Dr. Ruben is my dr and I most say he is awesome! I was switched to him when pregnant with my daughter from a different practice. He has always made me feel comfortable, and answered most questions. If I call with an issue, I usually hear from someone by the end of the day. Dr Guilloti ended up delivering my daughter who came at 36 weeks and she was great. Very friendly and calm considering I never met her before. After I had delivered, Dr. Ruben came up personally to congratulate us and meet who was giving me all that trouble. For that, I was both shocked but made me like him even more! I ran into him outside of the practice and he said hi to my daughter by name! There has been a couple of times when Dr ruben is on vacation that Dr Montasano has had to address a pressing issue. She has been very nice trying to help me.Granted there some office staff that I pray I don't get when I am there...I will continue to go there.

The doctors are great - their billing practices are horrible!! office visits must be paid at the time of service no matter what insurance you have. ALL prenatal care and delivery must be paid in ADVANCE on a budget plan if insurance does

The office staff is rude and unattentive. I've only have one doctor there and plan on switching especially after my last visit. I had done a home pregnancy test that had came positive so I went to my dr to be sure. While we were talking I was telling her how long ago I had stopped taking my birth control and she basically was like well good job now look what happened. It's true that I am younger than most since I am only 21 but the way dr montessano approached me was very offensive. While talking more she had asked me if this pregnancy was a good thing and if I was happy. I asked her what she meant by that and she blurted out with "well do you plan to go through with the pregnancy?" I am the kind of person who would never consider abortion under any circumstance so this was very offensive to me that she would go down that road simply based on my age. I don't have an issue with the doctors but the office staff seem rather unhappy. I hear friends and others talk on the outside about the management personnel we live in a small town. You can tell who they are, they walk around with very hard faces and look very stern, not pleasant at all. Whenever this particular woman tour the place you can see the look of disappointment on their faces. You see a lot while in the waiting area and when checking out as well. If I didn't like my Doctor I would not be attending the practice, an unhappy staff = poor work and it all start with management!

Dr. Ruben and Dr. LaMonica are wonderful. Each one delivered a baby for me. They tag-teamed as their shifts changed and had me come back into the office hourly as I was preparing to go into labor with my third child. This was to be sure I made it to the hospital in time since my second daughter crowned in the elevator on the way up to maternity. Dr. LaMonica heard my concerns of a very bad episiotomy with my first child (delivered in another state) and did everything possible (he was so skilled with perineal massage) to prevent tearing or the need for an episiotomy. I would recommend them both for any woman of child-bearing years. Dr. Ruben also consulted with me and my 14 year old daughter about her very heavy and erratic periods and made every effort to make her feel comfortable and heard (and no internal exam!) I'm now in the mid-forties and not having anymore babies but Dr. Ruben has still been very helpful with perimenopausal symptoms and vitamin supplements to help deal with them.

Loved Lamonica for years. Never thought I would ever have to leave. But when I started into my 50's and going through my change it seemed to me he was less then interested about the changes of my body. I changed to Montasano and she seems to be on the same page. I wish I did not have to change. I liked him alot. Yes it's true, the staff is very rude. I get my mammogram every year for at least 15 years and the same lady who does them acts like she has never met me. I'm lucky if she answers my questions. I say if your having a baby see Lamonica he is great! If you are over 50 go to Montasano.

I switched doctors, simply because of the support staff. The office staff has an astonishingly high turnover. Even when pregnant and going to the office every week, I never saw the same person twice. They're rude and have bad attitudes. My doctor (Ruben) was fine, but it's bad enough going to the gyno without having to deal with *itchy staff.

I have only had good experiences with Physicians for Women. I moved to the area and had some medical concerns and was referred to them. Dr. Ruben was my primary doctor for the first concern and continued to be my doctor when I became pregnant with my first child a few months later. He was always concerned about me and my pregnancy(it was high risk). If I had a question or concern, a nurse or dr. would return my call within the hour. During delivery, Dr. Devita was the on call doctor, she was very friendly, understood my needs, and explained everything. I had an emergency c-section and all of the staff were very helpful during the process. Afterwords, Dr. Ruben made a special trip to congratulate myself and my husband on the birth even though he was not on duty at the hospital that day. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a sincere, helpful, concerned practice.

My first doctor at Physicians for Women was with Dr. Devita, she is a horrible doctor she made me get blood-work and then told me I had PCOS, she told me to look it up myself, the next doc was Dr.Gillioti she seemed like she didn't care, she gave me clomid and I was on my way.Dr.Montesano was next, she was horrible too, she told me that clomid didn't work (only did one isolated blood-test) and told me there was nothing else she could do. Now that I have Dr.Lamonica he told me I'm fine and can start trying to get pregnant again and he would help us more. Get Dr.Lamonica he's awesome!Trust me I wanted to leave that clinic but that I have him I'm staying.

Don't leave, I also had a problem with the staff one time - but Dr. LaMonica is unbelievable - he will return your call even late in the evenings and on week-ends!
I was going to another doctor in another place before but good thing I switched to Dr. LaMonica!

I have been with Physicians for women for a very long time. I have always been very happy there....Until now that I am pregnant. I am upset every single time that I have to deal with them. I was told not to talk or ask questions during my ultra sound, a nurse was extremely rude to me during a phone call one time, and recently I had a lot of pain and my doctor wouldn't call me back! Every time that I call, I wait all day to actually speak to someone. I also have had to call numerous times to get results of specific tests. I'm very bummed!! They treat me like a number. I'm nervous about leaving after having been there for so long, but I'm just so unhappy!

Dr. Lamonica and the others there give the very best in health services, are compassionate, learned and all-around, completely incomparable. The other posts are right-on; Dr. Lamonica makes you feel as if you are his only patient; this is well worth waiting an extra few minutes in the waiting room. The wait indicates that he is truly giving each patient the time they need, not rushing her out the door.

I have also never had a single bad experience with any staff member or doctor, and have been a patient for 10 years, including coming to the practice mid-pregnancy with #2, then having 2 more children with them. They are the absolute best choice in this area, and if you can get in as a new patient with Dr. Lamonica, I recommend you do!

.. he is sincere, direct, comforting, and pro-active. He makes me feel like I am his only patient. I do agree with other posts that it is hard to schedule anything around your Appt. (I have had to wait up towards an hour), but honestly - the service is worth the wait.

I went for my first OB/GYN checkup, and although I loved my GYN (Dr.Gilotti) i felt that once I was out of the office, having someone to return my calls was very difficult (it took all day) and it was hard to speak to my doctor or a nurse directly, even if I had serious questions. The doctors thenselves are great, but there are some issues with the general practice.

Dr. Lamonica is the greatest doctor I ever met in the US, he knows my case as if I am his only patient, taking time to explain and answer my questions, returning my call even on week-ends. He makes extra research about my case and is really doing his homework. He gives me assurance that everything's gonna be alright.

What is routine for most doctors is between life and death for patients like me, it's good to have a doctor who understand and who really cares!

I've just started with Physicians for Women and in trying to coordinate appointments for both my daughter and myself, the office scheduler quoted incorrect availability and on another occasion, mistakenly had my daughter down for my appointment. It's difficult to get a time at all, the office does indeed have a factory atmosphere, and nurses do not seem very compassionate. Our doctor was nice, though.

If you need a warm personal office for your gyn/ob care, this is really not the place for you. The practice is large, with many office staff. My concern, especially for my young daughter, is the accuracy and accountability of record keeping for blood, pap tests, and other findings and results. Heaven forbid the mistaken identity.

I cannot say enough Dr. Lamonica. I have been going to Physicians for Woman for over 10 years now and have a very unique condition. Dr. Lamonica always remembers exactly what is going on with my health and with my life. He takes the time to talk with me. He is always concerned about my health and well being. It seems the staff and nurses do change a lot but Dr. LaMonica is the most dedicated and caring doctor I have ever met!

I initially had a very nice experience, in which another MD in the practice (BM) stayed 2 hours late on her shift in the hospital (rather than give me to an intern) to perform a D&C for me after my miscarriage - after I had waited in the hospital for almost 7 hours for my appointment. It was the right thing to do, and it was very nice.

However, what is very poor is that Dr. G was too hasty to prescribe fertility drugs without adequate information, and not available to discuss concerns. Initially I was pleased that this practice was suggesting bloodwork proactively, after my miscarriage. However since my post miscarriage cycles were all over the place, the bloodwork levels were not accurate, as they were taken at the wrong time in the cycle. The MD unfortunately took one isolated blood test (Progesterone) performed at the wrong time in a cycle (prior to ovulation) to freely give an infertility diagnosis (LPD), and prescribed fertility drugs. Her comment was, if you want to be pregnant, then my goal is to get you there as fast as possible. She did know that my first pregancy was a happy accident, and that prior to this moment, we had never even tried to get pregnant. Therefore the MD was suggesting that my first cycles post loss be medicated, without ever trying to conceive naturally. Of course I took the meds, even with my doubts, and had side effects. Once I realized on my own that the bloodwork was taken at the wrong time, and tried to call back, the nurses were like "do you want the drugs or not?" I really wanted the MD to know that the blood levels seemed inaccurrate, to have another level drawn or an ultrasound to truely determine if I indeed had a LPD. I never got to talk to the MD about my conerns. I have since been charting on my own, and finding my cycles to be finally back to normal. I think it is terrible that I was given meds without follow up, and an infertility diagnosis without real diagnostic tests. Additionally, why on earth would an OBGYN not teach me about fertility charting, my own fertility signs, and timing intercourse before prescribing meds? This was way too invasive and not holistic at all. What ever happened to natural healing? If you use this place - know what you want, and advocate for yourself.

Call me old fashioned, but I believe you should be able to talk to your MD, even when it is not an emergency, to plan for your care and make joint decisions together.

I agree with "factory-like" service". I am glad expectant mothers think they are great, but wait, when your past your childbearing years, they are cold and treat you like your wasting their time.

I moved from NY to the Danbury area, and needed to find a GYN/OBG. Dr LaMonica came highly recommended from several nurses. He gave me outstanding prenatal care. It was a pregnancy complicated by bleeding at various times throughout the nine months. He always retuned my calls and patiently answered my questions. Imminent questions were returned immediately, others later in the day. It takes a special MD to stay late in the evening to phone his patients. He delivered my third child, a beautiful healthy baby girl at Danbury Hospital. His compassion and attention were phenomenal. I would highly recommend him!

I had my first child with Physicians for Women and am now pregnant with my second. While my doctor, Dr. Gilotti, is wonderful, unfortunately, the office itself is so busy there are long hold times to speak to anyone, as a working mom appointments in the morning, evening or weekends are very difficult to get, nurses take all day to return a call regarding a simple question and you cannot speak to a doctor regarding a problem unless your problem is deemed an emergency. I finally got sick of the frustrating, impersonal treatment by the office staff and nurses and left in the middle of my second pregnancy. I just think that my doctor's office should be available to address my valid concerns (about pain, fatigue, etc.) even if they are not emergencies.

Dr. Montesano and the rest of the "Physicians For Women" staff both doctors etc., are top shelf.

They have a mammography center in the lower level of the building as well. So it's one stop shopping.

If there is an emergency they are right on top of it. The always-return calls promptly unlike many
doctor's offices.

There has never been a problem with the fact I am a long distance patient having to drive an hour to see them. They have no problem coordinating care with both other Connecticut and Massachusetts hospitals, physicians etc.

Dr. Montesano and the rest of the "Physicians For Women" staff both doctors etc., are top shelf.

They have a mammography center in the lower level of the building as well. So it's one stop shopping.

I moved to Danbury.. when I was 7 mnts pregnant. This group practise was willing to take me as a patient without any hassle and my doctor is really friendly and very nice, Takes time to answer my quries. On call doctor is available is there is any emergency.
