We love every meal that we have ever had at Max Amore. It is a great place for a good solid meal. Favorites include the salmon entree and a recent daily special of haddock.
The atmosphere is comforable. The service while generally good fell down a little bit with beverage refills at a recent visit.
Overall Max Amore is reliable and a comfortable place to have a meal.

I disagree with the other review - I have had several good experiences at Max Amore. Their food is done well and I have always had excellent service. I have also been to private functions here and they did a lovely job - they have a beautiful, sunny room in the back that you wouldn't expect.

Despite the fact that Richard Rosenthal has opened a restaurant right next to Max Amore's called "Max Fish", I still often prefer to go to Max Amore's for a business lunch because the fish specials are awesome. The fish is fresh, well prepared, and the presentation is very good. I am not as crazy about the rest of the menu but if you love fish, you probably will not be disappointed. There is often a nice, not run of the mill filet on the menu - trout, snapper, mahi mahi, etc. Many are "pan seared" and crispy. Yum. And the prices are reasonable. The service is always very good. The waiters are courteous and will go out of their way to please.

Pros: Great fish entrees and specials. Good service.

Cons: Would't rave about a lot else on the menu, but it's always serviceable.

Had a business lunch not to long ago. Max's are known for their reputation as being a fine establishment, not so here. The food is just a touch over the H.S. cafeteria. Service is snotty and not pleasant. Expensive for lunch fair. - well thats for what is served here

Of the mini-empire built by Richard Rosenthal, arguably his best, most consistent eatery is Max Amore, a vibrant slice of "la dolce vita" in Glastonbury. Adorned with colorful lights, sexy curves and an eye-catching open kitchen, the…
