I regularly go to another salon but my husband got us a surprise last minute trip to NY and I didn't have enough time to make an appointment downtown .
I am a huge fan of Aveda products (use then for the last 9 years) so I looked for a place close to my house that meets my needs and found this salon. The front desk girl (asian look) is very nice and friendly but...the service done by Diana is terrible...I hate to complain...but I am really disappointed.
I went there on AUG 14, 2010 to do colour and highlights. I left the salon in shock (despite the site states $90 for full highlights, $60 for colour).I PAID $237.30.
Them I got home and saw myself on a mirror ... I WAS DEVASTATED from the terrible highlights I received from DIANA.The highlights look as if I have had them from a month ago. Highlights should start from beginning of the strand...not the middle of it!The colour was too dark as well and the blow dry...My husband got really mad and call the salon himself but apparently the management were not there. WE TOOK SOME
PICTURES TO PROVE IT and sent an e-mail to Michele and Marisa...they NEVER replied.
The next day I went back there with my husband and kids (we were going to a brunch). Again the front desk girl was really nice and said DIANA was there to fixed it. DIANA was rude and ironic and told us in 20 years of experience she NEVER had a complain, the only explanation was the products!!! My husband asked for her license...she DOESN'T HAVE IT!!!
She washed my hair with some product to take off the colour and tried to do some highlights...My hair it is dry and you can imagine what was look like after 2 days of colour and highlights... I felt so frustrate and disappointed and the only thing I wanted was to go out of there...the front desk girl asked if I was happy...I went to NY the next day and just went back this weekend.
If you want a good colour and highlights go to CIVELLO Salon on Queen St. and ask for Genevieve!!! It is worth the traffic and the money... I PAID THERE $150,00.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!!!

Considering their prices and the carefully-selected photos on their website, one assumes that Wild Strawberry is a higher-end spa. I was not, however, favorably impressed. I had to call three times for an appointment over several days; the first time, the computer was down, and the second, they were "busy." All three times, I got the feeling that I was bothering the receptionists by wanting to make an appointment. The fluorescent-marquee strip-mall setup is kind of a turn-off. The salon is not very clean - I've seen worse, but also much better. I was kept waiting for over ten minutes for my facial, and then instructed to change. The towel and robe they provided were ghastly; the towel was all yellow and ragged, and the robe was old and frayed. I wanted to leave right then, but I used to work in a salon and know that the stylists lose a lot of money from last-minute cancellations. Ironic, considering what happened next. My aesthetician, a snippy girl that looked even younger than me, told me haughtily that she had to cut my facial to half an hour rather than the full hour, since she "can't be half an hour behind all day." I was three minutes late; the other fifteen were spent waiting/changing (which they could have had me do WHILE I was waiting). It could be that the desk made the mistake, not her, but she didn't have to take it out on me. Of course, I cringed and followed her like a puppy . . . until I realized that there was no reason for me to pay $45 for a half-hour facial when an hour is only $60. I pulled the passive-aggressive "reschedule" card and left with no intention of going back. Online, I found plenty of reviews citing long wait times and rude staff, which was actually kind of comforting - no one likes to be alone. I definitely would recommend that readers spend their money (or a few extra dollars) at a different spa.

I love going to Wild Strawberry. They give awsome hair cuts. They also have a spa where they give massages, manicures, pedicures, and so much more. The atmosphere is so relaxing in the spa room. There is a water fountain. The room resembles a greek fortress of some sort. I highly recommend coming here.

I've been going to the Wild Strawberry for awhile now. I usually get my haircut/highlites and use the spa for an occasional facial. I've only had one negative experience when they made me wait for my facial too long, other than that they've been very accomodating and nice. I love the atmosphere. I agree with the high prices, but I keep going back.

The Wild Strawberry Salon and Day Spa is an excellent place to get away from it all and get pampered. It has a somewhat ritzy atmosphere with a Tuscan feeling. The staff is very pleasant and accomodating. The prices are somewhat steep; however, the treatment and service are well worth the few extra bucks.

The wild strawberry is a great place to get your hair done. The hair stylists do a very good job, you just tell them what you want done and they accomplish it. The prices are indeed high, but they are well worth it. I have not tried the spa, but have friends that have recommended it based on their experience.
