Read good reviews for the Elm's Inn for food. Got there and thought it was nice looking, but nothing above and beyond normal small town New England B&Bs. The pub was empty on a Friday night at 6PM, so I kind of started to reign in my hopes and expectations.

Service was adequate, but then the food started rolling out. Perfect sized portions with flavors that absolutely popped. The Foie Gras was amazing, the breads were warm, fresh and delicious. The entrees were gorgeous to look at and just as great tasting. I had the venison, while my wife had the beef sauerbraten. Our friends went with classic prime rib and veal medallions. Everything was delicious and the seasonal sides were fantastic compliments to the entrees. We tried to fight the urge for dessert, but gave in. This was the only disappointing portion of the meal. The desserts were simply ok.

Much to my surprise the "pub" was PACKED, as was their second dining room. Turns out that Ridgefield- though a sleepy little town, dines out later than I thought. My party enjoyed a great meal and then went over to the Ridgefield Playhouse to see a show. Not a bad evening in the burbs.
