Infuriating
by Eleni C.
While I don't expect to eat like I were in Beiruit, the food is middling at best. The spreads are bland and pithy and the "spicy" sauce is about as trying as Heinz 57. The spinach pies are all bread and no spinach. The schwarma, which is the only edible thing, was dry and uneventful. Lastly, the waitstaff is very anti-American and rude. I asked for them to use a lot of sumac. Instead of telling me the sumac was only infused into the onions and not a free standing additive, I heard the cook in the back say, "She won't know, she's ONLY an American." I would have walked out if I hadn't paid. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. 0% quality 100% bad attitude.

If you like falafel...you'll love Layla's. It's small, so when it gets busy there isn't anywhere to sit and eat, but take out is always available. The kitchen staff is very friendly, and the prices are always reasonable.
I'm not a fan of falafel at all, and even I can find something to eat there (the chicken kabob is excellent...as are the lentils and rice dishes they have).
The best part about Layla's is that it's right on Black Rock Turnpike, so it's in a very convenient spot. The parking is fine after work-hours because Ole Mole is pretty much the only other place open in the strip mall.
PROS: cheap, friendly staff, great location
CONS: you have to like this kind of food to appreciate this place...
