If you don't mind waiting 45 minutes for salad, the food was just okay. As first time patrons, we felt snubbed. If you didn't know the owners, you were essentially chopped liver. All the tables around us were extremely friendly with the owners/waitstaff and were served their salads and entrees before we even got our salads. It took 20 minutes for someone to come over and give us a menu. Out of our party, only one of us was truly satisfied with their meals. So, unless you have 3 hours to spend... or you know the owners... I suggest passing on Pappadellas. If you do decide to check it out, make sure you check your bill for accuracy because we were almost overcharged $10 without an apology.

As of Nov. 2009, Country Inn has officially changed their name to Pappadellas. This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the entire Danbury area. The prices are extremely reasonable and the wait staff are very friendly and helpful in helping in selecting wine or answering any food preparation questions. Former chefs from La Fortuna, Andre and Luis consistently have such amazing nightly specials we hardly ever order off the main menu. The decor is lovely with a Tuscan feel, but the place is small and fills up fast so a reservation, especially on the weekend, is a must. I can't wait to go back!

No longer "Country Inn" (although they *need* a sign!), this restaurant (which does have a name, although I can't recall what the waiter called it -- "Pappadellas" sounds right, apparently a combination of the two chef/owner's names).

Anyway, for those of you who didn't care much for Country Pizza (although I enjoyed their Greek-style 'za), this is *not* the restaurant you remember. The chefs are producing food that is both utterly traditional, and yet their clear talents allow them to elevate familiar dishes dishes to something quite special. Let me put it this way -- the butter that came with the crusty Italian bread was a work of art in itself, with the perfect complement of roasted garlic and a drizzling of olive oil.

Service is very professional but amiable -- the staff have apparently all worked together at area restaurants for nigh-on three decades. Our frequent requests to hear the specials (which amounted to a feast for the ears) repeatedly led to no apparent fazing of the gentleman who delivered a detailed (but not pretentious) description of the techniques and ingredients that went into each dish.

I could mention the food, but why take up more time? The food will speak for itself; as a long time restaurant-goer in the area, this unassuming little place just might be creating the best damn Italian in town. Go -- and soon.

(P.S. -- for those who fondly remember the late, great Bella Italia -- it is my understanding that the head chef was something of a protege of Bella's chef. If you miss the level of quality Bella Italia delivered for so many years, this may be your answer.)

(P.P.S. -- guys, seriously. Get a sign. I drove past your place for eight months without realizing it had become a new restaurant! And I live about two minutes away...although you were packed, and maybe I should be careful what I wish for. Cat's out of the bag, I guess ;) Bottom line, great work, and I look forward to coming back.

Under new ownership!
Formerly known as The Country Inn, Pappadellas is a quaint, little restaurant with very big tastes.
Best Penne Ala Vodka! Andre, Luis and Danilo are the best! Personal service and great food! Stop by to see them! Make reservations!!

Excellent, yummy pizza, lots of variety and great place for lunch. The place atmosphere is great, no wait and fast service. I think this place has the best pizzas I ever ate.
