love this place
by kelly k.
I am currently a student at iic... i started in September and love it. I attended Paul Mitchell a couple years ago and did not feel that i was getting the education i paid big bucks for. i felt that there were too many student for the teachers and was not getting enough one on one education. with iic one of the things that drew me to the school was the size and the student teacher ratio....i never feel like I'm not getting the attention i deserve from the teachers. the education is great as well. i only have a little over 500 hours and i already feel like i could hack it in a salon if i had to (although i prefer getting my full hours... obviously). If your really passionate about doing hair and are ready to go to a school and work hard this is one of the best places you can be. this is not the school for you if you want to do something easy or don't really care about your future.... you constantly have to stay busy working on clients or mannequins and have to study for theory tests. If your slacking off the teachers will get you back on track because that is their job and they do it EXTREMELY well. i love the teachers and am confident that they put all of their effort into shaping us into the best hairstylists we can be. And anyone should feel blessed to be able to learn cuts from Carmello (or carmine...whichever you prefer). I feel like I'm part of a great family when i go to school everyday.... Ive never enjoyed a school as much as iic!!!

Older students can succeed too!
by Erin O.
Having already been in the workforce for a few years, I know what professionalism is all about. IIC consistently attempts to nurture their students while maintaining professional boundaries. This is my 2nd career path, one that I feel very passionate about. I find a lot of support for my passion and creativity. Most of my teachers are younger than me but that is never an issue as the teachers are always respectful and fair. I like that some of the teachers are tough as it challenges me to work faster, better, neater... I feel that when I graduate from IIC I'll be more than adequately prepared to work behind the chair.
I find it sad that people are so spiteful. Hatred only breeds more hatred.
Thanks IIC for making my education enjoyable.

As An Instructor Of International Institute of Cosmetology: Miss Michele
by Michele A.
I would just like to say as an instructor of the International Institute of Cosmetology, I would like to point out some great things about our students since no one has mentioned anything about them. I am very pleased with my students that are attending and have attended IIC. They are very hardworking, determined, and well mannered. They take in a very big clientele here at the school, and are very well prepared. We have very high standards of our students as well as the school and teachers. Our students are not only meeting those expectations but are exceeding their expectations and go above and beyond. They are very well trained on and off the clinic floor and love what they do. We are very proud to have them here, and will continue when they graduate. When they leave IIC they are ready to take in the Salon life.

NIKKI C, ALSO I VERY PROUD STUDENT!
by Nikki C.
For anyone who's considering going to IIC, seriously, don't read any of the negative comments, they're all coming from "students" at the school that used to be down the street in a building owned by the Gugliottis, who moved because they finally decided that they're never going to have half of the clients that we have, because their school is dirty, and not very presentable, or professional what-so ever.. (NIRVANA)Anything and everything that they say is bogus.I've been a student here for a year and 3 months, and i love this school. The teachers are amazing, and whoever said that the student teacher relationships are very unprofessional, is ridiculous. The teachers are very professional, they're just have personalities unlike other places and make things more fun, but don't get me wrong, they'll set you straight and make sure you stay on task. They're very educated and talented, and i look up to them. Also, I'm pretty sure everyone is out of high school, and is an adult, so we should be able to be comfortable and joke around with our teachers. And if you ask me, it's very helpful that they're not so uptight, they're also hairdressers.. I don't want a hairdresser who bores me, therefore i think they set a good example.Another thing, i'm polish, and not Italian at all.As far as i'm concerned the teachers like me. Their whole family's not even all italian, so some people really need to get their facts straight.Let's see what else...-You don't get charged for the week of vacation that you get.-They don't necessarily find a place for you to work when you get out, but they will help you, and they also post job openings on the bulletin board. Even if they didn't try craigslist.-they send you home if you're irresponsible and not prepared.-"they charge you for everything"... life isn't free.Sorry to anyone that thought i was being "down right snobby" ;-)I'm just defending my school. Although IIC has a very good reputation and these negative posts really shouldn't have any type of effect on them. Some people just couldn't commit to some of the expectations of the school such as actually coming to school? So they had to leave, and down grade to a lower class school that 1 out of 1000 salons have heard of...I highly recommend this school.... only if you actually want a good education and want to have a school to be proud of on your resumes when applying for a stylist position. If i were you, i would call and set up a tour :)Thanks a bunch,Nikki C.

Ian James proud STUDENT
by ian w.
to the ex male student who wrote the things saying this school is horrible and the family writes good things about the school to make it look better should feel upset in the fact that you went out of your way to try and make the school look bad,as students we all know you wrote both your review and another one in a teachers name as well. The International Institute of cosmetology is hands down the best school in the area for cosmetology. Not only does it have a fab reputation but as students we get taught by Carmine G who for students and friends goes by Carmelo(this is a nick name) clearly this ex student is frustrated with his situation of why he had to leave the school and i do not believe it should be taken out in a blog.furthermore i would love to say that the teachers are in fact the best teachers i have ever had, they are very well trained in the trade they teach and know how to answer any questions you might have the school is by no means all Italian and i think it's not fair to be singled out like that.yes this school may be a little more expensive than other cosmetology schools but you get every cent worth of it.salons in the area prefer students out of our school more than any other.I wanted to go to this school for more than a year till i actually went and now that i actually do go i love every second of it.to anyone reading these reviews i beg you to only read the good reviews because this school has given me more than i could have ever asked for and i don't want your thoughts on our school to be changed because one kid wants to give us a hard time.

Great Cosmetology School
by Erin N.
I have been attending this school since September and love it. Finding a good cosmetology school was a difficult journey because many of the schools I looked at were dumpy and didn't care about their students education. IIC actually cares about students learning. The school provided me with everything I need for the school year and I am very pleased with what I received. I love my teachers and classmates and don't find them to be snobby, especially towards clients as was stated in another review. I am also not Italian and am accepted by all teachers and students, which another review said was a requirement to be accepted at this school. It is also a great place to get a hair service done. Students aren't put on the clinic floor until they are ready and once they are teachers are always standing by for help. I am very happy I chose to attended this school and don't regret my decision at all.

Hair dressing and Aesthetics school above the rest...
by teena p.
School seems to have a good dynamic among students and teachers. They have an outstanding reputation in the area. Not only is it a school but clients can walk in for discounted services such as colors and skin care services.
Go check it out...

This is a nice school which can be compared to the International School of Hair Design. The International School of Cosmetology is a great School located ideally right on the Silas Deane Highway in Weathersfield. You really get a bargain for your money here because you are practically given discounted services from the students. So they are not a great deal expensive.
