I have recommended Dog City to numerous co-workers and friends because they are the best at what they do. We have a very high-energy lab mix and every morning he goes in there bouncing off the walls and by evening pick up he is happy and calm. I think it is very important to socialize your dogs and there is no better trained staff in Boulder.

We have lived in Boulder for 7 years now and have been to every handler in the city. My husband and I don't have kids so our 4-legged son is our #1 concern. We are always greeted well and the staff has treated him like their own since we first walked in the door. They are obviously well trained and passionate about what they do. Until recently we had been boarding with Camp Bow Wow which we were never satisfied with because they didn't truly seem to know our dog. We ran into some problems and after the third incident was again, not handled well, we decided to look elsewhere.

We toured the facility before boarding and although it's not the Ritz, it was definitely suitable for our boy. They have two separate indoor/outdoor areas based on size and plenty of private kennels and beds when they needed to relax (something that Camp Bow Wow did not have). They write out report cards to tell you what your pup has been up to and they are really good about accommodating last minute phone calls and overnight stays. It's family owned and operated and you can really tell the difference. I believe the day rate is $28 and absolutely worth the money.

Highly recommend.

I think John and his staff is great. My only concern now is that the last four times, he has been there for the day, I bring him home and like clock work he gets incredibly sick around 3 or 4 a.m. and throws up for hours and then can barely move for the rest of the day. At first I thought it was something he accidentally ate something, however, the connection is too coincidental. He has also picked up the pink eye infection as noted. If anyone else has experienced their dog being sick after picking them up, I would like to know. They may not know they have something in the facility that is making the dogs terribly ill. Other than that, I think the staff is great and webcam is good. I am more concered about the sanitary side of it.

I was overall pleased with my dog's week long visit to Dog City. He came back happy, and I was extremely glad that I could watch him on a video camera while on my trip. My only wish is that Dog City had grass for the dogs to walk on instead of the gravel outside. My dog came back covered in dust from the gravel and instead of the black dog that I know, he had a grey tinge to his coat. After a quick bath he was fine. Also, my dog came down with pink eye after his visit. I realize that this is something that can happen in a kennel enviornment, however I feel like this could have been avoided. Other than that, the staff was extremely friendly and I felt like my dog was in safe hands. Their prices were reasonable as well.

Our dog drags us in the door when we arrive at Dog City. We drive from Denver to board him there because the staff is so good at caring for the animals. It's more expensive than what we'd pay locally but it's so good to see him happy while we're away.

Our dog LOVES dog city, and we do too. They break the dogs into "play groups" and provide detailed report cards on how your dog did during his stay and any problems they might have encountered. They screen every dog and require a "practice" stay before they'll accept new dogs. The best part for us is that they have Web cams throughout the property so you can watch what your dog is up to online--this is great for when you're out of town and want to check in. They also offer perks like doggie massage and onsite grooming. The only downside it the price. Quite expensive.
