In response to the review by Jamilah Z., this child attended KOCO in 2002 for 5 months. It is interesting therefore that this review was posted in 2007. In the FIVE years that passed, KOCO has undergone a major phyiscal plant renovation and is under the direction of administrators who are certified teachers and who have experience in operating a child care center. For any child to have a successful experience in a child care center, it is critical that parents and caregivers communicate to be sure that expectations are being met. This is especially important for a special needs child. Child care centers are not necessarily equipped to handle the special needs of all children. Many need one on one care, especially a child with such a severe handicap. Currently, we service 150 children, several of whom have special needs. We are recommended by the school system for our preschool and school age programs. The special education department refers children to our preschool as we enjoy a professional relationship based on meeting the needs of all children. KOCO currently has a waiting list that takes us through the next calendar year; most of our staff are certified teachers, we offer continuing education, and we always strive to better our programs and our role in the community. I find this review to be unfair, outdated, and bias.

And let me tell you we have been to some bad ones. Our child has autism, and I know that is hard to deal with but he was still not quite potty trained and they left him with a dirty diaper for so long that the rash was BLEEDING. They mopped the floors when the kids were there and he slipped and fell and almost broke his arm, plus they let staff come to work with strep! I would rather reccomend you take your child to a biker bar for care than this place.
