Please reconsider before using their repair service. The on camera flash was sticking on my Nikon D800 (Purchased From Mikes Camera) so I brought it into Mike's for repair. They quoted me $ 1200 for repair and stated the camera

The best camera store in Colorado. I've bought way too many cameras in my life, including 3 from here. There are pleanty of discount camera stores, but none of them employ people who know anything beyond the basics. Mike's people are

Positive experience. The salesman was very helpful. We also found a camera bag we've been looking for for a couple of weeks. All the other camera shops we've been to from Medford to Seattle didn't carry enough gear to look at.\r

If the way to keep a camera store open and competitive relative to web-based stores is to provide service, Mike's Camera has a LOT to learn. My husband has been waiting for 10 years to replace his old manual professional Canon system with the new Canon Eos Mark III. We feel strongly that we should support local businesses, so he headed to Mike's on a quiet Tuesday morning. After waiting for the 3 staff members to finish talking about their evenings out and listening to them discuss a new display, it became clear that not only could he not get their attention, but they weren't particularly knowledgeable about the system he was interested in buying -- and didn't seem particularly interested in helping him at all. To add insult to injury, he wrote to Mike's Camera's via email, talking about what had happened and his frustration -- AND THEY NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO RESPOND....

Now, this, at the end of the day, was an $8k purchase that Mike's Camera lost out on. My husband purchased the system online from Adorama for a better price and with great service. Glad Mike's Camera feels that it is in such a great financial position that it can afford to lose customers like this....We won't ever be back...

Beware: this company does not stand behind the products it sells. Case-in-point: my client, an elder artist-lady, bought a $800 Epson 3000 there. Although the machine was setup correctly, the machine did not function as advertised. Mike's salesperson/technician came by charged her $70 cash and told her he could not fix it. I've been the lady-artist's computer technician for 10 years. I could not make the machine work. I called the store manager, who researched the situation and then told the artist-lady that "she" had to call Epson and make warranty arrangements. I called Epson for her, went through the phases that were necessary to convince them to replace the machine - a courtesy which Mike's Camera should have performed for her. This elderly lady has spent nearly $5K at Mikes' in sophisticated cameras and printers. Mike's Camera could have made good by her ?? instead, they snubbed her and kicked her and her $800 printer to the curb. Beware of Mike's Camera

I went to Mike's Camera to get Christmas cards last Friday. I've gotten them done there before, but this time I also wanted some Photoshop work to be done to the family picture we took on the beach last summer. The person who helped me was very helpful, and made great suggestions to the card design. Picked up the cards today. Result: a great-looking, custom card that I'll be proud to send to all my friends and relatives. I'm thrilled with the quality and service... THANK YOU!

Went yesterday to buy my husband a new camera for Christmas. The salesperson was very knowledgeable, he asked me questions about how I thought my husband would use the camera, what kind of pictures he would take and if he already had a camera.

Since we have had a couple of point and shoots, and have wanted to get to the next level for a while, I asked him to show me those. He patiently explained the differences and pros and cons of each. I ended up with a Nikon D3100. It's small and light enough that I know I'll use it often too at our children's sports events.

For someone who had no idea what I was getting into, they made it easy for me. After I got home, I actually checked online also to make sure I didn't overpay for it, and was pleasantly surprised that the price was right on (they even gave me extras of free prints, enlargements and classes)!

This is the second time when I left Mike's camera store in Boulder in complete disbelief. The first time it took over 1.5 hr to transfer 5 pictures from my memory stick to their computer. The second time they told me that they can't print pictures manipulated in Photoshop and not saved as jpg file. Are you kidding me? I thought it was a professional photography store and yet they can't print what I can print at home with average equipment?

The women in this shop are extremely rude. I asked for a service and she declined and pointed me out to do it myself. The other women made mistakes and focus more on chatting with co-workers rather than taking care of customers. Their communication / talking / sales skills are terrible, I absolutely do not like it when they don't give customers a chance to talk, and they kept talking and FAST at that, as if they are revising a manual. Many people locally gave me bad feedbacks about their rude and arrogant behaviour, and I didn't believe it until I actually came in and saw it for myself.

There is no better place to buy cameras than Mike's. They recently began selling big-screen TVs, which is where I will buy mine from. Their salespeole are knowledgable and professional. And thier prices are very competitive.

I have lived in Boulder for 10 years and have yet to find a store with customer service as great as Mike's Camera. The staff is always extremely helpful, friendly, and eager to answer all my questions. They are also very knowledgeable on their products. If you are looking for quality film developing or electronic gizmos, Mike's is the place to go. Highly recommended!

I've used Mikes for film processing, reprints and enlargements, and they've made mistakes in my order more than once. In one case I ordered 4x6 reprints and they gave me 3x5. When I brought the mistake to their attention, they didn't correct it because they said 3x5 costs the same as 4x6. The staff doesn't seem particularly happy to be there, and that's reflected in how they deal with customers.

I find Mike's camera a bit expensive for regular visits, but for unusual photo supplies or advice, it is the place to go. They helped us find a battery pack for an aging camcorder, and did a wonderful job developing photos (now we have a digital one).
