Tucked away in Manchester, CT. is arguably the best classical ballet school in the state of Connecticut, and probably one of the best in the region. Although housed in less than impressive facilities, it nonethless, is churning out tremendous ballet dancers that are competitive at a National quality level. \r
\r
What is lacks in fanc facilities, it makes up 10 fold in sheer inspiration, drive and commitment to excellence. This is the little engine that could thanks to a dynamic and highlly talented teaching staff that is totally committed to its students. CCB's charm lies in its ability to be totally incusive and open to all talent levels. Weight and body issues are non-existent here, and dnacers are accepted and embraced for what they are. They magically find a way to bring diverse talent levels together in a supportive atmosphere and produce exceptional results. A positive and family friendly atmosphere is a hallmark of CCB, and this makes it quite different from some of the other schools which are more rigid and cold in an effort to instill quality. Having come from other dance settings, I cannot recommend CCB more highly. \r
\r
How a ballet scjool of this exceptional quality ended up in Manchester, CT is beyond me, but Manchester ought to thank its lucky stars for having such a special place in its midst.

Pros: Superior Teaching, Growing National Reputation, Family Friendly, Affordable, Inclusive

Cons: Facilities are not impressive but suffice

Connecticut Concert Ballet is an amazing , power house classical ballet training school. Pre-professional instruction is top shelf and the dancers it is producing are exceptional. Many have been accepted and placed in the leading Ballet programs in the US, including American Ballet Theater , Boston Ballet, Joffrey, Atlanta Ballet, Philadelphia School of Arts, etc..\r
\r
While Nutmeg Ballet in Torrington, CT. gets the lion share of attention because it was funded through a state funded ecomonic development project and its sports impressive new facilities, CCB stands toe to toe in the level and quality of instruction and stands as one one of the elite training schools in Southern New England. The word on the street is CCB shines because it treats its students very well and there is a real healthy, friendly and supportive atmoshphere among the kids, and no pressure whatsoever in body weight , type or other nonsense. \r
\r
For any parent that wants top rate instruction for a promising dancer without risking placing their children in an unhealthy atmosphere CCB is the place. \r
\r
The one negative is CCB facilities are older and they could use some new space and better physical facilities. Withn that said, it has no appreciable impact on the students motivation, enthusiasm or performance level. Its actually a testament to the fine quality of instruction at CBB.\r
\r
I can't say enough good things about it.
