I have been going to Oceanside Auto for about three years now, I cannot say enough about their service and passion for everyone who enters their shop. Their Mechanics are great and are always so helpful. Thanks Again.

$550 later and the hoses they needlessly replaced have been squealing and it took me 10 minutes this morning to start it ..... I've been going there for my emissions testing and they seemed great. It had been 30k since my last tune up at the Honda dealer who had replaced everything and 25k since my timing belt was replaced so i knew i didn't need a full tune-up (wires, cap, etc) so when i was in for emissions i asked what a basic check/tune-up would cost ... quoted $50 - $100 plus any parts that needed replacement - so i set up the appointment, dropped my car off and got a call 3 hours later - all of my belts (excluding timing) need replacement (~ $160 to fix)... now i thought these were all replaced when my timing belt was replaced, but wasn't 100% so i said go ahead because i couldn't find my paperwork from the dealer ... one hour later i'm told my car is ready, go to pick it up and have a bill for $600 ... now $100 plus $160 does not total $600... i looked over the bill and they had replaced, with aftermarket parts, everything Honda had put in 30k ago ... i wasn't sure how unreasonable that was but was shocked and the girl behind the counter gave me a $50 "break" on the bill and $40 in gift cards ... two days later i was finally able to locate the honda paperwork and yes, all of the belts they said were trashed had been replaced 25k (1.5 yrs) prior by honda ... i have all of the paperwork from the purchase of the car to the present and in 130k miles the belts had never needed to be replaced (honda did them at 130k - there is now 160k) and the wires, cap, etc have only needed to be replaced at 60-65k intervals ..... so now i'm out of pocket $550 and have an appointment with honda in two weeks to check and replace every piece of crappy equipment they installed .... the cheap comes out expensive!
oh and btw i have had a car where the alternator went bad, the battery went bad and the starter went bad .... it is definately an alternator not charging the battery problem ... when I was shocked at the bill the girl said how i would get better gas mileage now and wouldn't have to replace these parts for years - my gas mileage went down by 50 miles to the fill up and my car has never run rougher ... they are going to 'look' at it when i return from my trip (which i was late for thanks to their belt)
