I have used WHFA for about 20 years. They have always been kind, friendly and compassionate. My cats have been seen by Dr.s Kellogg, Laczak and most recently Denise Larochelle. They are all very knowledgeable and caring individuals. They effectively treat the animals and relate well to the humans that come with the pets. The office staff and the vet techs are all wonderful, too!

We have been going to WHFA for over 20 years and love the docs there! The office and exam rooms are clean, the staff is VERY friendly and the doctors really care about the animals they are treating. My cat had to have surgery and my 4 year old son was so worried about him that I asked if he could see our cat just for a minute to ease his mind. So they let us see our cat shortly after surgery while he was still recovering. It went above and beyond and really made my son feel better to actually see our cat and know that he was doing well.
WHFA is a great animal hospital....don't listen to any negative reviews :-)!!

We have been going to WHA for over 8 years with our 2 German Shepherds and the doctors and staff are the best! Even after moving over 1/2 hour away, we still take our dogs there as we wouldn't trust any place else with them. They saved our older dog's life when he began to bloat at home. It was evening, they were closing, but told us to get him down there. They saved his life and stayed several hours into the evening with him. Other places might send you to an emergency vet if they were about to close - at triple the cost. They are always helpful and kind and know their stuff!!

Don't listen to any negative reviews, they are great. They care about the animals they treat which is most important. Dr. Laczak is one of a kind, thanks for everything.

I think it might be "friendly" at the front desk if your one of their neighbors. Otherwise, they are pretty rude. The place looks kind of dirty, too. The vets seem ok.

Winsted Hospital for Animals is the best hospital around. I drive out of my way to go to them. There r honest no matter what the truth is, their prices are the cheapest that i have seen, and the care that is given to all the animals is extrodinary. Dr. Laczak is the nicest vet that i have meet. He handles the cats so well even my meanest ones. He never uses force to control an animal and never loses his cool. Dr Kellog is also a great vet. He is very nice and his jokes r so funny. If u r looking for a great vet hospital with great vets and prices then this is the place for u. The care and sanitation is amazing, and they will c any emergency at anytime!!! WHA is the place to go!!!!!!

I have used the Winsted Hospital for Animals for over 10 years now. Both Dr. Kellog & Dr. Laczak are superb doctors and the whole staff there is amazing.
One of my dogs recently was ill and was treated there for 3 weeks. Everyone there was kinder to her and to me than could even be hoped for. I only wish I had been treated as well when I have seen my own doctors.
They are exceptional doctors and an exceptional group of people. I and my dog, Jessica were blessed to have them there for both of us during this very difficult time.

When my dog became extremely ill (and was later diagnosed with stomach cancer), he was treated with the utmost respect and compassion by Dr. Kellogg, the vet techs, and the staff at Winsted Hospital for Animals. Jake (a long-time client at WHA) was made comfortable and cared for in his last days, and when his time came and we had to let him go, the honesty and integrity of the vet was absolutely astounding.

I highly recommend them.

After my cat was misdiagnosed not once, but twice ("I don't know what it is but I wouldn't worry about it" I paid $50 for the so called vet to look at it and give that opinion. I bet it was the fastest 5 minute $50 he ever made!) I decided I was not happy with that diagnosis and decided to go for a second opinion. I went to Winsted Hospital for Animals where Dr. Laczak said "I don't know what it is but I think it should come off." I agreed. It turned out to be a malignant melanoma, very rare in cats. Muffy went for a six month check up when Dr. Laczak found another lump. I decided to go ahead with one more surgery. The day of the surgery arrived and when I brought Muffy in and he examined her, he found that the tumor had grown faster than he thought it would and now he felt that it was wrapped around her collarbone. He told me that the only guarantee he could give me was that he was sure he would not be able to get all of it. He also said that a surgery of that magnitude would be extremely traumatic for Muffy and he said "I don't think I'm willing to put her through that." Another vet would go ahead and do the very expensive surgery looking at just dollar signs. Dr. Laczak is not like that. In my opinion he is what a veterinarian should be, a lover of animals who puts the animal's welfare first. I went in for two follow up appointments for which HE DID NOT CHARGE ME! I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr. Laczak. If that first vet had correctly diagnosed her cancer in the first place, we probably wouldn't be waiting for her to die. She is still with me, not in pain or at least she doesn't seem to be. She is eating and drinking and begging for kitty treats but she seems to be sleeping more and that's saying a lot for a cat that on average sleeps about 18 hours a day! Her tumor is huge about the size of a grapefruit on the side of her neck and now it has started to bleed. Dr. Laczak did the right thing by Muffy and I will be eternally grateful for his caring ways for animals.

Winsted Hospital for Animals has provided excellent care for our family pets for almost 20 years, both a dog and cat. Dr. Kellog and the other staff offer quality, compassionate treatment. They have been very responsive and helpful in emergency situations as well, including a memorable Christmas Eve when the dog got into the rat poison. Highly recommended.

I used this Veterinary Hospital for 30 years and found them to be extremely caring. They were always there when I needed them.
All of the staff were wonderful, the Doctors knowledgeble and the price always reasonable. Have been unable to find the same great service in my new location.

I have been bringing my dogs and cats to Winsted Hospital for Animals for over 10 years and drive further than I need to because of the quality of care I receive from each and every person there. All of the doctors are WONDERFUL as are all of the front desk personnel and assistants. I was first introduced to them when nobody else would take my beloved dog during an emergency situation because, in the emergency, I could not find proof of rabies vaccination. The great folks at Winsted Hospital didn't let me down that morning and have never let me down since! Out of 5 stars I give them 10.

This animal hospital is well equiped, but not very caring. They often rush you out of the office making it unabel for you to ask many questions. Prices are good, but care is just Okay.
