.

I write this letter because the manner in which the owner of Caf Java accused me of not paying for my breakfast order of $2.25 was mishandled. And then she suggested that it was not a big deal. Then why was it brought up in the first place?

I hardly find the owner of Caf Java a reliable source of whether or not I paid especially since many months back, she was the same person that did not understand that I was standing in line for over five minutes waiting to place my order when a man walked in. I was skipped over and he was helped first. Even though the owner was standing right there, she had no idea who had been standing there first??both she and her employees were totally unaware.

The problem with Caf Java is that there is no clear cut system in place. No one really knows what is going on. Sometimes the money is taken while you place your order and other times it is taken after you get your order. It is difficult even for the employee to tell who has paid or not. In some cases I have had to remind the person at the cash register that I need to pay. To place one order a costumer may end up dealing with 3 people who are all clueless and it is unclear as to who is doing what. Unfortunately, because of the confusion and inconsistency, the customer ends up paying with their time and money for the inadequacies of an ill-run business. It is no wonder that the management feels that people walk out without paying.

As I stated, I have been coming to Caf Java as long as I have worked at Channel 8. Because of the bad service, my co-workers and I began to visit less and less. We looked for alternate places for breakfast and lunch. Despite the fact that I have often received poor to bad service from Caf Java, I still patronized your business from time to time; until today that is, as I have no intentions on ever returning. By bad service, I mean a) coming in to order my food and being ignored because the employees are talking on the phone or to each other; b) employees prepping for lunch by slicing tomatoes, chicken, onions and apples instead of acknowledging and waiting on paying customers. There is no reason that I have to wait five to ten minutes for a common bagel with eggs when no one else is in the store; c) walking in and the employees having a bad attitude and acting like you are interrupting their day; d) returning to the station to find my eggs microwaved so hard that they are non-edible??hence the reason that I started requesting them to be undercooked; e) receiving a bagel without any cream cheese. I never had any of these problems under the old management??they knew what I wanted and it was consistent everyday.

I will happily take my business elsewhere.

This coffee shop is right near work so it's convenient but unfortunately you don't get the best service unless they like you! So make friends w/ the girls that work there! Their smoothies are great!!
