I agree with the reviewer below me. My experiences as well as my family's experience with Stamford Hospital have not been great. Everytime I've been there for an emergency, I have to wait at least 2 hours to even get a doctor to check me out. I'm afraid of needles and the one time they took blood, the staff was not helpful at all and kept poking me. I believe they got a student intern to help, when he couldn't do it, the nurse tried. Because I was in so much pain, one of the male nurses there had to come and get blood from the wrist, ouch! I remember the lady next to me that night moaning from pain as well when they went to get blood from her. I don't think being crowded has to do with the lack of service because I went in one night and there were rarely any patients there but I still had to wait at least 2 hours. My latest gripe is that my grandmother went in recently and they mixed her chart with another elderly lady! Luckily my mom was the one who caught it and pointed it out to them! Don't go here unless you really need to, and even then it's not guaranteed that you'd get the speedy treatment that you need.

If you have an emergency DO NOT go here. Their emergency room is overwhelmed and understaffed! They have made serious mistakes and their support staff appears fairly indfferent to the patients who are waiting and in pain. I went there with chest pains and the receptionist proceded to call maintanence about a broken door while i sat there waiting for her to take my information!
