I was told my furniture would be delivered between 8am-11am and to use their "state-of-the-art" technology on their website to track my delivery. At 8am, I use the tracker and it says deliver time is 8:03am so I assume I'm the first delivery on the route and prep my house for delivery. I wait about an hour and no one comes. At 8:50am I call customer care and explain what's going on. I'm then informed that since they haven't started delivery for the day the deliver tracker is not updated. I was then told that I'm still scheduled for delivery between 8am-11am but that could be delayed. So, to recap, Bob's #1) told me my delivery could start at 8am when the truck hasn't gotten on the road until 9am #2) told me to use "state-of-the-art" technology that doesn't work the way it should and then their customer service defended it. I understand people run late and things happen, but don't tell me to use your website to get information that isn't true. It is now 9:07am and the delivery tracker still says 8:03am delivery. If the technology does not work right, take it off your website and stop promoting it.

I can't even explain the horror show that Bob's discount furniture is. Truly unbelievable to me that he can actually stay in business with the horrible customer service and just awful quality merchandise. I feel like an idiot that I didn't get online to take a quick look at these reviews. Basically trying to get someone at Bob's to acknowledge me as a customer and help me with the awful mattress I purchased there. Once they have your money - you are SOL. It really is amazing that with this many complaints that someone hasn't tried to get a lawyer or class action going. But...I know what Bob is probably thinking...there are lots of stupid people out there and so what if I lose a handful of customers; there will be a hundred more waiting to buy.

I too, have had a bad experience form Bob's. Order and purchaced
a plain jane recliner. Paid up front the date was 12/10/10. Was told by the salesman it would be in on 1/8/11. The lady at the
desk told us we were responsible to call and pick up. January 8th
comes, we call, the only way we could get a person was to say
we owed money. They told us the chair was ready to be pick up.
Drive to the store location, hold on to your hats, guess what. The
chair is not there. Demanding our money. The manager comes over and tells us the store will deliver to our house for free, on January 18, 2011. The guys were late and guess what the chair
was the wrong color. Refused the delivery. Now it's 2/13/11 and
I'm waiting for a check. How is it that customers has to pay up front, but refund check takes over a month to receive. Customer service sucks. I've called and they are like, "why are you calling" II want my money back. Will not go or recommend this store to a
hobo.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE MORONS

DO NOT GO HERE...I am soooo pissed off at this company right now I dont even have the energy to explain myself...THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED, I work at a call center and I know the ins and outs of how a customer is supposed to be treated and I rarely get mad at customer service induviduals b/c I know what they can go through on a daily basis...However...this is by far THE WORST. however I would have been alright if it was strictly bad customer service; however they rescheduled a delivery for my dining rm table 5 times...3 months later after paying for the order (meanwhile using a fold out card table for my dining rm set) they call me 7PM Friday the night before my set is going to be delivered on Saturday morning and tel me it has been cancelled, the day before my Thanksgiving at my new place.......I just spent an hour trying to first call and reach someone at the store and then actually get my order cancelled and refunded....after 30 mins of hold time I'm left w/ "ok your card will be refunded 360 or something like that"....now I have to back track my receipts and make sure I'm not getting cheated out of my money...tommorow I'll be scrambling at Ikea for particle board dining sets so I can have a Thanksgiving NOT on my floor...this company is an ABSOLUITE NITEMARE: DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!.

Well here's another of Bob's Discount HORROR STORIES. I bought the Eldorado wall unit along with 2 end tables. Total sale was $1750 system from the Yonkers store approx. 1 month ago. This is after previously buy a dinning room table, which took 6 deliveries before they got it right. Well the first 3 delivery attempts of the 3 wall unit pieces were damaged goods. Scratches, knife gouges, dark stains and blotches and doors that wouldn't close were among some of the various damages to this unit. Even the delivery drivers said don't accept it. Last Sunday, yes Sunday, I get a call from the warehouse from a guy named Paul. He tells me in no uncertain terms that Bob's will not deliver the furniture to us any longer. He said "I'm messing up his deliveries to other customers because I keep refusing delivery. He tells me that I should have accepted the pieces and they would fix them eventually. All this mind with a very condescending attitude. So I go the phone route, which I'm sure all of you other frustrated customers know about, speak to the General Manager Jeff in the Yonkers who assures me that I will get another delivery attempt. Last night, 10/21/10, Jeff calls me at 9:30 PM to tell me that Bob's will NOT deliver again. This is after a received e Mail confirming delivery this coming Saturday. Jeff tells me that no delivery will happen. He as well as the condescending warehouse man Paul tell me that Bob's wants to cut ties with. In other words DROP DEAD to the customer, go away and never come back. Now some of you readers may think we're very picky when it comes to purchases like this. Not true at all. All I want is a delivery that's not damaged. Little nicks, pin holes etc is acceptable but not like I described earlier. Rest assured that I will make Bob's and those who are involved in the fiasco miserable. I plan on sitting in front of the Yonkers store with signs reading "Don't buy from Bob's" "Bob's UNFAIR" and "Bob's Sells JUNK" in addition to some condescending, there's that word again, customer service. I guess Bob's sell so many damaged pieces that they can afford to throw away business. Bob's - Why in the name of the good Lord can't you get it right? WHY?????

Thru out the years I have purchased many items from bob's and honestly I have had only one bad experience. Which was purchasing a mattress from the pit ( but I should of known better ) Other than that, I have purchased 4 beds and the delivery guys have been amazing at putting it all together in a timely fashion. I continue to purchase from bob's. I actually have another bed and mattress that will be delievered in a few weeks and I hope I did not jinx myself... THANK YOU BOB!!!!

This time as they got into the room where the old bed sets were, they first asked me, 'what are you going to do with with these old bed sets?' Surprised, I said, "Taking these out is part of the contract that I paid for." They reluctuantly took the mattress and the boxer out but not the metal frame. They even said, 'we don't work for Bob's.' I think the salesperson should've specified the fact that the delievery guy won't take the metal frame as she told me, 'this contract includes removing the old bed sets.' Maybe, I should've read their paper thoroughly just as in a car deal. Anyway, I won't recommend anyone from now on to go to Bob's.

on valentines day 2010 my wife and i took delivery of a bobs king size bed mans chest dresser and night stand what a nightmare the bed was broken by the delivery personell(if you can call them that) it started ok till about an hour in when i went upstairs to check in on them, seemed to be taking a while and they were looking at my broken bed support ,this bed has under bed storage and needed proper support before they attempted to put on the head and foot boards well a call to their customer disservice department told me i had to go to the store myself and pick up a set of bedrails ,standard ones not the ones for our bed, if we wanted to sleep on our bed that night what ?? they broke th ebed and I have to get the part? they refused to send out anyone to deliver and install these parts and i had to wait 2 weeks to get the correct parts delivered and installed they refused any refund and the idiot on the other end was far less than helpful plus th ebed has a "gully" in the center i had to fix more like bobs discount service not furniture, i dought i'll ever go there again or recommend them to anybody

Children don't bring them to bobs discount furniture in southington ct.because there is a registered sex offender that works in the warehouse who travels in and out from the warehouse to the main floor.bottom line sex offenders shouldn't be allowed to work in a place with lots of women and children.

I went to Bob's discount store in Southington because is a really big place with alot to choose from. I bought from the Pit (a clearance area) the set I bought was a really nice leather sectional with pillows. When I got the next day to pick it up, it was Gone!...I was so upset I had hired this 4 guys with a truck to help me bring them home and completely wasted my time and money. Then this lady assitant manager was such an b**** like it was my fault they double sold the furniture. On top of that I had paid with my debit card and they would onyl refund the money back to my bank account, making me wait 4 more days to get my money back. They didnt even apologize. Very bad experience. (04/2010)

my experience was very enlightening. my father and myself went to the Southington store to buy a mattress for his tractor trailer which is just a twin mattress. the sales person gave us a lot of help when she realized they didn't have any on hand,so rather then make drive to another Bob's store,she suggested that we should go to Costco,or BJ's for his mattress. so we left the store feeling confused and went 1/4 mile away to BEDDING BARN, and the sales person there sold us a mattress right away, and my dad saved $50 over Bob's ECONOMY price. so it was all for the best.thanks for caring.

I have bought $2000.00 worth of products for two years that's $2000.00 each year and this Feb.09 I purchased once again a bedroom set for my daughter and have many issues with it and issues also with the people at Bobs telling me such things as they offered me another set(which at the time they did not) the bed came with wooden rails which were junk and i requested a metal frame to correct the issue and i was send with half a pair of rails and made to keep a foot-board that was to be returned because the order was screwed up. The bed still would fall to the floor and finally I received a four sided bed frame and new set which seems to be holding up for now but its all you go through to get something you pay for and you have to deal with such unqualified individuals. Also get this they owed me $120.00 because i paid cash for all the purchase,I was told I would have the company check within 10 days well when I called on the ninth day to be sure it was coming so I could provide Easter dinner for my family I was told it had never been submitted for payment and it was recorded no where that the second set of bed rails was ever returned and they(Bobs) expected me to call customer service which is their job not mine.In order to get back some of my money I had to get in my car and drive 45 miles and now I have to wait till the end of April to get the remainder however I paid in full(cash) at the time of the purchase now don't you think I may have a case against them. It has ruined my family's Easter and really inconvenienced me as well as my family. Please help me to bring them to justice. After 5 months of waiting for the fabric for the back of our new couch, the company has it on back order. Not GOOD! I am waiting for a settlement from Bob's, either cash or a new piece of furniture. I am not a happy customer after being jerked around for 5 months and will never go into their STORE again for anything. Please read the forums before you attempt to go there.

What junk, i brought a 5yr warranty's after two yrs it started to fall apart, called them they told me it was my fault.. i am going to court with them soon. please do not buy anything from them it is held together with bubble gum and glue... the lowest grade you can buy in a third world county

Our experience with Bob's has been very positive for the most part. We have purchased several pieces of furniture over the years and have never had a problem with quality. Of course the price is great and the Pit holds some fabulous bargains most with very "liveable defects" e.g. King size his/hers memory foam mattress and split box spring for $500 because box spring cover had black mark on it. Our experience with Bob's has been very positive for the most part. We have purchased several pieces of furniture over the years and have never had a problem with quality. Of course the price is great and the Pit holds some fabulous bargains most with very "liveable defects" e.g. King size his/hers memory foam mattress and split box spring for $500 because box spring cover had black mark on it. We bought a sofa table from scratch and dent...no problems with that, the price was right. We also bought a sofa and chaise (the concord set) about 2 years ago and feel not only are they extremely uncomfortable but you just feel as though they will fall apart any day now. 3years max total lifespan full time use. The microfiber does not repel stains as they claim. The fabric has ripped at the seams on the chaise... When you go to the store, just lift up the edge of what you are looking at and you call feel how little materials are actually used to construct them...weak, cheap and definitely not durable. They also do not negotiate prices (at least not the store location we go to). We were able to go to another popular chain furniture store (R+F) who does negotiate with you and for 2-300 more, got a much more solid set of couchs. Even though the prices are low at Bobs, you might be surprised that spending just a bit more will get you a LOT more in quality. Good luck!

I, like Cindy, don't like the pressure sales. They do accost you at the door and if you tell them you just want to browse, they linger in the background and come over if they see you looking at something for longer than a few seconds with a sales pitch. I find the lighting in the store is very soft and somewhat low, therefore you cannot truly see the furniture. The tables I purchased, which I thought were glass and dark stained wood, are actually glass and painted tin. The delivery staff did not attach the headboard to the bedframe, he pushed the headboard behind the bed and did not leave the screws. There were hundreds of those little static balls covering my living room where they put the furniture together. What a mess to clean up. Price was good, but then again, sometimes you do get what you pay for and I will not purchase from them again. I would rather pay a little more for better quality.

We are very private people and would rather shop alone until we have questions. We really don't like how a sales person accosts you right when you walk in the door and then they follow you around. The minute I look interested they are right there. Sometimes I'm just looking around and then I start to feel guilty that I'm wasting their time. However, I do like the selection and the prices.

There are some really good deals at this furniture store. The dining room set we purchased is great. We were able to have it delievered in three days and thats a plus for me. The only thing about this store is when you see something you have to grab it when you can or you will be out of luck. I am not sure if they have a limited inventory or what. Overall the experiences we have had at this store are positive.

Bought a bedroom set from Bobs about 5 years ago. They claimed it was 100% Italian lacquer, ya right...its painted paper that falls off in a couple years. You can literally peel it off with your hand. The chest that we bought fell apart. The drawers fell off. My bedroom looked like a junk yard. I called them to tell them how unhappy I was and all they can say was "oh well; your warranty is expired. No apologizies or anything. Very rude and d0nt care about the customer. Dont shop here, furniture is a piece of junk!

I find the furniture at Bob's to be not the highest quality, which should not have surprised me as that is not their aim. The deals are good, but I would not buy anything that you would want to last. Good stuff for a first apartment maybe. I do not love huge stores like this, so perhaps I am biased to begin with. But they do have deals and offer delivery...

No high pressure sales tactics and the prices are competitive. In the back of the store, there is an area called "the pit" where you can find mismatched items, scratch and dent, etc. at bargain basement prices. No gimmicks!

Everyone loves the snack area - complimentary candy, cookies and lemonade. They have several cafe tables to sit down and relax and enjoy a snack.
