The lawyers at Costello and McCormack worked tirelessly on my divorce and obtained the results I sought. Attorney Costello was my advocate during negotiations and court hearings and was always more than a match for the other side. I highly recommend Attorney Costello and his team.

Thank you Kieran Costello for giving me the best Christmas present I could ever ask for - the finalization of my divorce and custody case that has been going on for way too long. I had to get rid of my previous attorney because it seemed like everything was at a stand still. My ex-husband's attorney was dragging my name through the mud and things were looking worse and worse for me. Attorney Costello jumped right in, always returned my calls and emails and put an end to this horrible process. He taught me how to "pick my battles" and let certain things go while never giving up on what really mattered (my children). He is not like many other lawyers, stirring up controversy just to churn a fee. The whole tone of my case changed once he got involved and I never would have made it through the holidays if not for him. I am eternally grateful to him.

I completely disagree with the negative comments referring to Attorney Costello and his firm. A family member referred me to Attorney Costello for my recent divorce. I found him to be experienced, very compassionate and completely considerate of my financial and emotional needs. With two small children and practically no income from their father, my world was falling apart. Attorney Costello put the interest of my children and my needs first, and his comical demeanor always made me laugh, which made this very stressful process go so much smoother. Whenever I called the office and he was not available I would speak to his associate Claire DeVidas who was also involved in my case and she too was caring and gave me the advice I needed. Also, most importantly he DISCOUNTED my bill set-up a payment arrangement.

Best attorney I have ever used. I called when I caught my scumbag wife in bed with my best friend and explained I wanted an immediate divorce. Kieran explained then entire process perfectly and his estimate for the cost of ditching the witch was right on. None of the horror stories I have heard from other people about a divorce happened. He managed to get her out of my life in just under three months and alimony free. This firm made a horrible experience doable and fast. The total cost was just over 9k and could not be more pleased.

Attorney Costello and his team at Costello and McCormack, P.C. helped me through my divorce, he kept his promise by fixing my problems and getting me the financial support and property that I deserved from my marriage. I am now financially secure for the remainder of my life as a result of his advocacy.

Attorney Costello and his associate, Claire Devidas kept me informed through every step of the divorce proceeding. They ensured that I was happy with every decision along the way and they were always availabe when I needed to talk. Attorney Costello's billing was very fair and his advice and the ultimate outcome of my case was well worth the money spent.

On top of being a very smart and strong advocate, he is also a very compassionate person. In my opinion, he is one of the best, if not the best attorney in the fairfield county area. Highly recommended!

I do not believe Attorney Costello to be accurate or fair in his billing statements and I believe his entire business is setup to pad the hours of his clients bills.
On August 18??th 2009 I hired Atty Costello to represent me in my divorce. I paid him a retainer fee of $3,500 that I do not see listed in his billing statement. I do not believe that a 30 second phone call is grounds for a .10 of an hour or greater charge.
On numerous occasions I had Atty Costello??s co-worker Claire Devidas call me to ask me a question only to find Atty Costello calling me back later in the day to ask me the same question. The lack of communication within his office is astounding.
On one court date Atty Costello did not follow procedure and the judge told him to get his act together and both parties were sent home. When I asked him if he was going to charge me he said yes. I am not responsible for his errors, lack of organizational skills or lack of procedural knowledge. I am also not responsible for all the times we were in the courthouse and he was counseling his other clients while billing me.
In September 2010 I told Atty Costello to subpoena the defendant and have my weekly payments to her revised since she got a job in August 2010. Atty Costello never followed through on these instructions which in turn cost me thousands of dollars in overpayments to the defendant.
Mr. Costello and his co worker Atty. Claire Devidas both spent time going over my personal property list and no action was taken on obtaining my personal possessions. It was written in our separation agreement to have a third party arbitrator handle the personal property issues. Why would they both spend time on this issue only to take no action on the process and pass it along to someone else to resolve. To date, I am still working to get my personal property out of my old house, no help by Mr. Costello but a hefty invoice.
I have had several lawyers state that my separation agreement and parenting plan were written very poorly, I will attach a copy of each. I have already spent a few days back in court to resolve issues on how the separation agreement and parenting plan was written. Atty Costello failed to state standard divorce verbiage in the final separation agreement and I had to hire a new lawyer to clean up Atty Costello??s mess. Ex: Each party shall maintain their own vehicles. The defendant??s car is still in my name and she has not paid her taxes so I need to take her back to court so I can register my vehicle without paying her back taxes.
More time should have been spent in understanding the importance and detail to be included in the financial affidavit. Some large amounts were overlooked and that once again cost me thousands of dollars. Ex: I have a $25,000 loan from my parents to pay for lawyer bills that was not included. I also pointed out errors in the defendant??s financial affidavit, sent the info to Atty Costello and he did nothing to contact the defendant??s attorney Janis Laliberte to make the corrections. I do not believe he even read the email. This issue was eventually pointed out by the judge in the final court appearance on October 25??th 2010.
In our initial meeting Atty Costello told me that I could not take any money out of my 401K. When it came time for him to be paid, he told me to take the money out of my 401K as a loan to myself. Not only do I need to pay back that loan but in the final divorce settlement I was told that because I took a loan out of my 401K in the amount of $10,000 to pay my lawyer, I also needed to take a second loan in the amount of $10,000.00 to pay my ex wife. Because of Atty Costello??s advice I am stuck paying off 2 loans, my loan and the defendant??s loan. I find Atty Costello??s advice totally and completely unethical and downright disturbing. I barely have enough money to get by day-to-day with the amount of loans I have accumulated all due to Atty Costello??s unethical advice and his padded bills.
The first day when I met with Atty Costello??s he gave me an estimate for what the total divorce should cost me. He stated it usually averages between $6,000 - $8,000 dollars. His total bill to me was approximately $49,000.00. That appears to be a bait and switch to me.
I believe that Atty Costello was representing the defendant more than his own client and he had very little interest vested in my case. On my initial meeting with Atty Costello??s, he told me ??what your wife did to you financially you will absolutely not have to pay her any alimony?. I ended up paying alimony.
Over the last few months I have met with several other lawyers in the district to discuss various issues and it is apparent that Mr.Costello is known for conducting business in this manner and something needs to be done to stop this from happening to his other clients that come to him for legal advice, council and help.

I just completed an awful post-judgment divorce matter and the attorneys could not have been more compassionate. Their patience and knowledge helped me through a rough time. I have and will continue to refer them to friends.

I used one of their attorneys and was disappointed. Overpriced at 300+ per hour. Was very late for one hearing. I paid in excess of $8,000 and then complained when I was
late with the last $800.00. I would not recommend them.
