I put in two orders with this place - bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dresses.

First problem:
Three months after my initial order, I received a phone call about an issue with the bridesmaid dresses. I was told that the shop was unaware that the dresses I ordered could not be lengthened (three of the dresses needed to be). A suggestion was given by the person I spoke to on the phone that my girls that needed the lengthening could "just wear flats". One of the girls that needed it needed at least 4 extra inches of length for a floor length dress - wearing flats would mean the dress would be ankle length, and she would look extremely odd. They then explained to me I could pick new dresses, which I promptly did over the phone from images I found on their website. At first, they wanted all of my girls to go back to the shop again to resize and deal with price differences, but eventually I was able to convince them to just send out invoices and use the measurements they got the first time all the girls went.

Second problem:
A flower girl's mother was informed at the shop while her daughter was being fitted that the dresses would come in after Christmas. In February, after hearing nothing from the shop, I called to verify this (politely asking if it was true that the dresses were to be in after Christmas). I was met with atttitude that it was not correct and they order the dresses about three months before the event date. This is fine - I did not need the attitude that came with it. I was just asking a question; wasn't demanding anything at all.

Third problem:
When the flower girl dresses came in, they were supposed to be two-toned - a color on top and a different color at the bottom. At the time, I did not know what the bottom color should be (either white or ivory) because I had not picked out my wedding dress yet. We came to the conclusion that the order will look exactly like the picture with a white bottom. When the dresses came in, they were a single color, top and bottom. Obviously, there was a miscommunication, so I went to the store to rectify the issue. 3 hours later, after having their manager in my face trying to intimidate me to just accept the incorrect color, and a store clerk that "couldn't figure out how to do a refund", we left the store being told that the dress cost would be refunded. This was a Saturday.

The following Monday, I received a call saying that the "store clerk had no authority to grant a refund to me", but they were willing to try to correct the order, do rush ordering and shipping, and get me the colors I wanted. I was not really given an option, and I was nervous because my wedding was in two months that there was not enough time. Reluctantly, I agreed.

That was the end of my problems with them. I chose to do all my alterations with the outfits at a different place to avoid future issues. The newly ordered bridesmaid dresses came in 6 weeks before the event date, and looked great. The flower girl dresses came in three weeks before the event date, and they were kind enough to ship the dresses directly to my house.

The shipment arrived about three days after I received the phone call asking for my shipping address, and the dresses were exactly how I wanted them.

I am giving two stars instead of a single star because in the end, I did receive the products that I ordered.

I am glad that in the end they were able to help you and make it right. However, this did not happen while I was the owner, and in fact didn't even happen recently, I had seen this post from a year and a half ago. I do not want it to reflect on my current business. I strive to provide the best customer service possible and hope that you would come back in the future should you need our services.

He points at me and says "In your size? i think your problem is you need to find it in W, a women's size. Of course that is going to be a problem, you need it big. We don't have it." I didn't even argue with him about 14 not being plus or that my maid of honor is a 12. I couldn't get a word in edge-wise, just smiled, said thank you, and left without looking at a single dress.

My daughter and my niece are flowergirls in a wedding this May. We ordered the dresses from Lucille's Bridal Shop in August. They only recently came in. After they were picked up by my sister-in-law, I sent a picture to the bride because they did not look right to me. The dresses came in the wrong color on the bottom (they were supposed to be 2-toned). When the bride and my sister-in-law returned with the dresses to the shop on Saturday, March 10th, they were told that they would be getting refund (at that point to exchange the dresses and order new ones would cut it too close). They were told to give them an hour or so because they had to look up the paperwork. When they returned, they said that they couldn't get the credit card machine to work and would process the refund the following week.My sister-in-law and the bride went to another store to buy off-the-rack dresses for the girls, thinking that they would be getting a refund.

On Tuesday, the bride called to check on the status of the refund, and was told that the store policy is no refunds, and they would only be able to exchange the dresses. I have a huge problem with the fact that we were told there would be a refund and then after the fact told no. Now we will MAYBE be getting dresses the week of the wedding, with no recourse if they are still not correct. This also means that there would not be time to use our own people for alterations which we already had lined up (and would not have to pay for). It is also an inconvenience to make yet another drive and time out of our schedules to get fitted.

When I tried to talk to the store owner, I was passed off to another employee who kept saying that she had no authorization to refund the money, and that she would only deal with the bride. My money paid for these dresses, not the brides.

I bought my wedding gown, bridesmaids dresses, flowergirl and my mother purchased her dress from Lucille's Bridal. I had an AMAZING experience! Tony was personable and funny. Tara was my bridal consultant. She was a pleasure to work with and very helpful. I can't imagine anyone having a bad experience with either one of them! I even brought my mother in-law to them for her dress. She found exactly what she was looking for and had a great experience as well.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I drove all over Connecticut looking at dresses and of all the stores I went to this one was by far the WORST. Tony was rude and pushy! Tara was extremely rude and nasty! Don't waste your time tat this store.

I bought my wedding dress at Lucille's, and I cannot praise it enough. It was important to me to buy my wedding dress at a small business (like not a David's Bridal) and I feel really good about supporting this one. They offer such personalized service--Theresa and Jen are amazing and attentive. I probably went in 3 times to try on dresses and then another 3 to try on mine before I was ready to commit. They answered all my neurotic questions (i.e. will I look fat in my dress?) as if they were the most important, serious thing in the world. Most importantly: I told them what my dress budget was and they didn't try to sell me anything above that. In fact, they sold me something thousands of dollars below. I really appreciated that they didn't try to price gouge me but rather really did try to find the right dress for me.

Please give this shop a look--buying a dress at Lucille's has been one of the best parts of planning my wedding!

I loved the service at your shop - I've also been to David's Bridal in Orange and Mariella's in Rocky Hill (as well as a few shops out of my price range in Boston). Your store by far has had the best service. I wish I had found my dream dress with you because I would not have hesitated to make a purchase at your store. I will def. be recommeding you to friends.

I bought my dress at David's Bridal in Orange but ended up taking it to Lucille's for the alterations because the people at DB were rude, frankly. My experience at Lucille's was perfect. They took great care of my family and I and the workmanship done on my dress made it look like a work of art.
I've read a few reviews on here talking about Tony being too...nice? Are you being serious? He is a big, loud, wonderful Italian man and it's kind of unfortunate that that's being held against him. I guess people will always find something to complain about, though. Except me--I have no complaints! Only praise!

I just want to clear the air. I was at Lucille's on the day that Stacy S. was there. The place was crazy! Brides trying on gowns everywhere! When Stacy came in and said she was from CA, was buying her gown in L.A., and had no intention of buying her gown at Lucille's and only wanted to try them on for her family, the owner simply stated that she could look at dresses, but would not be able to try them on because all the dressing rooms were taken by customers who had every intention of purchasing their gowns locally, including myself. At no time, was Stacy and her family "kicked out!' They chose to leave of their own free will... with an attitude, I might add! I don't blame the owner for his response. After all, Lucille's is not an "Alfred Angelo closet!!!"

I, on the other hand, bought a gorgeous "Private Label by G" gown from Lucille's, thanks to the Stephanie! I was extremely pleased by the service and attentiveness given to me by the staff.... not to mention the price!

I would highly recommend this store!

Happy at Lucilles. Had a wonderful experience at Lucilles. No ob noxious man there just a warm friendly and helpful man. Maybe you came from CA with an attitude and if you don't like to be called dear and feel threatend by Tony's out going friendly manner then maybe you were better off gong to Harolds.

I just went there for the first time today, everyone was soooo amazing. Eileen was FANTASTIC!!! They were not pushy at all, very kind and respectful, gave me as much time as I needed, I belive I found THE dress and will be going back this week to purchase it, I will totally recommened getting your dress there!!

Any bride knows how stressful planning a wedding is. The best experience of the entire process for me was stumbling upon Lucille's Bridal for my gown. Not only was the price VERY reasonable, but the service was exquisite!!! I agree Tony is the most endearing man and I am not sure how anyone could feel offended by him. Not only did I purchase my wedding gown there, but I encouraged two other women to buy their gowns there as well (a friend and my sister-in-law). Besides Tony, Teresa (seamstress) is the sweetest woman and she is actually the person who picked out my dress. After trying on the wrong dresses for my body type (tall and somewhat slender at that time) Teresa politely corned me in the dressing room and asked if she could show me a dress. The first one she picked was "the ONE!!!" When I brought my sister-in-law in, I specifically asked for Teresa and explained she was going to be nine months pregnant when she walked down the aisle. Of course, the first dress Teresa picked out (very discretely) was the one my sister-in-law chose (Teresa provided the stomach pillow for visual effect). Now that I am a Matron of Honor in my best friend's wedding, Tony assured me they would tailor my bridesmaid dress after the dress shop my friend chose in NY was very unaccomadating. All in all, I would recommend any bride looking for "the dress" visit Lucille's. They will take great care of you.

To comment on the "rude" man, this would be Tony, a very old school, loud, emotional italian man. He is in no way rude or demeaning if you understand his personality for what he is. I just bought my dress here as well as my attendants and all of us, including my matron of honors grandmother have had nothing short of a warm, inviting, if not a bit boisterous and loud with laughter experience I would recommend to anyone. Thanks Tony!

A male staff member kept calling me "dear," but after all the steps I've climbed, I'd much prefer to be called by my name. "Dear" is a bit out-dated and it wasn't exactly stated in a way that made me feel respected. When I asked a question, the staff member then became testy, which is unacceptable both because I was asking a reasonable question and because this is a SERVICE industry. If I didn't want service, I would have ordered something online.

I ended up going to Harold's and was much happier. No obnoxious men there!

I like the way the do business here. They get you what you want at the best price.I saw the same dress for 200.00 more.the best part is they dont charge extra to alturate the dress which is a plus.Alot of places do

this shop has been in business forever and for a good reason - the clerks are outstanding - the products are high quality and the prices aren't too too high. They have closeout sales once in a while also. If you can't find what you are looking for here - then you probably need a custom made dress. Easy parking too!
