I wish I could give fewer than one star. The customer service is beyond terrible. They NEVER call to say anything is ready, they don't order parts in a timely manner, until you call after weeks to remind them to order the parts. They actually lost parts from our snowblower. It took numerous phone calls just to get them to order the parts. We brought our snowblower in for repairs in mid February. When I went to pick it up on May 28th, it still wasn't done. For the delays, damaging our equipment, and horrendous customer service, we didn't even get an "I'm sorry." If you have the nerve to complain, the sales person (Danny in this case) will ignore you and simply walk away. This company is the WORST!!!
AVOID THEM! AVOID THEM! AVOID THEM!
Great to work with for 12 years.
Total power always takes care of my equiptment needs quickly. They are a Big piece of our success in Business. Thanks for all your support.
Excellent service, speedy turnaround on repairs, top notch shop with honest folks and a resonable price.
Have had many things repaired with no problems, good people.
I have worked with Jason Meyer for the last couple years - he is very professional and went out of his way to make sure that I was taken care of. Furthermore, he followed up couple of months later to make sure I was still satisfied with my equipment. I have purchased equipment in the past through their competitors for my landscape company and this is by far the best experience I have had so far. I highly recommend Southside Total Power.
I have been here a few times for a variety of lawn tools and each time I was trying to decide whether to fix or junk it and buy new. Each time the employee I dealt with seemed like I was wasting his time and even after explaining that I would either have them fix it or buy a new one from them (guaranteeing them the business) their attitude didn't improve. I am not a contractor, just a home owner, so I understand they are not going to give me priority over someone who brings them significant business, but I've been there when no one was around and found the same thing. Power at Hand (east of Colorado on Colfax) is a small shop, but they are very helpful and easy to deal with. Stihl dealer too.
Pros: They do seem to know what they are talking about
Cons: They seem hassled to answer any questions
I have done business with Southside Total Power a number of times, each time thinking that the service cannot possibly be as bad the next time, but each time finding out that it can actually be worse. The people working at the store have absolutely no care for your time. I have found myself to be the only customer in the store, standing right in front of multiple employees while they just continue to have their own personal conversations. Even after asking for help when needing to pickup orders they have continued to ignore me while continuing with their personal conversations.
On top of their incredible lack of service, I have also found that they are great at over-promising and under-delivering. It makes it difficult to run my business when relying on a shop like this so I have chosen not to do business with them anymore.
Cons: Rude Staff, Poor Customer Service
I noticed a different atmosphere when bringing my chainsaw in for repairs. I didn't alway like the service, however this time they seemed different. I heard that the ownership has changed. It seems like a step in the right direction.
Pros: Fast turnaround due to the recent snowstorm
I brought my mower into another repair facility. After many weeks, they could not repair the problem. South Side found the problem within a couple of days and repaired it! I was ready to buy a new mower. Mine is working great! Thanks South Side
Pros: SERVICE REPAIRS!!
I brought a Honda mower in for repairs. Two weeks later, after hearing nothing, I called to discover that the parts had just been ordered - they needed another week. My wife went pick up the mower, and the repair guys couldn't even find it! Then they found it, but still needed to install the ordered parts!
Avoid this outfit, especially the S. Broadway facility, like the Swine Flu!
Cons: No customer service; no communication; poor quality work
I brought in a chainsaw to be fixed over 6 weeks ago. I heard nothing from this company for weeks until I called last week. The gentleman I spoke with told me that my parts had been on back order and would be in on Thursday and they would have it fixed right away and would call on Friday for us to pick up our saw. We never heard from them so I called the following Wednesday. I was told that my parts had been order ed yesterday and they should be in by Friday and the saw should be fixed by Friday. I told the gentleman this is what I was told last week and he had no explanation other then it's hard to get parts in these tough economic times. I explained I wasn't upset that parts are taking a long time, I understood that could happen, but that I am upset that I was told that previously and that I was also told that this problem is very common. I explained I felt their customer service was poor and since this happens often I should have been warned at time of drop off and felt that I should have had been call ed to update me on the status. I requested a discount on the service to which he declined. I requested my chainsaw be moved to the top of the repair list as I have had a tree down in my yard this entire time to which he replied they service equipment in the order they are received. If any of the other reviews are any indication there may be many pieces of equipment they have had longer than my chainsaw.
In short I feel that you cannot trust this company and when they make mistakes they do nothing to correct them. They have lost me as a customer and I recommend you do not use them either. It will be worth your time to go further to another service company because your time will be wasted on phone calls and wondering when (If ever) they will fix your equipment.
In response to the other commercial review on this company, no not all repairs are able to be fixed in a matter of days obviously there were other circumstances to this repair that he is not listing and if he were more than just a fly by night lawn service he would own more than one unit.
I am and have been a commercial cust of this company for years and have had no major problems with this company. Commercial equipment is usually done first because this is how we make our living. Paul only hires technicians experienced in the fields of equipment that he repairs and with expanding his business to Aurora and now Erie they has been able to handle my repairs no matter where my employees are working in the state.
Pros: Technicians are very well versed in mechanics
Cons: don't think they hire cons
Great selection and professional advice. Honest and hardworking staff with alot of knowledge. Very competative pricing. Go here and avoid the big box stores. The products here are repairable, dependable, and warranty issues are resolved here too. Family owned local business that gets all my business. Sometimes you gotta be patient as they get busy, but you gotta wait for good work sometimes. They are busy for a reason, they also take care of alot of commercial accounts. Bottom line: If it needs to be done right, take it here.
Pros: Value, honesty, knowledgable
Cons: Sometimes gotta wait during the busy season
This is a response to the above reviews. We encourage people to understand that many of these reviews must be taken with a grain of salt. Our intent is not to argue details that have been hashed over once before. However, rest assured that particularly the first review is minus several details that the customer has failed to mention. Such as the fact that she was called for her repairs and secondly the reason her machine could not be fixed was someone using the machine ran it out of oil. Lowes nor the manufacturer will pay for customer neglegence. Additionally, Ms. Himes was certainly not as polite as she might lead on in her comments.
We admittedly did have problems with our phone system and did recieve several complaints concerning the layout. We feel that we have addressed some of these issues. Reasons for the system was simply facilitate phone calls to those who could help customers the easist. Parts people for parts requests, service people for service requests. LIke many new things it does take some time to solve the unforseen problems.
A little about our company. We have three locations South Side Total Power, Erie Total Power and Smoky Hill Total Power. Our company does 17,000 repairs per year and employs 9 mechanics which is the largest for any power equipment dealer. As a result we carry the largest inventory of parts as well. We employ 4 Briggs Master Certified techs (many dealers dont have one), we are master certified in Kohler, Kawasaki and Honda. Our parts and sales people have a minimum of 5-years each, and half have over 10 years experience. Customer service is important to us otherwise our ability to grow would be impossible. That being said we understand we are also not perfect and will continue to improve any way feasible.
Never have I experienced such hostile customer service (and I use the term lightly). I was yelled at, and told "the buck stops here lady" when I asked to speak to a supervisor. This company had my tractor for 3 months without once calling to tell me the status. I called several times only to be told that they were still working on it. This company sub-contract with Lowe's to do their warranty work. For this reason alone I will no longer purchase from Lowe's because they use this vendor. Lowe's will now lose my business as well.
Cons: everything you can imagine
I agree with the first review completely. Nasty employees, crappy service, no adherence to their time estimates. Go somewhere else, trust us!!!!!!
Cons: cost, service
This company is truly miseable to deal with. The service is no existant and unfriendly. They were bad before going to an automated voice system and now as hard as it seemed they got worse. Estimates for repairs are no where near what you should expect. there is a general 10 day estimate given for anything. In my experience running a commercial mowing comapny 10 day estimates have run anywhere from 25 days to 63. Can you imagine losing a mower during the busiest time of year for 63 days? There is no consideration for commercial repairs vrs. homeowners. Drop by any time for a dirty look from the sales staff. The automated phone system will insure that you never speak to an actual service technition. There are not many Honda dealers in town and you might have to travel further than you want to find one but it is well worth your time. These folks aren't competant enough to melt an ice cube.
Pros: No pros
Cons: You NAme It
