I have not had luck over the years at any salon. I started going to headliners in 2012 and get my hair colored, cut and highlighted here from Emily H. She does an amazing job. It is expensive so I done get everything each time but well worth the money I have never been dissapointed. My color continues to look the same no matter how many times it is done and stays soft and manageable. Emu listens to what I want done. I will continue to go here as long as Emily works here! Also I have never had to wait long if at all on the phone or when I go there they book the time very well there so you don't have to wait.

This was the best haircut I have ever had! I go to Dory at Headliners and she has done amazing things with my hair. I have curly hair and hate to go places where I am told "all of our stylists are good with curly hair." That is never the case. Dory is amazing. She cut my hair into a style I never would have asked for (I told her to do whatever she thought would look good) and I recieved numberous compliments! I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Do NOT get your hair cut here! They do not listen to what you want. They just do what THEY want to do!! I walked out of there with the worst haircut I've had in years. They are so fake and phony and truly do not care about their clients. All that money for a crappy haircut. I can't believe this has happened.

It is unfortunate none of the reviews I've read are dated. I write this review on 10/20/2010.

I travel ~20 minutes from work; ~45 minutes from home to this salon because I trust the master stylist, Kim, who cuts my hair. She introduced me to their technique of cutting hair which considers the angles of your face, and is intended to give you the most flattering cut for your face shape. I also get keratin treatments done there, and have been pleased with the results.
I have never found the staff to be rude or unpleasant. In fact, I've found them to be quite helpful - and I call often to book appointments or reschedule. Twice I have asked to get an eyebrow wax on the spot (while I was in getting my hair done) and both times they accommodated me. I also appreciate that my stylist offers free bang trims in between cuts. I can call that morning, come in around lunchtime, and in five minutes I'm out with fresh bangs.

Kim is honest about my hair and how the styles/colors I like will (or will not) work with my hair. She does not always tell me what I want to hear, and I appreciate the fact that she has my best interests in mind. She can look at a picture and tell me my base color is too dark to do something I want, but she'll offer me an alternative and in most cases I've been happy with the results. On the rare occasions I have not been pleased, she has taken me back in promptly, and has redone my hair - at no charge.

It is my understanding that on Saturdays, the master stylists do use their assistants quite a bit, as they book overlapping appointments. If you are in for a color/highlight, the master stylist may start the appointment but the assistant may actually do your highlights. The master stylist will check in and finish up with the cut and style. Personally, I prefer my stylist to do my color/highlights, so I make sure I go there on a weeknight.

I do find the prices a bit high.

I have been to the spa as well. Angelica does my eyebrow waxes which always come out more perfect than I could have hoped for. She has also given me a facial which was one of the best I've ever had. She was very informative and offered good, reasonable suggestions for skincare.

I also got a massage and pedicure the last time I was there, about two weeks ago. The massage was very good, and today my pedicure still looks like I just had it done.

The spa itself is not what I would consider a luxury spa. Their relaxation room is small and is also used as a waiting room and a place for those who purchase packages to eat lunch. There are very few rooms and no locker room, although the bathroom has a shower. Overall I would say it is nice/fine, but not outstanding. The one negative that really detracted from my facial experience was that the staff was talking in the hallway and you could easily hear them as they walked around. If you are looking for luxury I'd recommend the Norwich Inn & Spa (although, talk about rude and snooty - some of the staff have really unacceptable attitudes there), the Water's Edge in Westbrook, or the Arden Red Door Spa in Mystic.

Went to headliners for the first time and walked out with one of the best cuts and color I've ever had! She found the perfect color for my skin tone and coaxed sooo much volume and so many curls out of my hair that I was astounded. Better

Each time I call Headliners I am put on hold at least two times. They usually then forget that I am on hold and I have to call back. This lack of attention to customer service should have been my "warning sign". I've had my hair cut two times there. The price is okay but the result has been HORRIBLE both times! The front desk staff are snooty and rude. The stylists have been nice but lack in skill. Both times my hair has been chopped and looks very unfinished. I will not be returning to Headliners. It is a bunch of fluff and fuss with no quality service.

I went to headliners for a birthday package from my husband, and it was truly the nicest spa and salon i had ever been to. i travel a lot for work and have had numerous services at many salons. Here the haircut and hiilite was perfect, they really cater to what will look good on you. In the spa i had a pedicure and facial and the pedicure was unbelivably luxurious with a mask scrub lotion and long massage, was about an hour long! and the facial really cleared my skin up, truly an amazing place. and the prices are extremely reasonable in comparison to other salons and especially good for the services you get in return!

I have been to see Tina in the spa (I will only go to Elegant Edge in Ashford for hair) several times and each time I have been very impressed. She does an excellent job, better than most places I have tried over the years. Five stars for Tina/skill, 2 stars for price, which is high for the area.

I have tried many different salons in the area and will not go back to Headliners. The staff is very snobby and some are rude. My color and cut were both uneven and no where close to being worth the money they charge for their services. My 26 year old daughter went and also came out with an uneven cut and uneven highlights.
My 24 year old son had his hair cut and styled, and unfortunately his stylist paid no attention whatsoever to what he asked for (and
he even showed her a picture). Three strikes and Headliners is OUT!
They think very highly of themselves, and have the prices to prove it, but you can get better anywhere else! Go anywhere but here!

I have been going to Headliners for a number of years now, and can't think of a bad service. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. And I get the best massages and facials I've ever had. I have been getting my hair cut and colored there for years, and now several of my friends go there and see different stylists. My friends love there stylists. I've gotten to know the staff and I look forward to my regular trips to the spa and salon. I would recommend highly to try this gem in the country (tolland).

Although I'm extremely loyal to my own hair stylist for colors/cuts I travel weekly and visit various salon's in cities all over the country. The only service I request is a blow out from an unfamiliar stylist. I have tried this salon 3 times this summer (June-August 2007) and I've yet to walk out with a blow dry that would be considered accomplished. Typically I have to attend a work function and am heading directly to the airport but only once out of my three visits did I not have to immediately have my hair done again (prior to attending the function). I've even seen one of their "senior stylists" twice and a blow dry is a basic request. This salon just doesn't seem to offer a consistent or quality product and I would not recommend it to anyone (especially if you've truly experienced a great stylist before). I've been to hundreds of salons nationwide and this tops the worst list.:) I wish I had something more positive to say as now I need to find another salon when I'm in Eastern Ct.

I got good service the first time that I was there, one would hope after paying $60.00 for a color and $55.00 for a cut.

The second time I was there I went to an associate at a lower rank to save some money, paid $35 or $40 dollars and walked out with an uneven cut.

The third time I went back to the "master designer" so I would be satisfied with my hair, only to have an assistant mix and apply the color while the master designer was cutting someone elses hair. I walked out with just a root touch up costing me $55. The color was not blended in w/ the rest of my hair therefor leaving my roots darker than the rest of my hair, and again, I was allowed to walk out of the salon like that.

If you are very particular about your hair and want nothing but the best, DO NOT GO TO HEADLINERS!!!!!! I had better prices and outcomes from places that cost less.

Salon way overrated! I grew my hair out for 3 months, in anticipation of getting a new and exciting hairstyle at this place. I had seen a nice hair cut and knew of the owner's rep., so I decided to try it out. I requested a "senior stylist" and brought my own pictures in. What I walked out with was nothing like the pictures looked like. It was a technically proficient cut; boring, bland, nothing creative or artistic. The bare mininimum. I went home and trimmed my bangs and tried to give it some life. Not trying to sound repetitive, but my hair is so boring and ugly to me at this point, I have bought some head bands to get me through another 3 0r 4 months, so I can grow it out and regroup. Totally not worth the time, gas, or $43 for the cut. If you want an average, boring, housewife-on-the-prairie look, then this is the place for you! Too bad, what a disappointment.

I have been going to Headliners for at least 15 years now and have tried at least 5 of the stylists. I moved away over 2 years now and simply must drive back, this is after trying at least 5 salons in my new area - it is worth the drive! Whether it be a regular visit, from cut to color to style - they can do it all, or personal spa treatment or a complete makeover (a whole new hair style), something I would trust to no one else - they are the salon for the job. I have told so many friends about them, none of which have been disappointed! I trust you won't either. The treatment is A #1 - you feel like a queen from the minute you arrive until you leave. I hope your experience is the same as all of mine. The management knows what they are doing. Keep up the good work.

The staff was snotty, I came in there asking about services and they treated me I didnt know a darn thing . Im a Licensed Care Therapist of sixteen years and I know how to treat clients with respect. Not to mention I found out that the state has no License for skin care, nails or waxing, if your going to be in this field go to school and get educated

I love this salon! They have two sides - one for hair and the other is a spa. The hair side is wonderful! The staff is friendly and prompt. The waiting area is comfortable and well stocked with plenty of magazines, but there is usually minimal wait time. The stylists are knowledgeable and friendly.

Parking is difficult on the first trip, as you have to drive up the hill to the rear entrance of the building and park in that lot, and not the one at the bottom of the hill, as one would expect.
