Pat and his crew are terrific! We chose Newtown Pools to build our pool in 2009. We gave them a drawing of what we wanted the area to look like and they matched our dreams perfectly. The crew was hard working and patient. They had to be, with me asking them to move boulders two or three feet to the right or the left. Pat's recommendations about equipment and salt water have made our pool virtually trouble free. Customer service has been remarkable. A fitting was damaged while opening the pool and the gentleman actually came back to our home at 6:00pm on a Friday (after closing) to make sure we had our pool open for the weekend. Just recently we needed a pump repair. Again, the service was great. He was there first thing in the morning, found the problem within a minute. He left to get the part and by noon the pool was up and running again.
I very happily recommend Newtown Pools to everyone that asks, "Who built that gorgeous pool?"

Poor service, the owner Pat was always curt and rude. His quote was higher than practically everyone else in the area. Even getting the quote was like pulling teeth, and he frequently went out of his way to make it clear how little i knew about everything. Avoid.

I went to this place once when we first got our pool. I had no clue what I was doing, and they went out of their way to make sure I felt like I had no clue what I was doing. Prices were a lot more than what I paid when I ordered my chemicals online. I understand some mark up, but the prices were really ridiculous.

The "professionals" led me to believe the only way to clear my ingound pool water was to drain and refill it. Within 48 hours my pool was losing water. The liner sustained a stress tear and i lost 3/4 of my water and had to get a diver to repair it.then refill it.Pat MacDougall's response was, "oh well what do you want me to do about it, its not MY fault".MY LINER WAS FINE TIL THEY DID WORK! I am out 2000.00. 3 other pool companies said NO ONE reputable would have drained a pool with a 10yr old vinyl liner because the stress of the drain and refill can cause damage. I would advise anyone to use caution when dealing with this company.

I have mostly used Newtown Pools for my swimming pool opening and closings. They come when they say and normally do a good job at a fair price. They are not like other places which I have used that always need to "fix" something such as a filter or a pump ... which adds on to your costs.
