i was disgusted with george harte, first i spent the 100.00 to have them "diagnose" my murano in 7/10. they inflated the estimate-to the point that the mechanic i gave it to explained that my car didn't need these repairs, and i had it fixed for less than 200.00-their price for actual things that were completely fine with my care-was inflated to 1200.00. very sad, but then my son took his nissan maxima to them, and the told him the car was worth fixing and charged him 2000.00. less than 6 weeks later, the transmission went on the nissan maxima. when i say disgusting rip off artists-i mean it.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAAAAAAAAAAAAD it was fun just to sit back and listen to this cartoon of a man lie to me. My salesperson was the type who just knows he is the SMARTEST man on earth and can say whatever he wants because..well..I'm an idiot, I finally had enough and stood up, thanked him, and walked away. The man lives to lie. He ENJOYS it.

My daughter bought an Infiniti from Harte Infiniti of West Haven. This is the first car that she has had that she bought herself. She decided on the SUV model. She received only one key and no manual for the vehicle. After numerous phone calls, they finally got her another key but no manual. The salesman never even returned phone calls about this matter. She also paid for an electronic starter to be put in her vehicle. Well, she has owned the car for 10 months and the starter still does not work. She recently brought the vehicle in for service and was told that she needed front and rear brakes at a cost of $700. She took the vehicle somewhere else and had the work done for $450. Beside the price--who needs all four brakes at once after 10 months. The management is quick with their rude responses and makes no attempt to remedy a situation. I expect more from a higher end car dealer but they just do not deliver. We asked to speak to Mr. Harte and were told that he is too busy. We want an up front meeting with Mr, Harte and we want this situation remedied. Harte Infiniti just lost a long time customer. My daughter has many years and many cars to buy!! Your loss.

I was a little leary of George Harte Nissan after having reading negative reviews on line. But I have to say after 4 years of excellent service here, they did not let me down. Last week, I had my Nissan Quest in the shop, and the bill was enormous. There was a $2,200 fee for a "timing chain" problem as well as several other minor repairs, potentially resulting in a bill of over $3,000. Because I had kept up with the maintenance at George Harte Nissan, Kurt initiated a call to the manufacturer to get them to help with the timing chain. Next day, he told me good news that the mfg. would pay for the major repair. Also, they got me another van for a free rental for the weekend so I could still carpool for my son's birthday party!

I have had two terrible experiences with George Harte Nissan in the past several months. My fiance and I were both faithful customers there and we will never return again. He purchased four new tires there less than 17 months ago. One of his tires deflated and they told us that they had purchased the tire from a third party so the warranty was not valid and that if the tires had been from their stock, they would have paid for 50% of the new tire. He was not informed at the time of purchase that his tires were purchased from a third party. My experience several months ago was also terrible. I had been to Firestone and they told me that I needed my front tie rod replaced and were going to charge me under $200 for this. I took the car to George Harte and ended up paying over $1,100 for unecessary repairs and then my check engine light turned on just days later and they refused to even check the problem for free. I had to pay $90 for them to do a check-engine light diagnostic. The people in the service department were very rude to me. George Harte Nissan uses unfair business practices and have no concept of customer service! I wish I had listened to all of the other reviews and never gone here. Please don't make the same mistake I did... stay far away from this place!

George Harte Nissan is committed to 100% customer satisfaction. George Harte, as a part of the Harte Auto Group, does not in any way condone any negative business practices of any kind and have taken measures to ensure our customers are 100% pleased. We take great pride in the fact that we are a full disclosure dealership that exists to build on relationships and not just sell vehicles. We continue to improve and I personally welcome feedback of all kinds. Erin Touponse, Harte Auto Group, erint@harteautogroup.com

Aside from the lack of respect received from the sales manager Dave Taylor at the Infiniti location, be wary of George Harte Auto Group's business practices in general. I did meet some nice and competent sales folks there, but I would still be cautious. I would be cautious because of the following:
A Nissan sales rep there told me while laughing that they sold tons of cars at as much as $2,000 over MSRP during cash for clunkers. While this is legal, it gives you an idea of how they take advantage of people. Every business has a right to profit, but I certainly wouldn't brag about that, and I feel bad for people without the skill to negotiate because they really get taken advantage of.
More importantly, one practice that another dealer said they do when I showed him my offer is as follows, and I confirmed they did what he said they would. I negotiated an offer for a lease which I left with that no one could even match. I personally still thought it was high but no dealer knew how George Hart Nissan could offer this deal, as apparently it was an unprofitable deal with a loss of about $500 to them. They all told me to do it with George Harte because it was a great deal, if it was in fact true. When no one can even match it, you go back to Harte and then they tell you that it was a mistake. Since you are there again after visiting other dealers they will make a new offer to you no different than anyone else will, but by then you just want to get the deal done and you have a higher probability of buying from them the second time around and they get the business. Sure enough, when I called back wanting to come in and do the deal, they told me it was a mistake and couldn't be honored. They said If I had tried to do it the day given to me, they would have noticed it when they re-ran the numbers. This doesn't sound like an honest mistake if other dealers told me to expect it after looking at my George Harte sheet.
I did not do business with George Harte Nissan/Infiniti or any other affiliated dealership, nor would I recommend anyone to. The treatment from Dave Taylor at Infiniti was simply unbelievable and way beyond an aggressive salesman. No class or tact whatsoever, a truly arrogant and obnoxious man. Everyone I tell this story to says that George Harte has a bad reputation. I am sure people had good experiences there, but I certainly did not. They were the only dealer to attempt the tactic of giving me a deal they wouldn't honor to get me to come back and then try to close me.

this dealership is not a professional place...my mother had bought an altima with 25,000 miles on it there and it was only a few years old which made me wonder why it wasnt certified considering your car has to be under i think 6 yrs or 75k...they then told me, "well, we dont certify every car on our lot" i then asked "well, why not?" they had no answer for me. this place lied about the pricing on the car, they dont have loaner cars which is rediculous, and they are just shady. i would most definitely go to the other local nissan dealer (Executive Nissan in North Haven, CT) for any services or repairs. even money hungry Napoli Nissan in Milford, CT is a better choice...

After calling them about an SUV they listed online, I was told it was on the lot and ready for a test drive. When I got down there, not only was the car not there, it had actually been sold days before! They then tried to push me into something more expensive. I said no thank you and left, a little disgusted with the bait and switch but no big deal, I'd just move on and forget about it.
They actually took it to a whole new level. Two days later I got a call from a young salesman asking if I was still interested in the "switch" car they had tried to surprise me with. I said no, I had never been interested in that one in the first place. He then proceeded to angrily argue with me that it WAS what I wanted and that I was wasting their time. I informed him I had already bought something else, and he demanded to know WHY I had not come back to them for this awesome car. I explained that if he had been up front with me from the beginning I might have considered it, but the shady sales trick had made me uneasy about their business. I reminded him I had already bought another car anyway, so I asked him what he was expecting me to say. A muttered "<expletive> this..." as he hung up the phone.
...Wow.

I purchased a new Versa from this dealership and never again.Everyone there is notorious liar, salesman was not honest about delivery date, finance managers were not honest about interest rates, tried to sell some shady extended warranties and they got mad after I refused it. A lot of pressure and mistreatment, I would strongly advised everyoneto avoid this very unprofessional place.

We returned an old lease early and leased 2 new cars from this dealership. They didn't do the return lease process the right way and we got a bill for the remainder of our lease when we didn't even have the car!
They didn't inspect our new cars and we didn't have any oil in the tank for more than a week.
We went to another Nissan dealership not wanting to ever deal with Harte again. The other dealership told us we needed to get a rental car from Harte. When we called Harte they told us they would not get us a rental even though it was their fault. We told them we would complain about their dealership. Then the General Manager actually called our house and threatened us saying he had all our personal information so go ahead and complain about his dealership!

lets start from past to recent... apparently I dont learn.
about 3 years ago my bf went to look at the maximas and the salesman told him a sentra looked more like his speed. We went to shelton and bought a 04 maxima. round two.
we went to george hart infiniti. the salesman seemed helpful but once again (maybe assuming we were to young or not serious about buying )passed us along to another salesman while he went and helped another customer. that salesman continued to talk to my bf instead of me about buying the car ignoring all my questions.
round 3
why you may ask did i purchace a car from george hart. i wanted a car w/ four wheel drive the maxima was fun but not what i wanted for the winter. because they are owned by george hart i was able to get a great trade in. i purchaced the m35. everything went smooth. including jim the salesman who was great. I then took it for my first oil change. they give a complimentry car wash w/ each change. they scratched the hood down to the primer ruined the $800 dollars of plastic i had put on it and scratched the grill as well. They replaced it all but acted as though it was ridiculous we were upset because they fixed it and it was "like new". But i guess yopu can say shame on me for going there.

NOTE: This review pertains to the used-car lot of the dealership only.
Found a car online for a cheap price. Traveled 2 hours to see the car. There were no prices on this car, or any other cars in the lot. Upon asking the price, the salesman claimed the internet price was mistakenly entered and was not valid.
Eventually, after negotiating the price down below their inflated price (but still below the advertised internet price), i purchased the car. The dealership botched up the sales process as well---they misspelled my address in two different ways on the sales forms.
