Never performed the oil changes they charged me for. Not listed with BBB. Caused engine damage that was costly to repair. Mabager is a liar.

Go anywhere else.

i wish I looked online at reviews before I came here. Not only are they slow but they try to take advantage if you by sellin you everything under the sun. Came in for an alignment and they tried to tell me I needed new shocks and tires on my BRAND NEW car!!! My father is a mechanic (just doesn't have an alignment machine) and told me to tell them no. My only hope is that other people have someone mechanically inclined looking out for them if they plan to do business here. You could not pay me to come back here!!!!

My son took his car into the shop. Rinaldo told him it would be between $40 & $50 to repair the problem. Later Rinaldo called and informed son that the auto needed $700 in repairs or something would explode. Son asked what repairs were needed and what were preventative. Rinaldo told my son they are all needed and his parents could afford it. When the price seemed too high good old Rinaldo offered to give him a deal and do the job for $550. The mechanic that drove my son back to the dorm said "They are overcharging you, I will do it for half".
Son paid the "diagnostic charge" and left. He found a local mechanic through a referral that set an appointment and repaired the car in an hour for $275.
Figured I would give old Rinaldo a call today to see what his story was. At first he could not remember the car and demanded the name of the mechanic that offered to do the job for half. I mentioned his F rating with the BBB and his memory seemed to recover miraculously! Informed me that he explained what repairs were necessary and what was preventative. Funny part was the entire time we were speaking, I could hear a woman in the background yelling "Are you ever going to fix my car? What is taking so long? This is ridiculous!" Poor woman, Rinaldo is a snake.

As of 5/27/10, this franchise continues to have an "F" rating with the BBB (not a member). They have several complaints against them that they have failed to respond to. I wish I had known that before I went there. I called the BBB after this experience. My car had a loud noise, sounding like the muffler and I only took it here because of close distance to my home. BIG MISTAKE! I would have taken it to another place close by that I've been to before but they're closed on Saturdays. I took my car in on Saturday, 1/9/10. The service manager told me that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. I asked him if it could wait until Monday and he said, oh no, it could fall off and you won't be able to drive the car. I also asked him if this was something that could have been prevented, as I take care of my car and he said no, at this mileage (158,632), this will happen. At that time, I knew nothing about cat. cvt's., but since this terrible experience, I have done my research and understand their purpose. So, I gave him the go ahead to replace it. The srv. mgr. said something quickly & he had an accent & he walked out of the room. I said to another customer present, "What did he say?" and he said "I don't know". I sat down and another employee (I believe), who was sitting there eating said that he didn't undertand why I didn't understand his brother as he speaks English. He then proceeded to bad mouth America and Americans, stating that he thought they were racists. I thought to myself how ironic this was that I was giving this place my business & an employee was trashing the U.S. I thought of walking out completely but FOOLISHLY, I didn't. I just went outside and told the srv. mgr. that I would be waiting at Dunkin Donuts. My cat. cvt. was replaced & the total cost was $480.84. Several months later, the O2 sensor came on & my brother took it to his Honda mechanic. The car is a Honda and the mileage now was160,500. The Honda mechanic immediately diagnosed an exhaust problem. Meineke cut both the front & back pipe to fit a generic cat.cvt. by welding it, causing the harness for the O2 sensor to be badly stretched & the cat. cvt. was in a different area, further than the OEM design. Both pipes & the cat.cvt. needed to be replaced; cost of parts = $1,375. After speaking with the Honda mechanic, it dawned on me that no sensor code came on when I brought the car to Meineke. There is a particular code for the cat. cvt. for this car (P0420), and this never came on @ that time. He also thought maybe I just had some loose bolts that were causing the loud noise. Regardless of whether I really needed a replaced cat. cvt. @ Meineke, the Honda mechanic stated to me, "You've been taken". I went back with my brother to speak with the srv. mgr. @ Meineke and he took NO responsibility for what happened & denied any wrong doing. I asked what was wrong with the cat. cvt. as there was no explanation on the invoice and he gave me no answer. I didn't expect him to remember but he could have looked it up as it is supposed to be well documented, but ofcoarse he didn't. I asked why the P0420 code didn't come on & again no answer. Again, he stated that @ this mileage, the cat. cvt. will go. He then bragged about how he replaced 1,700 cat. cvt's. ( I believe he said within 1 year), and nobody has ever complained. He stated he has the same customers return to him & I am his first complaint. I told him that wasn't true as I called the BBB & he has several complaints & an "F" rating. Again, no answer. Obviously, "At MEINEKE, your satisfaction is very important to us.", which is on their invoice is totally UNTRUE in this case. Since I've spread the word about this place, I've had 2 co-workers, both females tell me their experiences there. One said she's been there a couple of times for an oil change, & each time the srv. mgr. told her she needed new brakes, along with other things and she would go for a second opinion & the second place told her she didn't need any of that. The other woman said her brother had put in new brakes in her car and later on she heard a funny noise, brought it into this Meineke and again the srv. mgr. told her she needed new brakes. She told him she just got new brakes! Again, I wish I knew of this before I went there. A very expensive lesson learned but hopefully I can help others not to go through what I went through. This Meineke damaged my car!
