Ratings_icons Quick, Affordable, Absolutely Delicious Indian Food

If you want some quick, affordable, absolutely delicious Indian food, Royal India is the place to go. The wait staff always greats my fiance and I with a smile, remembers exactly what we order, and is there in a flash. I think they are fabulous! I highly suggest anyone give Royal India a try.

Pros: Parking, Service, dishes

I've never had Indian food before, so I couldn't tell you if it was authentic or not, but someone I went with who seems to know about every ethnic food said it was good. I really enjoyed the naan and chicken tikka saag. We had 10 different orders of various foods and spicyness and it was all fairly enjoyable, though some of it was too spicy for me. Someone else wrote that the rice wasn't good - I thought it was okay, it tasted like plain rice with a little bit of salt (I eat mostly Chinese/Japanese rice). ALL of the drinks we ordered were excellent! The Chai, mango lassi, sweet lassi, and mango juice were all delicious.

Note: I'm the type of person who thinks even the most mild food is spicy.

Pros: Parking, Service, Drinks

Ratings_icons tastless cold food

My husband and I have tryed about every indian restaurant in Denver and enjoy doing so. Our experiance here was a horrible one. I will start with the reason for the one star and not zero. My husband enjoyed the lamb he had so-so. Also the papadam was okay not the best but edible. Aside from those two things we were highly disappointed. First off I ordered the vegetarian sampler. They brought me the wrong one with meat and other things I didn't want. Which I could live with except everything on it tasted over fryed and tastless. Then came the dal soup. I have never had a bad experience with this soup. It was over cooked and under seasoned. It tasted even more bland than split pea soup which is generally very bland as it is. We also ordered naan bread, somehow this was cold and burnt. The rice was unseasoned and cold. Every other time I have had it its seasoned with cardamom, cloves, saffron, ect. This nothing just plain basmatti rice. And the meal my husband ordered was so small we had no left overs. ( usually every restaurant we go to there are leftovers, we're small eaters.) And all this tastless food for the price of $30, (no drinks) which there was also a mix up on what we were expected to pay. Maybe to some it is enjoyable but we will never give it another shot.

Pros: empty so get right in on a saturday night

Cons: food, ambience, value

Ratings_icons Many Regular Customers

My husband and I enjoy Royal India often, as do many of our friends. The lunch buffet is always delicious and varied, and a great deal. Also good when we need a satisfying meal in a limited lunch hour. The dinners are also wonderful --- the lamb saag and the chicken korma are our favorites. We even get take-out to serve at dinner parties in our home. The staff is lovely --- they greet us by name, check on us graciously, and are eager that the meal be just what we are hoping for. I once ordered a dish that was too hot for me, and the waiter immediately brought me the same dish at a lower degree of spiciness. The atmosphere is relaxed and quiet, and the booths are especially congenial for conversation. One of our favorite restaurants. Betsey House

Pros: Good food, easy parking, lovely staff, great service

Ratings_icons Best Indian Food!

krennin

This place is great! We go on weekends for the lunch buffet and for dinner on occasion.
The staff is so friendly, always acknowledges us when we enter and checks on our satisfaction several times during the meal. The saag - what can I say? Best EVER! I've tried it at other locations in Denver as well as other cities both in and out of Colorado and can find none that compares. Have a cup of chai, very fragrant and smooth. Being a vegetarian, I cannot personally comment on the meat dishes but friends tell me they are are all delicious. Love the naan and pakoras too! Keep up the excellent work and we'll keep coming in and referring others.

Pros: Lunch buffet a great deal. Love the pictures of the Himalayas and the prayer flags. Booths are cozy.

Ratings_icons terrible!!!!!

jared_farah

my wife and i have been here twice and to say the least we were disappointed both times. the staff has a bad attitude and act like they don't want to be there. if you order the food mild it has no flavor, and when i ordered chicken tikka masala (my fav. indian dish) i ordered it spicy. they completely obliterated the dish by overusing red pepper to point of no return. inedible. i left half of it there. the food is not fresh and at times has tasted like bad leftovers. don't waste your time with this place. the abundance of neon lights inside the restaurant ruin the atmosphere. spend your money wisely...go to Bombay Clay Oven.

Ratings_icons If you want good Indian food, don't go here

I love Indian food and think there are some very good Indian restaurants in Denver, but don't waste your time with this one. Although the service was friendly, the food is bland and under-seasoned (not to mention that their concept of "spicy" is very little spice at all). The meal was so bad that neither me nor my friend finished what we ordered.

Cons: The Food

The food is a good value for the price and the service is accomodating. The lunch buffet offers a decent slection of items including white meat chicken items.

Pros: good food, good prices

Cons: In strip mall- not the best ambiance

Ratings_icons great food, friendly and fast service

avillavert

The ambience is modern India. I love the prayer flags amidst the young, hip colors. A great blend of tradition and modern styles.

The food is great. The service is excellent and quick. Food is hot and right on time. The chai is just as my mother in law makes it. That is an excellent recommendation.

This is a comfortable, non-intimidating place to experience great Nepalese and Indian food. The staff is friendly, prices are very reasonable, and the food is consistently excellent. Their mango lassi is among the best in town!
