I highly recommend Newington Veterinary Clinic. My 12 year old cat just had 5 teeth removed at the clinic which I was very scared about, but Dr. Fortin and her staff did a wonderful, caring job on my cat and kept informing me by phone what was needed and for my permission. The clinic itself is immaculate and all the staff are wonderful caring people. I am so happy to have found this clinic.

My Mom brought her elderly cat in for a check up. Dr Fortin was very helpful in explaining what tests they could run, what they were looking for and what treatments might be useful. The cat is 13 years old so we opted for baseline tests to determine the cats overall health and began supportive care. Unfortunately our pets never live long enough, but some supportive care in their senior years will enhance the quality of their lives and keep them with us a little longer. Everyone at Newington Vet Clinic was very pleasant and skilled at their jobs.

Our elderly golden retriever suddenly went lame in her back legs. Being new to the area, we didn't have a regular vet, but our dog sitter had recommended Newington Vet. Not only was the entire staff and the dr. kind and compassionate, the dr. didn't push us to do expensive or unnecessary testing. Our dog was diagnosed and happy and healthy again in days. Vet's have our hearts in their hands and I feel like I can trust Newington Vet.

Last October, I brought my older cat (who was having difficulty breathing and was very sick) to the Newington Veterinary Clinic. I had prepared myself to have my cat euthanized because she was so sick, but the technicians and the vet-on-call change my mind. I was charge $200 that day for medication and services. I was told "the medication (I don't remember the name) should work in a couple of hours" and we were sent home .When my cat was still struggling to breathe by the next afternoon, I, again, took her back to the Clinic. I was charged an additional $87 for euthanization (oh, but they did provide a box to bury her in!)I put a stop-payment on the $200, because I felt that the clinic, in good conscience, should not have made me pay that amount since the cat was put down the next day, costing me an additional $87. Since then, I have lost my full-time job and cannot afford to pay the bill in full. They refuse to work with me and are now threatening to take me to a collection agency.I would not recommend their services. They are much too expensive (I wish I knew that then). Needless to say, I have pulled ALL my business and have gone to another vet.

I have been bringing my dog to this vet since he was a puppy and they have always given him excellent care. There is plenty of parking as they have their own lot and it is very clean and sanitary inside. The Dr is wonderful and the staff is also very caring and experienced. Their prices are very fair.
