I went for breakfast and found it to be well above average. I wish it was a normal sit-down with waiter service, but otherwise the food was very fresh and tasty. I haven't tried their pastries and the wedding cake disaster sounds horrible!!! But I completely recommend it for breakfast - delicious. Even the coffee was great, and the few people I dealt with were very pleasant and friendly - the real kind, not the robotic politeness you sometimes get.

Got a red velvet cake from here. WAY too much frosting you could frost 3 cakes with the amount of frosting on here. Cake wasn't moist at all big disappointment

Wow...I was just logging on to say what a great experience I had at SoNo Baking company when I saw the bridezilla review. Maybe she is mixing this place up with another place??? anyway, I work around the corner and my office regularly orders breakfast & lunch for meetings from "Martha's" (as my girlfriends like to call it). I was in charge of breakfast earlier this week and one of the girls that works there (Leslie I think??) was so friendly and helpful. She went through all the different options with me since I wanted a variety of choices and everyone at my office was happy with what I came back with. My current favorite is the almond croissant it's delish! I hear they also have a decent brunch and I plan on checking that out as well.

After my local bakery (where I had been going for years) let me down on multiple occasions, a friend recommended that I try Sono Baking Company and I am so glad she did. What a great spot!

For the past few years, I have ordered several cakes from them and have never been disappointed. At other bakeries I have found that that cakes are often beautiful on the outside, but then then don't taste great (or vice versa) but at Sono they are beautiful and delicious, which you can't beat.

Also, when ordering special cakes they have always been accommodating to my somewhat particular requests.

After several good experiences, Sono earned my trust enough for me to recommend them to a friend (a total Bridezilla) for her wedding cake this past summer. She brought them about 20 pictures of all sorts of cakes and the baker was able to walk her through all the possibilities and ultimately come up with something she and her finance absolutely loved.

While I mostly go there for special occasion cakes, the coffee and pastries are also excellent. I have yet to try any of the other breakfast or lunch items, but they always look good when I see other people getting them.

Overall, Sono has friendly service, excellent cakes, pastries and breads and an atmosphere that's nice for sitting with a coffee and newspaper.

After hearing so many great reviews and having a great tasting and first meeting with one of the Bakers at SoNo Baking Company. I (being the bride) arrived at my wedding to see a cake that resembled nothing that I ordered or discussed with SoNo. I was beyond devasted and embarassed. I brought them at least five pictures and spoke to the baker the day before to confirm the amount of scroll work to be done on my cake only to find maybe ten dots of icing on each level with our monogram leaning on the cake in big cut out pieces of icing (as if a 1st grader cut them out). The day after my wedding we called SoNo and spoke to the baker who could barely compose herself through tears and lies of why the cake wasn't done to my specifications, we were basically hung up on without an explanation or apology. Later on we received a call from the owner, the reclaimed Mr. John Barricelli who may be an outstanding chef but has no social skills what so ever. He basically told us off saying he never has had a complaint before and don't think we are getting our money back - we were lucky to get what we got. (Money, which was never an issue - we just wanted an explanation). He went on to tell us he did not have time for this and he normally never even talks to his customers. So please, from one bride to another - don't count on this place for your wedding cake - Cosco could make a better one And you would get better service!
