G&W treats property owners as if they were their tennants.

When they first took over management where I live we all recieved a packet in the mail basically warning us that we were about to be taken for a ride. The packet highlighted shady budget practices and informed us of the company's methods of pressuring unit owners in small complexes into feeling as if they have less rights then they actually do.

Since G&W took over we have attempted to have association meetings, but they refuse to recognize any decisions made by us and so we eventually stopped. They tend to ignore, offer very little information, and impose fees.

The most recent problem I've had with them occured when my condo unit suffered water damage due to the record amounts of snow that hit us this January (2011). After a month of trying to get them to send someone out to clear off a section of roof and dumping out buckets of water each day the snow finally melted on its own. I was left with a kitchen floor that needs to be replaced as well as 3 rooms with damaged ceilings and walls.

I've been unimpressed by the majority of the work done by G&W's contractors and decided that I would like to handle my repairs (I work as a subcontractor for a licensed and insured company). After a month of being passed around I finally received a phone call from company owner Andrew Gionta. He was very rude in informing me that if I didn't go with G&W contractors then I would be on my own, and I would not recieve any of the money for damages determined by the insurance agents (which I pay into every month through condo fees.) I wasn't offered a valid explanation, I was just told no.

To me this latest problem with G&W is just further evidence of the company treating unit owners as if they were tennants. My advice is to stay as far away from them as possible. In the future I will not be purchasing a property that is managed by G&W.

I would recommend using G & W they are a family owned business and great people to work with. When I had to associate with G & W they were able to take care of everything and I didn't have to worry.
