I think every high school in the area has their senior and junior proms here. They're just that good.
I've been here for several charity functions as well as proms. They never cease to stun the crowd. Plenty of room, beautiful grounds, a ton of parking. Upstairs, they have rooms for the wedding party to prepare, and a grand staircase leading down to the main floor. Perfect for photos.
Fabulous service and wonderful food. I come here every year for weddings and charity diners. They go to the tops for all occasions here. Beauty is all around with fountains, ponds, gazebos, and different hall rooms to match your theme for the occasion. Expensive, but worth every dime.
What can you possibly say that is bad about the Aqua Turf? The food is outstanding and the service is impossible to beat. I am not fond of prime rib but the meat that was served to me at a wedding just melted in my mouth. And, they came around with seconds. The rooms are beautiful and the grounds are spectacular. I think it might be the best banquet facility in the state.
This place has it all. You don't need a wedding planner. They do it! From the first appointment to the final day, everything was worry free. They answered all my questions and I had alot! I was probably a bridezilla but they didn't care. Anyways, the wedding day was fantastic. While we took pictures, they waited in us hand and foot. We got all the drinks and food we wanted. That was good cuz I didn't sit down the rest of the day. I did get to eat my entree. The prime rib was just as they said...HUGE! They even kept it warm for us as we greetyed our guests. Everything from the planninmg to the actual wedding days was great. And it was just as affordable if not better than some other places we looked at. The only draw back, which I really didn't notice was that the parking was a bit far from the banquet hall but then not everyone can park in front when you have 300 guests. You could always drop people off too. But I would reccommend The Aqua Turf to anyone! Thanks for making my day great!
Pros: food and service
I am always amazed at the wonderful experience I have at the Aqua Turf. I quality of the food and the never ending changes to the flowers and grounds are always a pleasure to see. This catering facility does not just stick with what is working they strive to better themselves yearly and I think they accomplish this. I look forward to the day my daughters get married, because I know that is will be a outstanding day. Looking forward to the future.
I recently had my wedding reception at the Aqua Turf club and what a wonderful time. Because all the Sat nights were taken I booked a Sat day wedding, I could not have been happier. The grounds were amazing, the staff is incredible, it was apparent that they love their jobs since they really made us feel like family and all staff had smiles. The food was wonderful, I loved their fresh cooked pasta and Prime Rib. The sat day wedding worked out great for us, after the reception we went back to my moms house and had another great time. I will recommend a sat day and the Aqua Turf anytime and to any one, they are the BEST, thats why they win the Advocate's best place for a wedding.
Pros: Professional staff, Best food, hot and fresh
Cons: Not enough Sat nights in a year
If you have ever been to this banquet hall, you know that it is nice. Be warned that behind the scenes the is a very different story. They have thier own bakery in which the rolls and pastries are made. After they have been served to the public, the bread baskets the public had they 're bare hands in are brought into the kitchen are recycled for breadcrumbs. Used roast beef is saved on trays right in view of the public. Let me remind you that it has been sitting out room temperature for twenty minutes. It is then brought into the hot kitchen, dumped into a bucket and left to sit there for an hour sometimes. The used meat's journey doesn't end here. It gets to go into all of the meat sauce that is served to custumers. The butter on tables gets melted down, recycled, and used again. If you have ever been sick after induging in Aqua Turf's fine food, now you know why.
So it is expensive to have a function here. With all the corners cut, where does your money go? Well the staff certainly do not see much of it. Nine dollars an hour is what the average waiter or waitress makes. The breaks are short and few and far between. An average break is less than ten minutes and they are paid breaks but if you work 16 hours, it is inhumaine if you only get three breaks in that time. On the contracts for weddings, proms, exc. there is a percentage of gratuity that is added to the bill. The waitstaff does not see a dime of that money. I honestly do not know where that money goes. Is that legal? If you get hired here, they do not provide uniforms. They cost about one hundred dollars. Not including nylons for women who must wear a skirt. You must pay for all of this out of pocket.
I just thought the public should be warned about this place that has been slipping through the cracks for so many years. The truth about Aqua Turf's fine food and staff is not so pretty but it is true.
Pros: The appearance will decieve anyone.
Cons: Unsanitary conditions behind the scenes
