoming. The staff is friendly and helpful. The owner (Beth) is a true professional, knowledgeable and service-oriented. If something is not right, talk to Beth, and she will make it right. Highly recommended!

Pros: Aveda Products, Excellent Staff

I recently stopped in to visit because they were recognized as having the best pedicure by yellow scene. When I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and got some Aveda tea. The pedicure room was beautiful and warm, and the pedicure, done by Amber, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and helped me with all the questions I had about my horrible nails! She recommended products and so far they are helping tremendously.
I was also shown the back spa area and it looked beautiful.

They seem to have a lovely staff that would go out of their way to make you comfortable.

I am definitely going back.

Recently stopped in for the third time. Each previous visit was mediocre but I thought I'd give it one more try. It was the most expensive and worst wax I've ever had. I will not return.

I think the woman who wrote the 'mediocre' review needs to stop back in.

I saw a ton of changes throughout my goings and now I have to say that this place has a star staff. The front desk girls are a little wierd, but the hair stylists such as Barb & Mariah are phenomenal. I go to Sara for regular massages and I would highly, highly recommend her. And the facialists are so wonderful and knowledgable. I know that some people have been upset about the hair services when they were first starting out, but now I would have to say that this is one of THE best places to go to for superior service. If you want to feel catered to, listened to, and pampered, go here.

Their prices are not cheap. But it's Aveda, and it's worth the extra dollar to not put harsh chemicals into your hair. Though I must warn you that the products that you do use, especially over the counter color and henna color might alter the Aveda color products so you definitely want to let them know of ALL products you've used. Trust me, it happened to me. And once Mariah knew that, she altered a few things with the color and made my hair look fantastic.

I think what is most special about them is that they truly care about every individual they see. I know Sara has found me certain articles and books that she knew I would enjoy and really listens to me and my body when she's doing a massage. I can't think of anyone else as intuitive as she is. And I love that she really cares about me. I know the majority of their staff is like that too.

Oh! And book with them ahead of time, especially if you want any of the people I mentioned. They book up really fast. I have to book 2 weeks ahead with Sara to make sure I can fit the right time into my schedule. That's how good they are. I know some people are open more often, but if you want someone really good. Book ahead, like you would for any other appointment.

This place is incredible. It's even Aveda. The staff is amazing. They are knowledgable, courteous, fun, and polite. The stylists are great. Jen has done some incredible work with my hair and Beth is great at consultations. The massage with Sara was incredible and Azita was absolutely darling during my facial. This place is where you want to go. Trust me. I'm a secret shopper. I look for excellent customer service. This is where you want to go.

PROS: massage, facial
CONS: a little hidden away but worth the search

I think this place is good or mediocre depending on who you get there. I've had my hair done and my eyebrows waxed and it was just satisfactory. I had highlights done and they were so unnoticeable I had to go back to get them redone. They did my eyebrows right at the hairwashing sink instead of a separate room. I have heard others say they like the other spa services there such as the massages. I will have to give them another try before I'm sure about their overall quality.
