.

I just went to dinner with my husband at the beachhead in East Haven. It was our third time in the restaurant since we live in the condo next door. The first two times we went the meal was "passable", but this time we both agreed NEVER to go back!!

The service was terrible...the waiter was nice but he appeared to only be able to serve one table at a time. Thank goodness there were only three tables full when we were there. Even on such a sow night, it took 45 minutes to get our appetizers.

Then I found a fly in my dinner. I had only eaten a few bites when I discovered the critter. The waiter was very apologetic but when it was pointed out to the manager....I guess it was just too bad for us!! We were charged full price for our meal despite our unwelcome guest. Reading other reviews, I see that this is not an isolated incedent. This owner does not understand the concept of compensation in the restaurant business when something gross happens to a customer's dinner. The fact that we paid full price for our less than half eaten meal due to insects in the food just seals the decision for my husband and I to NEVER return to the restaurant and to do our best to make sure that our friends understand that this is not the cleanest place in town!
